Emeril's Delmonico Ratings and Reviews
Our dining experience was absolutely delightful! The food was imaginative and delicious; the setting intimate and lovely; and the service outstanding. Although Brett Smith appeared to be youthful, he was clearly experienced in anticipating his customer's needs and desires, was knowledgeable about the menu and offered terrific suggestions, and was absolutely charming!
4 wait staff kept bothering us, with the same questions, they were not in sync. the food was not hot. and they took the food away without asking!? gave us the bill without asking?! A terrible experience. I would not recommend this restaurant, ever, to anyone. What a let-down.
Arrived at 5:15 for 6:15 reservation. Restaurant opened at 5:00. Hostess said "She'd see if she could get us in before or 6:15 reservation". The good news was we had great appetizers and drinks in the bar for half price. The bad news was they waited to seat us 'till about 6:30, though there were numerous tables available.
Food was excellent, service was phenomenal, the tables waiter's attitude wasn't extremely friendly but the young man and lady doing the water and utensils was very refreshing. Please ensure young man and lady assisting at the table are compensated properly. Aside from that it was an outstanding experience.
First time visit to New Orleans for a Conference with co-workers. Restaurant was a suggestion from a friend and I am glad she did. Food was excellent and our servers Lloyd, Zack (Malcom) and Zory ( sorry if its misspelled) were absolutely incredible and definitely were at the top of their game. Very prompted service and polite. If I am ever in New Orleans again I plan on going back. Atmosphere was absolutely lovely. Prices were what you would expect from a fine dining establishment. First time trying turtle soup, delicious! Tastes like chicken. LOL.
I highly recommend a visit.
Our event was our annual Christmas dinner with our office staff. The food and service was outstanding, as well as the entertainment. The atmosphere was wonderful and we loved our waiter. We also included two children, ages 12 and 16, and they enjoyed the dining experience as well.
What an amazing evening from start to finish. To have one of Emeril’s signature appetizers, barbecue shrimp, and then to move on to the finest filet ever. Topped off with chickoree crime brûlée and a midnight Manhattan which I need to find the recipe for, it was the perfect way to start a New Orleans break.
Between the service and the food it one of the best eating experiences. Johnny the waiter and the whole wait staff was very accommodating and knew there menu inside out. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone and especially anyone looking for the complete experience!
We selected Delmonico's because we have eaten there in the past when visiting New Orleans. The other consideration was that they have turtle soup on the menu one of our favorites). The ambiance was as we remembered, as was the service. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The turtle soup had too much lemon. So much that it overpowered the other flavors in the soup. The bone-in ribeye was cooked as requested, but the flavor was mediocre. When I spend this much for a steak, I expect full, rich flavor. This was just a steak. My wife mentioned that she tasted the aging, where in the past that did not stand out. Since this was not our first visit, I may try them again. For the same reason, expectations are high. I would not recommend this restaurant based on my most recent visit. I can only hope it was just a bad night, because this was one of our favorite restaurants in New Orleans.
Emeril always does a great job with service, quality and variety of foods, with cost. I would always recommend you try a few of them. Their cocktails are always excellent as well. Food was cooked to perfection and served at just the right times. Not too long or too quickly.
Pull up and immediately greeted by parking attendant and valet parking. walking in, at least a half dozen employees give a nice smile and greeting. Service throughout, from bar and back to the parking attendant, was completely top drawer; even, the piano player. The feeling. was akin to a New Orleans evening, long time past. We are experienced diners, so, to see upholstered walls, and, street cars going by, created an ambiente, well worth the price of the experience.
This was our wedding anniversary and we had visited the restuarant twice before for the same occassion, however, on this occassion things did not go well. They said our table was not ready and we were asked to sit at the bar. When I looked into the dining area, I saw our table was ready, so that didn't make sense, except maybe they wanted us to order a drink. We were seated five minutes after we ordered a drink. Very coincidental. Anyway, we seated at our requested table, and finally greeted by our waiter. After he greeted us and asked if we wanted any other drinks, we sat for almost ten minutes without a menu. I had to ask for a menu, which was not a good. I saw our waiter walking around waiting on one other table next to ours, but he never came back to give us a menu. We decided on ordering a salad and asked Brett if he could add chopped eggs to it and he said yes. Well, the salads were delivered, but without chopped egg. No big deal, except you would think he would get it right. My wife ordered the lamb and the waiter, Brett, told her it would be cooked medium rare and she said that would be fine. When the meal was brought the lamb was rare and she ate one piece, but didn't eat the rest. My steak was fine. I finally had to call over the head waiter, who was very good and pleasant, to tell him about the lamb. He apologized and took it away. Brett finally came back and we told him about the salad and the lamb, and he apologized. We decided to order banana foster and Brett said he would make a half order for us. Well, he totally forgot and we watched him walk around like he was lost. After about 5-10 minutes, I called him over and told him not to worry about it. So, needless to say, our anniversary dinner experience was not good at all. We were very disappointed with the level of service from our waiter. He was a nice young man, but he was seem to have mental lapses of what he was doing. Paul Gautreaux - Covington, LA
