Ember Urban Eatery
Ember has become one of our favorite downtown “go to” places. The weather was perfect so we dined outside and enjoyed a beautiful view of the city. We explained that we had tickets for an 8:00 performance by the ISO on monument circle and had some time to kill. They told us we were welcome to take as long as we needed to order, and delivered our meal precisely when we requested it. We always get excellent service there, but Brittany was especially helpful in making sure everything was timed perfectly. It was a very enjoyable dining experience and we are already looking forward to our next visit.
We met friends for dinner at the restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful! We were given ample time to visit, the staff was friendly and the noise level was low so that we could easily hat with our friends. The food was outstanding. I highly recommend the smoked chicken wings. They were delicious!
Excellent local experience with home cooking. The TBL sandwich is worth a special trip.
The Ember Urban Eatery has a great atmosphere that is in a great location with friendly staff and a wide variety of food that will appeal to a wide variety of tastes. There is a wide select of local and national brands of beer. The wines appear to be mostly international.
We have enjoyed this casual atmosphere will a couple of set of friends and all enjoyed their time there as well as the food. It is nice to have a place where you can talk to friends w/out talking very loud to be heard.
Each of the food items that our groups have had were enjoyable. The Urban wings lived up to their high repetition and our friends truly enjoyed the Potato Croquettes and Baked Goat Cheese. Our favorites in the main menu were the tenderloin, spinach salad w/ salmon, tilapia, and the brisket sandwich.
That fact that the owners are there working in the restaurant and how the employees seem to relate well to them reinforces this friendly, casual place.
One of the worst things about moving away from downtown/Fletcher Place is no longer going to Ember as often! We have enjoyed this neighborhood spot since it opened and now that we visit less frequently it's even more of a treat. The service is always fantastic, the food is delicious, and the setting is very nice. We love Ember!
This was our first trip and the four of us tried a wide variety of entrees/sandwiches. All of us were impressed. Our caretaker for the evening was extraordinary. We were there early (5:30); and the place filled by 6:15ish. Parking was adequate and free at that time. Definitely on my list as a favorite.
Always good food (NY Strip...flavor us amazing!!), 'special orders dont upset us', awesome service by the tall, dred, deeped voice waiter!!
Ember was a great place to bring my fiancé’s parents for a quiet, relaxed meal in a space that still has a casual pub atmosphere. It was easy to find parking, and we were seated immediately. The service was great and our server answered any questions we had with a solid knowledge of the menu. The wings were outstanding. I had a brisket sandwich that was great. They had options for the pickier eaters in our party as well. Pretty good selection of craft beers on tap. I will be back.
Great food and great service!
The food is always great, the atmosphere is warm and cozy and Matt has waited on us a couple times and is an awesome personable person, will definitely be back and tell others!
The food was amazing. The drinks were superb...bar tender was generous. And dessert was well worth the calories!
Great service! Friendly staff. Menu had a variety of options and the speacials were creative
Huge menu and options for all tastes.
Great restaurant! The food is always delicious, service great, and a relaxing atmosphere.
The food was just OK and didn’t seem to match with the price point. The pecan ball was amazing, however. I was expecting less of a dive atmosphere.
Brisket, brisket, brisket! Shrimp and grits are fabulous!
Fabulous food and great staff! So much fun and the food was simply out-of-this-world!
Great food. Nice casual environment.
This is a cant miss kind of place; don't get here as often as we should. Excellent cocktails and complete meal. Brisket is outstanding
The food was amazing at Ember. We were very impressed with the goat cheese appetizer and the potato balls.
the cajun brisket pasta was excellent as was the goat cheese and tomato sauce appetizer. My friend enjoyed the brisket dinner as well. This was our second visit and both times the service was excellent. Nothing fancy about the decor, but it is clean and well run and worth the visit.
The Potato Croquettes are amazing! Everything we had was delicious.
Family owned and run. Very nice people, food, facility.
One of our new favorite places to eat. Now been there three times in the
last three weeks.
This was an awesome find in Indy. We loved the hummus, steak and potato croquettes. Our waitress was so friendly and very efficient. We’ll definitely be back!
The $5 pizza Tuesday through Friday 4:30-6:30 is a great deal. My husband has had the supreme pizza a number of times and it is very good. The Cajun brisket fettuccine was delicious! Service has always been great. We really like the ambiance of the restaurant. We have never had a bad meal here.
Awesome as usual. Our favorite “go to” place.
Server was wonderful
Everything was coordinated in a very timely manner
Food was great - basic items, but with significant unique tendencies
We had a great time
Disappointed wanted something special and aside from hot on nachos NOTHING had flavor - great server - food was not worth trip or costs
It was easy and quick, and the food was good
Not a bad restaurant by any means, but there are much better options around the area. The server was really nice and fast too!
A nice quiet atmosphere with great food and drinks and friendly service!
We visited Ember Urban Eatery at the recommendation of my friend and his parents. We were so pleased with the service. We were promptly welcomed when we walked in and our server Matt was very accommodating. The food was OUTSTANDING. Those wings! I can’t get them out of my mind, and don’t get me started on the dipping sauce! Amazing! Everyone at our table of four enjoyed their food, from the steak to the Cuban to the baked penne pasta and the breaded tenderloin. I found my new favorite cocktail in their Cool as a Cucumber martini. Soooo smooth and refreshing. Can’t wait to come back on a night when I can drink more than two and just Uber home. Rob and Shelley, the owners, were welcoming and friendly and take great pride in their food establishment and are very attentive. Truly a great experience!
Always appreciate having Matthew as our server! He's got the perfect disposition & personality for being a server.
Always great!!! Terrific service. Nice suggestions.
Based on the pictures we had seen and the reviews we read, we were disappointed. We expected something more upscale. The potato puff appetizer with Alabama white BBQ sauce was amazing!! But the salads were nothing special, and the vegetarian pasta entree was poor. Hardly any sauce on it and little flavor. Matthew gets a shout out in service. Once we explained that we didn’t want to be rushed, the service was very good and well paced.
This was my second trip to Ember Urban Eatery. The restaurant has its own parking lot, which is convenient. We were seated promptly (reservation at 5:45 and arrived right on time). We were given a booth - not much total seating, but they did have some tables outside. Our waitress checked on us numerous times, but each time could've come 2-3 minutes earlier. We didn't wait a LONG time, but it was a "starting to look around for our waitress" length. Our soups and salads never came out, and then the manager came over and let us know that our appetizer ticket had fallen on the floor. She apologized but also called the people in the back a not very nice name - which I did NOT appreciate. Mistakes happen; no need to publicly shame someone for it. She did give us 50% off our food order, which came out shortly after the soups and salads. The food was all very good and cooked well. They also had a $4 22 ounce sangria special (on a Saturday) which was very good. I took my husband and parents there (both first timers), and they all said they would return.
Small little sports bar. Very nice appetizers. Polite wait staff
Some of the best wings in town! Also the pecan ice cream ball dessert is delicious.
Our service was impeccable and our food was very good. The server made the meal what it was though. He was so knowledgeable on the on the menu items, and very willing to give his opinion and persuade us to try something new. The pecan balls are the best dessert I have had in a while.
Met our daughter in law for dinner. It was devour Indy, so enjoyed the food from that menu. We shared various appetizers, my favorite was the marinara with goat cheese. The gumbo was good with nice heat to it, and the fried potato balls were served with a yummy sauce served on the side. For the entrees, my husband had the brisket, which was a large portion even for him! Tender and flavorful. Our DIL has the vegetable over quinoa and was glad she got that. Light and tasty! I had the chicken penne with cream sauce. Very good and portion size was large. We took home left overs as we shared desserts- bread pudding, chocolate brownie and pecan ball with ice cream. Desserts were good, but not as notable as the other food. Ambiance was quiet enough to have conversation and decor was clean and relaxing. Very good service too!
