Emerald Loop Bar and Grill
Great location! The food was very good - service was excellent. As is to be expected at a pub, it was very noisy but we were upstairs where it was quieter and more conducive to conversation.
This has quickly become one of my favorite spots! It's ideal for happy hours (obsessed with the happy hour appetizers!), dinners, or just hanging out at the bar watching sports. Always lively, food is great, and the staff is so friendly and welcoming. Best part is that they keep their full menu all night, and the kitchen is open LATE. Can't recommend enough!
I know it’s pub food, and didn’t expect fine dining, but it was still pretty bad. Both entrees were very disappointing. The brisket was more fat than meat. The cobbler was mostly dough. The Buffalo wrap was tasteless. Sorry - I don’t usually write bad reviews, but they need to know.
Corned beef was very fatty. Should not have been served. Normally the food is quite good. Will come again but will order differently. Great beers and fish tacos that my friend ordered were delicious.
Service was excellent and attentive. Although we were late, they held our reserved table, which enabled us to be seated for the start of the Van Morrison concert at Chicago Theater. The food was very good. Great place for drinks and dinner that won't break the bank.
Very Impressed with service and quality of food! Busy busy place and we dine before a show at Chicago Theater ! We will be back!
I'm so glad we found this spot - we joked that we needed an Irish pub (we were coming from a very long day at Star Wars Celebration), and we found one! The food was all incredible (and really well priced), and our server very kindly saved us from ordering two of those giant shepherd's pies (one was more than enough, and it was delicious). This was a great spot to bring my cousins and their young children, too. Overall, this was a great experience and we'll definitely be back.
Best burger in the city I’ve had in a lonnnnnnngggg time!
We stopped in for the breakfast buffet. At first glance the selection and food looked great! Upon sampling the food however, most looked and tasted like it had been cooked hours earlier. We managed to find enough that was edible, but it was definitely not worth the $13. Spend a little more money and eat someplace better.
The brisket is outstanding. It comes with coleslaw (ok but not great), Mac and cheese (very creamy) and peach cobbler (ok). The Irish Gold mixed drink was peachy and very refreshing. I would definitely go back for the brisket. The noise level was high and the servers were stretched but it was a busy Friday night. Our server forgot our appetizer but service recovery was good. Overall it was a very good experience.
We were looking for a place after a day of sightseeing that was close to the WyndhamGrand where we were staying. Saw this restaurant from our window and decided to give it a try. Wonderful food! Our grandsons had fish and chips which was enormous and really good. I had the seafood curry and my husband had the all day Irish breakfast. Both were delicious! A bit noisy bu we sat in the area away from the bar which was good. Would definitely go back!
Great food and great service!!
We were there for our 5th Anniversary date, accompanied with a concert at the Chicago Theatre. It was a great beginning for our concert. Food was excellent, we don’t visit Chicago often but this is one restaurant we will gladly visit again and again.
Nice Irish Pub, great bar, good beer and cider. The Angus-beef burger was perfect, excellent taste, medium-rare at the point: delicious! Was there in the evening, so noise-level was high (as expected :-))
Solid place. Food is better than expected
We showed up 30 mins early and our table was already set up. Service was amazing! Half off the table ordered from the menu, the other half chose the breakfast buffet. Skip the buffet and order from the menu. Food just wasn't as fresh. We would go back next time we're in Chicago.
Friday night before St Patrick’s Day and I was concerned that my reservation wouldn’t be honored, I was wrong. I arrived early and my table was waiting and ready. It was crazy busy (and loud) but we had great service, great food and a wonderful experience. Thanks for making the weekend memorable! I’ll be back.
St Patrick’s Day, no need to say more!!☘️
We were there early in the evening, before the busiest time. Service was attentive and food came pretty quickly. We enjoyed the baked mac & cheese, and the brisket grilled cheese sandwich. Desserts were also good, the chocolate lava cake being very rich and the chocolate mousse very light but tasty. Prices in general aren't bad for the Loop, though I don't come here often, I took one star off of the "value" rating because over $8 for a pint of Harp is a bit much. I'd definitely come back for the food.
Always spectacular service, food & drinks! I always make a reservation. The crowd spikes when there is a show at one of the many theaters surrounding Emerald.
From the time we walked in we was greeted by friendly staff and that was carried throughout the whole experience. Food was excellent and so was the service.
very good food and large portions. Would you go back soon!
We went for drinks and appetizers. So many good options!
We tried this place as it was near our hotel and had good reviews. We didn't not like much of the food we ordered. Everything was very blan and no value for the cost. Also felt like we were sitting with strangers as our table was maybe 8in from another on both sides.
Great time. Great food and beautiful accents 😉
Good ambiance: Cozy, friendly, with a vibe.
Food was meh..., to be honest.
I would come back and recommend it, overall.
Love Emerald Loop. Excellent food. Wonderful value. If you are a seafood lover, this is the place for you. Great prices, good drinks.
Brunch should be rethought. Good for those who eat anything but no quality choices.
Took advantage of Restaurant Week to try Emerald Loop. What a great place, especially if you love all things Irish. Had the sea scallops, which were delicious. Came with mushrooms and broccoli, which were good, but served lukewarm. The server seemed new so we didn't bother telling her about it. I would definitely return here.
Just a nice atmosphere, food is good. Great happy hour items. Staff is always pleasant and nice.
Emerald Loop was a good choice for lunch. It was bright with lots of big windows and a pub atmosphere.
Food was good - we had the scallops and mashed potatoes with aspargus and mushrooms. All was cooked perfectly
We always come here when we come to Chicago. The food and service are great. Cute bar. Kinda loud but not annoying. Just don't sit upstairs by the front wall when it's snowing. Every time the door opened we felt snow and a very cold breeze. All in good fun though. Excellent burger and Reuben. Will be back.
We went in to use a coupon I had been sent for the macaroni and cheese and it was fantastic. My coworkers and I were in a rush and we were quickly seated. We let our server know of the time crunch and he accommodated. Food and service were both great. We'll be back
Everything we had was delicious-- from the Shepherd's Pie to Mac and Cheese and brisket. Seating with reservation was on time. Service was prompt and though the food took a little longer than anticipated, we were out in plenty of time to walk to the Chicago Theater.
We were a bit disappointed in the food. One of the people in our party ordered a main dish salad and was disappointed to see it was mostly iceberg lettuce. Two people had scallops (Friday special). They were fine - nothing really special. Service was a little slow, but friendly.
I enjoy Emerald Loop because everyone can always find something they like. Their lunch specials are a good deal to take advantage of.
Great sports bar and restaurant to watch your favorite game on TV. The waitresses are friendly and attentive. Good comfort food fare.
Great food and a fun atmosphere. Very convenient location in the loop.
Weak service. Decent food. Almost walked out after being ignored when first seated. Asked for sandwich plain. Was served a dressed sandwich. Ended up going somewhere else for our next drink. Had to wait for everything. There were three of seven tables seated in our section most of the time we were there. Not a good value for what we spent.
Was not please with our experience, the bathrooms were very dirty. The food was just ok. There were 4 in our party, 3 meals came out, the fourth one took about 10 more minutes. Just was not an enjoyable dining experience.
