Emeril's New Orleans Fish House Ratings and Reviews
This was in the MGM back by the restaurant row. It is always a struggle in Vegas for restaurants to stand out. The food and service were good but not excellent. The decor is typical for Vegas, lavish and overdone. The bar was large but not very busy when we were there. I imagine it depends on how busy things are in the casino will directly affect how busy the restaurant is. The wine and beer list were good. Cajun inspired menu was true to taste, but having eaten in New Orleans, it seemed like something with the ambiance was missing. We enjoyed our meal, but with so many others to chose from, even from Emeril, I doubt I will be a return visitor.
emerils fish house in vegas was an amazing dining experience the staff are friendly knowledgeable and there to make sure your every need is taking care of. the food was amazing best scallops and steak i have ever had i would go back here in a heart beat and will be there next time in vegas would recomend this resteraunt to everyone
The food is not the issue here - it's the type of quality you'd expect with Emeril's name on it. But the exerience, from hostess check in to service was odd and uncomfortable. Hostess was lifeless and completely uncommunicative - sat us at a table next to the server station when plenty of seats available. She did accommodate our request for a different seating. We had two servers (you would think a good thing) that were awkward in their approach, repetitive and not authentic (felt very scripted, and one of them literally read the menue headers to us). Instead of feeling pampered, we were confused on each one of their roles - they had different approaches (one friendly, one formal) and switching between was weird.
Well with outstanding food and a bill for 2 at $168, my husband and i expected good service if not great. Our server Lurence who we only saw 2 times last being when he took our order left us with empty cocktails no water and not once came to check on our food which was delivered by someone else was even alright. Food had excellent flavors another crab cake would of been nice or two smaller ones as our app. Due to the service we will never go back to this Emerils location but will def try another one of his restaurants.
Absolutely love this place. Go for the lobster bisque then try anything else on the menu - you won't be disappointed! Expensive - yes, but its a special occasion kind of place. The service is second to none and it better be in a place like this. The food was perfectly cooked, beautifully presented and the portions are very generous. Our waiter was very knowledgeable, accommodating and very friendly. We loved it!
Eight (8) of your customers in my group commented as follows: Delicious GUMBO....SHRIMP POBOY: "Dry" sandwich....., plenty of shrimp but shrimp could have been seasoned more....(I am a former Lafayette, LA Cajun resident)Very good service...Glad we called and ensured that the business dress code (as per your website) did not apply to the lunch crowd...(Las Vegas, MGM location) DR
Very good grilled seafood platter. However mussels were small and not that well prepared. Server was inexperienced, wine while good and expensive was not served well chilled. Not bad experience but I think emeril should visit his restaurants because he could probably do better.
We traveled across country to celebrate two special occasions, it did not live up to our expections. Since we have eaten in both Miami and New Orleans Emeril's and they were both excellent. Four people were disappointedvin the quality of the food. Hopefully, it was an off night.
This was my first time eating at an Emeril's restaurant. As a New Orleans native, I was a bit disappointed. The dish I ordered, the BBQ Salmon, was excellent, but my friends' meals (the Hawaiian Lehi Snapper and the Rosemary Chicken Breast) lacked flavor. The garlic mashed potatoes were good, and the Shaved Fuji Apple & Butter Lettuce salad was fabulous. The service started out good (though we had to ask for a wine list..that should have been offered), but when we opted not to order dessert, the waitress became very unfriendly...she gave us our bill and never said a word to us the rest of the time we were there. Not a "thank you for coming" or "good bye" (and she was standing right there when we were getting up from our table.
We had the clam chowder, BBQ chicken and etouffe, and finished off with Emeril's Banana Cream Pie (as featured on Food Network's The Best Thing I Ever Ate). The food was all really delicious, and the service was very friendly but slow. Fortunately, we weren't in a rush, but lunch took over 90 minutes...
I love the food and the ambiance of this place. Me and my boyfriend enjoyed the food. The steak was so juicy and good. The only thing that I would say is that the serivce could have been a little better, it took forever for our food to come out, but when it did we were really impressed.
After a fabulous night of Cirque du Soleil's KA, we thought a fantastic fish dinner would be the perfect way to end a perfect day. My wife's swordfish was outstanding. 10/10! However, my "fresh" Virginia Sea Bass dish proved to be "catfish" in taste and texture. I was stunned. Our lovely server took the dish to the manager who was kind enough to remove the charge for it from our bill, but never visited my table; I was stunned that no further food was offered. I felt like a person being encouraged to leave the restaurant rather than a patron needing supper. My food and the handling of the matter was less than acceptable, and I'm quite certain if Mr. EL were to have been there, the service and approach may well have been much different. Pity!
