Located on the famed St. Charles Avenue streetcar line, Delmonico, the legendary, century-old institution, is an icon in the restaurant industry and has been a cornerstone of traditional Creole dining since 1895. Reopened by Emeril Lagasse in 1998 after an extensive historic renovation, Delmonico continues today serving a modern style of Louisiana's Creole cuisine with Emeril's warm style of service in a grand setting.

Disappointing. You pay for the name. I could have cooked a better meal at home and saved $200. And the bathroom was dirty.
The customer service was unmatched. Fantastic. We had a party of 12 and the food was perfect. They blew us away.
Food quality has dropped considerably over the years. No longer a special place in the Garden District.
Everything was perfect from start to finish, my favorite restaurant in New Orleans. Our waiters took care of us! I would return!
One of the top dining experience I’ve ever had. The food, staff, and atmosphere were all amazing.
Emeril’s was exceptional. I would definitely recommend anyone living or visiting NOLA to go.
Not sure I've ever eaten at a restaurant where there was such over-the-top suggestive selling for each item we ordered. Felt like we were being asked to super-size every dish. The bananas foster trolley was also too big for the table arrangement; ran into our table and waiter made guest at another table move while he prepared the dish for patrons next to us. Food was decent, but would not return.
It was an evening of great food and great service. From the hot cornbread to the bananas foster the meal did not disappoint.
Absolutely fabulous meal!
We live in NOLA, but we try to take friends to the New Orleans classic restaurants whenever they visit. This trip to Emeril’s Delmonico Steakhouse was excellent as is expected from and Emeril Lagasse restaurant.
I had to bone in ribeye and it was cooked to perfection. The corkage fee was a reasonable $25.
Food and service was amazing! Great night of dinner
Without a doubt, the SERVICE at Delmonico’s is OUTSTANDING! Equal to the Jules Verne in Paris only with a local charm that is as much part of the ambiance as the physical surroundings. The service shown above the overall food experience though.
My friend and I shared many different plates, emphasizing local specialties over universal dishes. For appetizers, we had Boudin Balls (a fried cheese and sausage combo), sweet potato gnocchi with a boar ragu, steak tartare, and an iceberg lettuce salad. The GNOCCHI was OUTRAGEOUS! Smoky, flavorful, rich. The BOUDIN BALLS were also INCREDIBLE! Steak tartare was served flattened and lacked good flavor. Salad, as well.
Main course was a shared local fish...drum with fingerling potatoes. Disappointing but perhaps because I required the sauce on the side as I’m sensitive to onions. Not very exciting.
For dessert, the house specialty: BANANAS FOSTER prepared at the table by one of our army of waiters. SINFUL!
As for the ambiance, we dined upstairs and we’re told it was recently renovated, which may explain the absence of art on the muted golden walls papered with a faint jacquard. The room seemed lonely and unfinished. As it filled, it became more festive but also louder. Literally, the standout of the evening was the wait staff. SUPERB.
Better than first class! Wait staff very attentive and not at all pretentious. Very friendly. Food was excellent. Every course topped the last. When in New Orleans, don’t miss this gem. Our best dining experience while there.
Loved everything about our experience at Emeril’s Delmonico! I had the Ahi Tuna, my wife had the lobster ravioli. Both outstanding dishes. We had to “slow down” the wait staff a bit as it initially felt like they wanted to “turn over” the table quickly. Although it may have been about the service, as we never had to ask for anything? The bar staff was fantastic as well! Wonderfully crafted cocktails. The bar is also a great place to chill after dinner. The smooth stylings of the piano player and his unlimited song catalog capped off a wonderful evening. Really cool cat too! Easy to get to location in a cool building. Well done y’all!
Food and service was outstanding. Highly recommend the soft shell crab entry. The piano music was a nice touch also
This is a must visit for those to Nola. In closing my parents had their wedding reception here 65 years ago.
Beyond 5 stars! Remarkable Anniversary celebration!
This was the single greatest dinning experience I’ve ever had. The food and service were world class. I cannot wait to return on my next trip. Well worth the money! The ribeye and oysters were incredible and the pecan pie was amazing! Highly recommend!!
I think they had an off night. The manager was incredible, very friendly, helped us get a cab after we ate and stood outside with us so we would be safe. The food was delicious, we had fried green tomatoes, i had gulf shrimp pasta. However, it was a slow night, and the service was not so good. The main waiter was attentive, but the helpers who fill you glass with water and bring you bread and such were awful. They kept bringing stuff to our table that we didn't order or didn't belong. Like they dropped off coffee before we even had dinner, and we hadn't even ordered it. Very weird experience, but i'd try it again.
The cuisine here is top notch. Jazz pianist was playing some great tunes. Had the chicken bob femme and the drum. Gumbo (dark roux) chicken andouille was excellent. The pineapple bread pudding was simply one of the best versions of this New Orleans staple I’ve had to date. True nola experience.
The food and service was impeccable. Great for special occasion.
We were a party of 6 including our elderly uncle. It was our first time dining at an Emeril restaurant and expectations were high. Initially the service was great but when the salads came, one of our parties had blue cheese crumbles on her salad that she didn’t ask for, one didn’t get blue cheese crumbles that she asked for and my uncle, who ordered the iceberg salad had zero blue cheese. When we informed the server of the mix up and the omission on the iceberg salad, he made no effort to correct any of it. One of my cousins said he said he would take care of desert for us. I didn’t hear that and would have informed him that that isn’t a sufficient remedy since most of my party wasn’t interested in desert. Just to hammer home the point, my uncle was having that salad and a light appetizer for his meal so he didn’t really get 50% of his meal. After dinner, I was the only one to order desert and I wanted the table to taste the famous bananas fosters. When I asked the server about it, he tried to steer me away from ordering it. In my opinion he was not happy that I ordered it anyway, which meant he had to cook table side. In fact he cooked it behind our table where no one could see and the only time he addressed our table during the cooking was when he said something before he flambéd it. Then he presented two, not one, portions to our table. I ordered one because half of the table wasn’t eating desert. I assume the extra desert was to make up for the salads, again, not a remedy especially since my uncle was one of the people not eating desert. What I’m really appalled at is that nothing was removed from the bill. At any restaurant in the USA or otherwise, if you are served something that you don’t like or that is not as described on the menu, it is removed from the bill. We were charged for the desert, not two but one so I guess we got one desert free? I wish I would have known this 5 star restaurant doesn’t provide even basic service accommodation.
Great! Excellent service and food was spot-on!
Wonderful service! Ambience was relaxing and classy with classical piano music playing. I was asked if I wanted still or sparkling water and chose still. Fiji water, my favorite! I started with a lychee cocktail which was bright and clean. Then the appetizer of a crab dip with little toasts. Served hot and the chunks of crab were sweet and cooked perfectly. Complimentary cornbread that was so soft it melted in your mouth. My entree was an almondine fish, cooked to perfection, golden fingerling potatoes, and artichoke hearts. Everything was delicious. For dessert, I got the three chocolate chip cookies with house-made vanilla bean milk. Cookies were warm with a crisp outer edge and the milk was fantastic. They even sent me back to my hotel with a fresh cornbread! Will definitely visit again if I get back to New Orleans.
Thi was a horrible experience from start to finish. We were seated in half of a banquet hall next to a false wall where their was a party with screaming kids and the wall smashing into us. I requested a move so they did to the table next to us on the same wall. The food.... my Lamb was raw not rare but RAW. They took it back so my wife got to eat alone. The lamb came back raw again. This time Vern the GM asked me to cut into it and as soon as i did he gasped yep it was RAW again. The 3rd time it was right but the rest of my meal was ice cold. I would not recommend this place to anyone. We felt like a burden all night.
We met some business associates of my husbands here for a lovely dinner. They said it was the best they had had after a week in New Orleans. Wonderful service, so elegant, exceptional food, and the pianist was so talented!
Delicious food , friendly service and great ambiance. I had the lamb chops and were exquisite, the corn bread was amazing. The bananas foster was the perfect closure to a fabulous evening.
it was certainly not our first time at this venue, and won't be the last. Our reservations were promptly honored, and we were served a nice welcoming glass of champagne and a delightful watermelon and caviar appetizer. Zorry and the rest of the serving staff were professional, courteous, and efficient. Everything came out well-paced, and hot. My wife had the chicken and sausage gumbo, and I had the crab, shrimp, and merliton bisque. Both were flavorful, well presented, and a joy to consume.
Our entrees were the drum almandine artichoke, fingerling potato, citrus, marcona almonds, delmonico meuniere, topped with crabmeat; and for me the Quail Clemenceau with andouille sausage, sugar snap pea, mushroom, brabant potato, béarnaise. Neither one of us could finish, so it was carefully packed, along with a few of their warm chocolate chip cookies, for another day.
We could not have had a more delightful experience, capped with world-class pianist Ron Jones at the bar.
Thanks much for a lovely evening!
It’s very upscale and the food options sounded so good it was hard to decide. We had a picky teen with us but she found some open. Very pricey but consistent with quality of food and service. We did get the bananas foster and it made bananas better than you’ve ever had them. The wait staff was attentive and very helpful with making suggestions. It was quiet when we arrived as we went early but lively and filling up by 7:30. A special occasion must!
Excellent. We loved it. Service especially strong. Great ambiance.
Everything we ate there was absolute amazing. The flavors were just bursting in our mouths. I had the chicken and my partner had the ribeye. The food was very tasty. I would highly recommend this place and would love to come back.
We’re from Nola however moved to Houston atriums 15 years ago and we were in Covington for a business meeting. We decided to bring some of our partners to Delmonico’s for an authentic Nola experience and they didn’t disappoint. Everything from the service to the food were excellent and our partners can’t stop talking about it.
We had a fantastic dinner. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Will absolutely return on our next visit.
The ambience was very nice. Do not eat here if you have food allergies. We ordered a dish without nuts for an anaphylactic allergy and it came hidden with walnuts! Unacceptable in my eyes for a restaurant that charges this much
The team of Kevin, Reggie and Cory were engaging, funny and professional. Their advice hit the mark. Food and drink were exceptional. We enjoyed the summer crab, corn & watermelon salad. Definitely the food highlights of our trip to NOLA.
Excellent overall. Service was superb
Salt must have been the word of the day. My husband ordered the tuna and there was chunks of salt, the kind they set oysters on. Shaved Brussels sprouts were inedible So much salt. Although they introduced 4 people that would be waiting on us service was very slow and it wasn’t that busy. Very disappointed
Johnny was an amazing waiter and the food was awesome
Emeril’s establishments never disappoint. We make it a point to find one every time we go to a new city. This place has the best service we have ever seen. Johnny and his team were awesome. The food is always amazing.
