Embers Steakhouse is a Brooklyn, NY institution, started in the 80s and going strong ever since. It is one of those rare, casual spots in the city where the service is attentive and yet the entire atmosphere low-key and comfortable. As its name implies, Embers Steakhouse emphasizes beef and even features meats purchased directly from the specialty butcher right across the street.
Diners at Embers Steakhouse can opt for the house specialty, dry-aged beef grilled to the perfect level, or there are fish dishes, pasta specials and a fantastic wine list to pair with anything on the menu. The restaurant is also open for a popular weekend brunch that is prix fixe and includes cocktails and a stunning array of rich and hearty dishes.
You don't have to go to Peter Luger's. Ember's is just as good--and they don't cheap by dumping butter all over their steaks. Also lots of selections for anyone who's not a big beef eater.
I was looking forward to returning here, but this visit might be my last time. I ordered the filet mignon medium well. It came out looking grayish in color and tasted steamed/broiled. Not what I expect from a Steakhouse. My husband's rib-eye looked grilled, but also tasted broiled. The roasted cauliflower with bacon was bacon-less and tasted steamed instead of roasted. The service was great, but unfortunately the meal was not.
the steak is perfectly cooked, the potato pie is always delicious... don't forget the toll house pie, it's a must if you ask me.
First, we were asked 4 times if we wanted another drink, but no one brought us bread.
The sides were very small and my wife's 20 oz steak was overcooked and in two pieces and not
anywhere near 20 oz. The side order of spinach was one of the smallest I have ever seen! When have anyone seen a steak in two parts?
We are frequent diner here and always enjoy
Great food at a good price. Terrific service and reasonable prices.
The worst steak I ever had. This place claims to be a steakhouse but I don't know.
Steaks are always delicious!
The restaurant is experiencing new ownership. The new owner (Omar) is working hard to maintain high standards. Calamari, steak and salmon was good not great .
Great steak, great service and overall great experience.
The dog barked at Trick-or-Treaters for 6 hours non-stop so I needed to escape the house.
My Manhattan was made by a "Catholic Priest" bartender. Our waiter was an Indian Cheif, and our back waiter was a "Scream" Halloween at Embers was just the right amount of fun for my frazzled nerves.
The Shrimp Bisque was yummy, the porter house for two was fine and the potoato pie was delicious. The key lime pie was shared and gone in a flash. We had a great time and the dog was sleeping when we got home.
I brought my fiance to Embers Steakhouse to celebrate his 25th birthday. It was our first time dining there and we were both very impressed. The atmosphere is perfect; we were able to have a great conversation without having to shout, but it wasn't so quiet where you felt as though everyone else could hear you. The owner and staff were exceptional, both attentive and friendly; they recommended a fabulous wine and really knew the menu. Most importantly, the food was FANTASTIC! Everything we had was cooked to absolute perfection and tasted incredible. We haven't stopped talking about this place and cannot wait to go back!
Bartender has been there for many years and always wonderful and makes great drinks.
If you're a lover of steak... try Embers! I enjoyed it very much. :)
Food and service were a big disappointment. The rib eye steaks, pork chops and crab cake were not very good. The service was not much better.
The first room we were seated in had a large screen TV on. Not what we want when we go to eat in a steak house. We asked to be moved and after waiting a few minutes we were seated in the main dining room. The noise level in this room made it very difficult to hear the person across the table from you.
The martini I was served was very good. The only good item that I had.
Its a solid place with good reputation. Was I blown away by this place? No. Was it pretty good? Yes. The food was good, service was courteous and prompt as well but its not my favorite spot.
Fantastic Dining Experience! My sister and I celebrated our parents’ 50th Wedding Anniversary at Embers. We all enjoyed our cocktails, appetizers, meal, and desserts. We would recommend the Filet Mignon, Fillet Mignon Tips & Grilled Shrimp, 14 oz Sirloin Steak, and a side must be Ember’s Potato Pie with Prosciutto and Mozzarella! Also the night we were there, the vegetable of the day was corn in a light cream sauce with bacon, and it was outstanding! The service was incredible, and the owner was present and went from table to table making sure everyone was satisfied. It was my first time at Embers, and I am certainly will not be my last
Steak was good. A little too scary for my liking. The staff was amazing and friendly. Nice quiet spot to go out for a date.
Service was exceptionally slow. I hope I never have a reason to return. Also the steak was nothing special.
Service was slow. Food was unremarkable, cold, no flavor. Very expensive. I don't mind the cost, but I expect the experience to be consistent with the price.
I recently visited Embers after a long hiatus, and I can't explain why. The food and service were exceptional. The bone in rib-eye steak is one of my favorites, and Embers didn't disappoint. I also enjoyed the baked clams appetizer and fresh mozzarella/tomato salad.
Can't beat their prix fixe menu! Will definitely come back.
what a great place. Easily the best steakhouse in Brooklyn.
GREAT SERVICE< DECOR and MOST OF ALL FOOD-LOVE THIS PLACE
Our server was great. The food was great. I celebrated my birthday. Lovely atmosphere.
My husband and I lived in Bay Ridge for over 5 years now, but because of our busy schedule we have yet to really enjoy what it has to offer. We heard about Embers from a family member who went there. And she was from Florida (sad I know). After non-stop raving from her we decided to check the place out and omg I’m in love. This will definitely be our new spot. It’s like Manhattan service and food without the Manhattan crazy prices. Everything was amazing. The staff was superb. I'm already recommending this place to everyone. By far one of the top 3 steakhouses we’ve been to, and we love sampling steakhouses. We’ve class Embers with Sparks’ steakhouse, it’s that good.
Was average, too expensive and the aged steak was chewy, would not go again nor recommend to a friend, I tried but didn't like it
I hadnt been to Embers in quite awhile, actually since it had changed hands. it wasn't the old embers steakhouse that I used to love, but still a worthwhile trip. Host was very attentive and cordial. Waitstaff was also very good and not too pushy. As for the food, our appetizer was phenominal (coconut shrimp), our steaks were a mixed bag with my partner ordering the filet and loving it and me ordering the t-bone and only liking it. It wasnt the steakhouse quality that I had gotten in the past at Embers, basically just an ordinary not thick enough cut of a t-bone. All the sides were good and dessert was also great! I will go back but next tine I will try either the sirloin or something other than steak. The atmosphere is still just as nice if not nicer than it used to be. I am glad that I came back and next time Im crossing the bridge I will definitley be back!!!
Loved the food. If you love steak you'll love this place. I had the t-bone my girl had the rib eye between the two of us it looked like we had half a cow on the table.
We celebrated my mother's retirement at Embers and loved the food. The majority of us ordered steaks which were all cooked to our liking. The servers were very friendly and accommodating. The food took a bit longer than expected and the sides were not "hot," but it did not deter the meal from being delicious. I'd come back to Embers in the future.
The Food was O.K., but certainly did not live up to the "hype" surrounding this Steak House. Environment was very noisy, and service was spotty.................
Ruth's and Morton's do not have to worry about this place any time soon!
our 11 years anniversary dinner was awesome the food, service and ambiance was excellent. our server Pedro and staffs were great thank you.
A great option for a steak in Bay Ridge. The service is friendly and helpful. The back room can feel a little cramped and dark. Food is excellent and portions are big!
The food, service and ambiance was excellent! I asked for a mixed green salad and they added grilled chicken to the mix which tasted yummy! We did not order a dessert, so the waiter gave us dessert on the house since it was my birthday! That was the only thing which made my evening special. I would recommend Embers Steakhouse to all of my family and friends. I will definitely go back to this restaurant, but not with the guy I was with that day at the restaurant - sadly!
Must try Great neighborhood restaurant $25 dinner special can't be beat Nice wine selection & great bar drinks
Great Steaks! Great sides! Great service! Great place!
One of my friends told me he went to eat there and it was horrible. I had just been there the month before and everything was wonderful. We got the prix fix steak . The steak was so fatty and chewy. I was so disappointed. I had recommended the restaurant to everyone. I love the location and would like to give it another try.
the steak is great and I ilke the person who dsuggests the half bottle of wine great suggestion
Everything was great, food , service, drinks. Would definitely recommend the pre-fix dinner. I will be back.
My third time in this restaurant, and i will visit more, the food is delicious, and reasonable price: $25 menu includes salad or soup, 14oz steak with two sides and a desert. Service is good, and ambiance is fine. Definetly must go,
