Elway's Vail Ratings and Reviews
This was our third time celebrating our anniversary at Elways in Vail. We'll probably not come back. Wait times for the food service was very long. We asked for a table by the fireplace but they said it was not available. They placed us right near the kitchen which was very noisy Meanwhile the table that they said by a he fireplace sat open for over an hour. They said they were short staffed. Had to wait 30 minutes even for bread to be served at the table. We ordered our Steak medium rare plus and it came out very rare . Unacceptable as the Steak was cut open to share between my wife and I. The chief should have clearly saw that the stark was not even close to being done. The staff was not very apologetic about the whole experience. They did end up taking the Steak off the the bill.
This was our first time at Elway’s . My husband and I are in town for a work event and We brought my 10 month old along. It’s always a little nerve racking bringing a baby to a restaurant but everyone was so nice! I had multiple staff come to check on us, pick up toys he had dropped, fill his sippy cup with water. Everyone was so nice. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, I would highly recommend Elway’s in vail.
We've been to Elways several times and always have a wonderful meal. Our food this visit was fantastic. Our one issue was that our server spilled a glass of water on me and her lack of response was quite disappointing. She gave me one napkin to dry my pants and sweater which were both drenched. Additionally, she left us wth a soaking wet tablecloth which we had to puke up on top of the table to keep it from dripping. Then she served our dessert on the wet table. That type of service is unacceptable when we are paying $350 for a meal. I only share this because I believe Elways is a high quality establishment which typically has impeccable service and this was not evidenced on our most recent visit.
The food was incredible but we had a late reservation and the place was nearly empty. Before our entrees, it was clear they were ready to get us out the door. The brightened the lights, began picking up the tables around us and the service felt hurried. Our waiter was not outright rude or anything, but everything else made us feel uncomfortable and rushed.
If the restaurant closes early, fine; but don't accept late reservations.
My wife and I visited Elway’s and were joined by another couple. The staff was highly attentive and helpful - from checking our winter coats to graciously taking our picture at the end of the night. We never felt rushed. The food and drinks were all excellent. At time for dessert we were completely surprised. We were on vacation in Vail for my 60th birthday. We did not say anything about this to any of the staff. Our waitress brought a dessert to our table with a candle on it for me. I asked her how she knew and all she would say was another staff member alerted her. We can only surmise that as my wife and I were sharing with our guests that we were here for my birthday a staff member must have heard and passed it along. Wow what a happy and nice surprise. This was not our first visit to Elway’s and it won’t be our last. We highly recommend Elway’s when in Vail.
We celebrated our 10th anniversary here. We choose to sit at the bar and had a wonderful meal. They even gave us a card, which staff had signed and a complimentary dessert. Our bartender Ana was incredible and very accommodating. It is on the expensive side but worth the splurge!
We enjoyed another dinner at Elways in Vail. The staff and cooks could not be more prepared and professional. I had mentioned on my reservation that we were celebrating a birthday. When we got to our table, there was a card signed by the entire staff wishing my daughter a happy birthday. We were also surprised with a special chocolate covered ding-dong at the end of the meal with a candle. But asides this, the food is always great. Try the spicy artichoke dip and chips as an app, it's truly great. The steak tacos are outstanding, and so are the burgers. Great food, folks and fun. We will be back again for sure!! A special call out to the young lady at reception last night and her partner with reservations. She made a point of finding us the best table for our special event. Thank you!!!
Outstanding service. To the point of being intuitive. Extremely accommodating, and attentive. The food was not only outstanding, but uncommon in it's preparation and flavor. The menu is unusually large. Clearly something for everyone. The venue is fantastic with windows everywhere. We will be back often.
We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas meal. Our servers were top notch and our food was prepared to our liking. The assistant server took care of us as the main server was too busy. She was impeccable. The deviled eggs were fantastic. Spinach dip delicious. Both steaks were perfectly prepared. Two of our party got the crab legs and were not overly impressed. All in all we had a lovely time and would certainly return for another visit.
Kitchen got the baked potato wrong and had to send back. Our other guest ordered the filet medium and had to send back TWICE. They did comp the steak and deserts but not having your dinner when others do is very annoying and unprofessional. Our server left us hanging when the steak went back. Poor communication. She also failed to follow up after dropping off the dessert menu. After flagging her down we ordered raspberry sorbet. It was disappointing. For a fine dining restaurant attention to detail is paramount when paying these prices. Clearly staff training is needed.
Eh. A little disappointed by this restaurant. When we arrived the hostess was complaining about “the loud baby”... Then put us at the table next to them. The food was so so. Steaks are horribly overpriced for the quality that was served. Fantastic sides. Good craft cocktails. But if you want a steak, go to Flame (AMAZING) or Russell’s. Won’t be back here.
