I ordered a filet medium Rare and Oscar. The Oscar was not the best I had. I definitely had better at Elway's. The steak was not as tender as last time I went to Elway's, but still good. I guess I was a bit disappointed. Granted this is the first time I had anything less than stellar to say about Elway's.
Was my 2nd time here at Elways and it was as amazing as the first! Will definitely be back anytime I’m in Denver.
We always have an amazing time at Elway’s The steak was delicious as usual.
A tradition everytime I am in Denver. The service is bar none and the lamb chop fondue is to die for! GO BRONCOS!!
Elway's is a mid-tier restaurant masquerading as a top-tier. If you're looking for an alternate to Morton's Steakhouse, this is not the place. Elway's misses the boat on attention to detail in term of service. As a mid-tier restaurant, the service and food is good, but over priced. As a top-tier, the atmosphere, service and food is not quite there.
The staff is friendly and they are trying but they lack the training and experience that you would find in the staff at Mortons...and this is the lack of detail that I mention.
The atmosphere was "loud." It works if you are not looking for a relaxing dinner; It was bright and they had classic rock playing through the room.
At Mortons, the staff would pull out the table for you to slide into the booth, at Elway's they did not, and as we tried to slide in, the table cloth was oversized and got caught causing the plates and glasses to slide to the edge and almost fall off..we had to fix the table cloth and plates ourselves. As we moved through the dinner, the staff was not responsive on keeping the table clean nor checking to see if we wanted another drink. At Mortons, if you wanted to take things to-go, they would take your plates and prepare the boxes. Not at Elway's, they handed us containers that were too small for some of the items and I had to use my hands to squish it in the box. There were a couple other staff that seemed to have the experience we were missing with our servers, so others may have a different experience.
Summary: the staff just lacks experience for the price you pay and the atmosphere is too "loud." If the prices were 1/3 or more less, we may try it again, but as it stands, we will not return.
Among the buffet-only Thanksgiving options, the best was the potato-leek soup, the worst, the turkey (dry) and roast beef (gristly) entrees. Salads were soupy and roasted vegetables, over-roasted. At $100 a plate, diners deserve a quality meal.
My steak was undercooked. When it came back, it was overcooked. Otherwise, the food was great.
Best food and service you'll find anywhere!
First time visiting Elway's from out of state. Awesome place. Well done!
They put us in the corner and pretty much forgot about us. The main course came before our salads were consumed. She pushed aside our salad plates, left them on the table, then set our main courses down. The salad plates remained until we actually flagged down our non existent waiter to have them cleared. One entree was the salmon with shrimp and lump crab. It came out with just the Salmon ( nothing else) so obviously we sent it back. It came back with the shrimp undercooked like it was all done in a rush rather than done right. I used to like Elways but I will not eat at the downtown location again.
John Elway not actually there...but absolutely worth it. It's inside the hotel.
Nice atmosphere. Great service. Good food! Nice location
We had brunch and the food and service was excellent.
My wife had the small filet and I had the bison NY strip. Two of the best steaks we’ve ever had.
It was good but not amazing. For the price point, I am expecting amazing. Three people three drinks it was 360 including tip. When I drop 100.00 per plate I want amazing good food. They missed the Salad we ordered but that was ok as we ended up with exactly the correct amount of food. The funny part is the Elway’s at the airport is better for less.
It was great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It was a good steak but nothing extra ordinary. Was like every other steak joint- good steak just over price for an average piece of beef.
Elegant Steak House with incredible food and service that never lets you down.
Sharables we’re too small… they were not family style
Stephen was awesome and so was Claude
Take some notes from Ruth’s Cris… it’s the baseline for a great steakhouse
A wonderful new find. We love the atmosphere and staff. Hostess Becky is particularly outstanding. This is going to become our go-to restaurant when we want to celebrate.
Seems like the quality of food didn’t match the price since the last time we were there. Two steaks at our table were cooked incorrectly. We sent one back and when it returned it was a different cut of meat and this time it was underdone. Didn’t feel like sending it back a third time. The ahi tuna used to be my favorite dish but the quality of fish didn’t seem up to par. There are too many steak houses to choose from to be disappointed. Needless to say we won’t be back.
This place wasn't great. Everything is expensive and it wasn't very good.
Great service. Food was excellent. Only negative experience was the constant beeping of fire alarm for the first 20 min we were there.
Great food and service. Stephan was excellent as a server. Don't expect to get out for less than $200 for a couple.
Brothers birthday on Halloween.
Great food, Great service
Buffalo Rib Eye is the way to go for steak. It was the best steak at the table. Prime rib eye and prime sirloin were just ok. They were a bit over seasoned and over cooked. The crab legs were cold and not fresh. Take a pass on those for sure! The au gratin potatoes and baked potato were excellent side dish choices & we highly recommend the artichoke appetizer. The aioli dip for the artichoke is phenomenal. There is also unique jalapeño cheddar bread in the bread basket that my family loved as well. The devil dog dessert was too rich for our liking, but the warm cookies were a perfect ending with a delicious espresso martini. The service was top notch. We never had an empty wine or water glass
Excellent food and service! One of the best steaks I’ve ever had.
The food and service needs to match the price. I don’t have a problem paying more but the food and service need to equate.
Wasn’t impressed with the quality of food, kind of felt like cafeteria dining with business people. Service was wonderful.
We have been to Elway’s in the past to celebrate special occasions. The pricing has increased significantly over the past 12 months. This will likely be our last visit for a while.
I realize costs are going up everywhere. Even the sides portions have been reduced significantly, the least expensive thing on the menu.
Opportunity for us to try other steak restaurants.
Food was delicious, just over priced.
Food was not cooked steak came rare and cold asked for it medium. Salmon was cold and cooked. First lobster tail was cooked but was cold the replacement was not fully smelt fishy tasted like salt water it was soft and mushy just like old stale lobster does
Waiter was very good
Nothing like the Elways we experienced in cherry creek. They couldn't get the steak cooked right and the ambience was very run down
Staff was great and food was amazingly
We had a wonderful dinner at Elway’s and can’t thank our server Scott enough for making our meal so enjoyable!
Food and service was great, but it was super loud, hard to hear people across the table.
I wish staff didn’t have to mask.
Loved everything else
Had dinner at Elway’s on a Sunday night and it wasn’t very busy but had a decent crowd. The service was very good but the food was a little disappointing. I ordered a salad that had iceberg lettuce, (some of the lettuce was brown) cherry tomatoes, bacon (very little) and some egg. It was very basic and not worth the $14.00 price tag. I also ordered the bone in ribeye for $78.00 that was pretty good but I excepted more for that price. I had cheesecake for dessert and that was very good and the best part of the meal.
Very lovely evening
