annual Elway diners when we are in Vail. This was a disappointing trip, unfortunately
Martini- excellent but in the smallest martini glass ever for a fine dining restaurant. The stuffed olives were the size of peanuts.
Wedge salad, excellent
Filet, a bit tough.
NY Strip, very tough. Perfectly cooked but the quality was not right.
Sauteed mushrooms...over sauteed.
All in all a 6 out of 10
Last dinner of our vacay, and per the suggestion of family, we chose Elways.
Roasted Artichoke, and various salads as appetizers, followed by steaks, salmon, sauteed mushrooms and mashed potatoes. To finish it off, Key Lime Pie! All outstanding!
Amazing dinner and excelllent service
Excellent service and delicious meal!
We had an amazing time here, again! We make sure we have dinner here whenever we stay in Vail, and we haven't been disappointed yet!
We had their spring special, and both the Filet and NY strip were cooked perfectly!
We had a 6:00 reservation and were seated immediately, and they had champagne waiting at our table for us, because it was our anniversary!
Their was only one other family was there, but it was pretty packed when we left at 7:30, but the noise level was just fine.
Jessica was our waitress, and she made sure we were well taken care of, as did the entire staff, who all were so nice and attentive!
Really love this restaurant!
We had a great birthday celebration at Elways! The lamb chop fondue was a table favorite, but the Ribeye was incredible! Looking forward to going back!
Staff and food were terrific. Enjoyed the Spring Specials! Portions were generous. Unfortunately, the Noise from a party dining I n bar was quite distracting.
It was amazing!! Best steak I have ever had and our waiter Clark was so great and patient with my mom!
New spring special going on! Great deal on lots of food.
Birthday dinner. Everything was delicious! Can’t wait to visit again next time I’m in Vail
The NY strip was awful. It was the end piece very overdone on some parts. The beef quality was terrible. The server could have cared less. Hey John you should start paying a little more attention in Vail. No second chance here it was that bad!
Our waiter Tim was extremely friendly and gave great recommendations from the menu. Food was great. The lobster tater tots were delicious.
Great steaks and nice wine selection. The sides were fabulous too. We brought our children and the restaurant was especially accommodating.
Solid steakhouse fare but pricey. Good service. Not “refined” but this is steakhouse typical!
Enjoyed our table away from most everyone else. Appetizer and sides menu appealed to us more than big steak entrees. Our server Tim couldn’t have been better.
Birthday dinner was fabulous
our server Dragon was excellent
Always love the lollipop lamb fondue
Amazing. Lamb Fondue out of this world.
I was there with during a skiing trip with my daughter. I ordered a New York strip, which when it came out had shrunk up during cooking and to their own admission was not as presentable as it should’ve been. I was told that they had another one on the grill for me and I could have the one in front of me until the second was ready. The second one never came out and when I finish the first one they asked if it was OK to continue without the second. This even though they promised me I could take it home if I wanted. They did get my daughter a dessert to make up for it. However I thought this was unusual as I really wanted them to take the first strip away and just wait on the second. However they insisted that I eat the first one. The quality of the first one was OK except it did have somewhat more gristle than I would expect.
Protein was overcooked for both fish and meat. Manager tried to make it right with a cake which is always a right gesture. I just wish kitchen would actually use a temp probe if they find it hard to get the meats delivered at a medium done. However, given the volume you’d expect the chef to get it right on the go unlike home cooking. Their old fashioned was excellent on the other hand. If you have 2 of those you might even forget all the flaws.
Everything about this dinner was amazing!!! We made reservation to go back next day! Excellent food and service!!
If you like greasy food, this is the place for you.
Always an outstanding experience.
Quality fish & meats. Very large portions. Not necessarily unique with regard to the preparation/flavors.
We loved our first trip here a few years ago. Now it was a bit overpriced for an average meal.
The service and food was excellent. Our server Dragon rocked:) Ambiance and music was very much to our liking! The 20 oz. bone in rib eye and lamb were both unbelievable!
We have eaten at Elways in Vail several times. We go there for the steaks. Our steaks were all way over cooked. A medium rare was well done. We overheard other tables complaining as well. We didn't make a fuss but did advise our server. Most likely we will take Elways off our must eat list while visiting Vail during our annual visit.
Great food. Great service
Spectacular!!! Tuna tartare and lamb chops were superb! Excellent service!!!
Simply one of the best restaurants in Vail. Food quality, friendliness, efficiency of service, ambience. From the reception to the check the experience is outstanding. I have been there at least 30 times in the past years and plan to go many more. Congratulations to the whole staff !
We went here for our anniversary, we were greeted with so many congratulations from the staff as well as a card that was signed by all the staff and champagne! I would definitely recommend this place for an intimate and romantic atmosphere. Definitely would go back, food and staff was 10/10!
Always a special treat to spend the evening at Elwsys .... best steaks in Colorado ... always prepared to perfection.
If you treasure the opportunity to enjoy lollipop lamb from Colorado ... this is the place.
A great place for a birthday celebration!
El mejor de Vail en carnes!! 👌🤤
Great place to dine in Vail Village! Would definitely recommend for your ski vacation.
We love John Elway and was so excited to try his restaurant. We don't make it to Denver often. Great ambience. Super cool bar. Everything was good except for the Star attraction, the Bone-in Ribeye steak. Then it got worst when we the manager attempted to make excuses.
I ordered medium rare and the steak was chewy and grizzly. I shared some with my wife and she agreed. We notified the manager. His 15 minutes explanation and education about the construction of the ribeye was that cooking it MR does not breakdown all the fat and therefore making it chewy. Manager suggested ordering Medium to Medium Well next time. I was totally disgusted at the suggestions. He asked if we sent it back to cook it more. No, we left 40% of the steak on the plate when they took it away. I've eaten at numerous fine dining restaurant/steakhouse in my lifetime and never did the steak was so chewy, couldn't eat 40% of it. It was just a bad bad piece of steak.
The manager asked if we wanted any dessert but didn't offer it for free. He did apologize for the fact that the waiter didn't explain to us the possibility that ordering a MR ribeye could lead to a chewy steak experience. However, he didn't apologize the bad steak he's putting out. No discount was offered. But, again I didn't expect one from a manager who makes excuses and blame his staff. We took care of the staff with a very good tip.
The manager has no business managing Elway's Vail.
Unfortunately John, we'll NOT recommend your restaurant to a friend.
It is a good option for dinner, the quality of the food is good but some portions are small and pricey.
Overall is a good Steak house, but is not the best.
I took my husband here while vacationing in Vail for his birthday! Everything was awesome! The food ambience and just overall experience exceeded out expectations..
I love steak, and I've eaten a lot of steak over the years. Elway's hands down has the most delicious Filet Mignon I've ever eaten. It is INCREDIBLE. You almost don't even need a knife to cut it, it's so tender. It melts in your mouth. The sides and starters are equally delicious.
I've been to Elways Downtown Denver, Elways Cherry Creek, and Elways Vail and they're consistently great. It's not a cheap place to eat, but it is so so so good. It's my go-to place when I want to treat myself.
