We went to Emerald Loop before a show at the Chicago Theater. I would recommend, typical Bar with pretty good food and a fine beer selection. Pretty loud though.
The food here was great and the manager was very accommodating when we had to push our time back 15 minutes. The only thing that bothered us was that our plates sat at our table the entire time. We got our appetizers and soup and the waitress never cleared them when we were done. Our food came which consisted of two more plates that sat there until we left. So from the time we got our apps till the time we left 5 dirty plates sat at the table and we were never asked if we wanted them cleared. We were going to order another drink but at that point there was no room. It was a bummer because we really enjoyed this place.
This was beyond excellent as usual! :0)
Every waiter I've had there has been terrific. The food is terrific and the beer is cold. One of the best Irish restaurants in Chicago.
The burger was very good.
Great overall expierence!!! Perfect pre theatre ambiance and atmosphere
Firts time back in a year. Disappointing. Super noisy. Soup cold, sent back. Had to find our silverware at another table. Waiter didn't check on us.
The food was amazing! Lots of choices. Definitely got your money’s worth and could tell it was great quality . We also got free beer through their Heineken partnership so that is always nice
I’ve eaten here before a couple times so I’ll give them a pass on the service today. But we had the breakfast buffet that was pretty empty today. The line was super long for the omelet & waffle station which only had one man on it. But literally as we waited in line finally a few pans were finally refilled like the fruit, bacon and some sausage. The pastries were all gone and no french Toast, or regular toast. Again it was super busy today, other times I’ve come it has been plentiful. Bonus after the very long wait for the omelet it was very good
St Patty’s day! What a hoot. Lots of music and energy.
While overall pleased with Emerald Loop, I was disappointed that while I was asked if we wanted a high table and replied NO, that was all that was available for me when we arrived for our reservation. Why ask if you can't make sure to have what I request? The night we went Emerald Loop was full of busloads of somewhat rude people crowding everywhere, using our table for their drinks and trash even though we were dining there. I know this is not completely their fault, but it did make for a somewhat unpleasant evening. Still, we are repeat customers and would return.
Thank you again for accomodating our party of 12 on Wednesday. Our server Clodagh was awesome even though she was pretty busy. Corn Fritters were delish. Fried Cauliflower was too breaded & just ok. Rosemary Chicken was soo juicy. Great Beer selection & decent Happy Hour Specials.
Very close to the Chicago Theatre and good food. Would come back here before a show again.
Amazing gem of a place ! The food was fantastic, the service excellent! Manager Conor came around to see how everything was! We will be back!
Seated promptly because of the reservation. Took forever to get a server, took longer to get initial drinks and waited an hour for cold, hard food. Watched two other nearby tables order and get served their food (similarly ordered entrees) in the time it took us to get our food. Manager took care of the problem, fortunately. Would not recommend.
Ate here before a show at the Chicago Theater. Very close. Nice inside. Comfortable. Wait staff was very nice. Our food was good! No complaints. I would recommend.
Good place for a date when you have theater tickets.
Very understanding and accommodating! Called to make sure the table set up they had for us was up to our expectations!
I enjoy Emerald Loop because it has something for everyone. I took some co-workers who all wanted something different and it was great because we all found something we were happy with. Service was very fast and the food was really good
We enjoyed the food and the great location in the downtown area.
It was very loud for a Thursday night around the large bar area in front, but there are two sections toward the back where you can reserve a table and not have to shout. It didn't ruin our night or anything, it's just not a place to go to for a quiet dinner. Service and food was very good.
Good experience. Nice varied menu, good bar service. Recommend this restaurant for less formal dinners.
Had fish & chips. They were really good.
Lots of food. Steve our server was very attentive although it took a little long to get our dinner. My husband had the French onion soup which was really good. His wrap was a little thrown together but good.
Good food; great service. It was packed because of happy hour, although we understand it’s always busy.
Very clean bar and pub. Good food and decent prices for Chicago Loop. Would go again.
Good lamb stew and chowder. great brown bread, but the best item is many beers on tap!
Had a cozy dinner in the bar area. The staff was friendly and professional Mac and Cheese was to die for
Our go to place when taking in a show at the Chicago Theatre. It's only a short block away. Service and food never disappoint.
Food was very average and over priced. Not enough waitstaff and very loud
EXCELLENT SERVICE
Good casual spot with solid pub food. Can get crowded; the most recent night we were there it was packed and kitchen was slammed. Things were slow, food not as good as prior visits, but server did his best his to keep things moving and get us out the door in time for the nearby concert we were attending.
Best burger I've had in years!! Very clean restaurant. Great ambiance. Will be back for sure. Only thing negative is it's very loud. Prices very reasonable.
Ate here before seeing a show at the Oriental Theatre. Great atmosphere, food portions were huge! I had fish and chips and my husband had the shepherd's pie. We both really liked it but we could have shared the shepherd's pie. We had had a large pretzel before and couldn't decide if we preferred their cheese sauce or mustard...both were amazing! They had a lot of different whiskey and Irish beer.
I wanted to throw a happy hour before tax season.
This was perfect.
It was easy to hear people talk and the beer was reasonably priced.
Meal was fresh and tasty.
I made a reservation for Saturday night, and when we arrived, the restaurant was not busy. I asked that we be seated in a part of the restaurant that was not as noisy. The host seated us directly underneath a speaker. We waited 15 minutes for someone to show up with water, at least. We finally gave up and walked back through to the host station. When I told him that no one ever showed up to take our order, he said "That's too bad," but offered no remedy to the situation. I have visited the EG several times before and never experienced this level of disregard.
Everything was very nice and the staff was great too!
Always a good time at Emerald Loop - their food has always been good, I come a few times per year. Had the nachos this last time, all of my coworkers were very impressed. Good spot for happy hour, I would recommend reserving a table. Can be extremely busy, or rather dead. Good patio seating in the summer.
The glasses we received for drinks had lipstick and residue on them. The server was incredibly busy and we had to try really hard to flag her down for drinks, food, etc. Overall, pretty underwhelming. But, it was close to the Chicago Theater, which was convenient for quick bite and drinks before seeing a show.
Great location. We took our elderly parents for dinner to Emerald Loop before a show at the Chicago Theatre. It was extremely loud and we had to yell (doesn't help that they are hard of hearing!) due to a company's holiday party in the bar. We would have booked a table in the rear of the restaurant had we known how loud it would be. Our server was fantastic. My dad enjoyed the fish and chips.
