Elway's Cherry Creek Ratings and Reviews
I love Elway's for many reasons. The food is always outstanding, and the service attentive but not overbearing. Rick was our waiter; he was outstanding. On this visit, my guests each had the Cajun grouper and I had a perfectly cooked and seasoned filet. The grouper was outstanding, according to my guests who had never had it before. They are still talking about how good it was. We each had a small Caesar salad--dressing is the best I've ever tasted. We shared some sides and desserts and were pleased with the green beans, French fries, key lime pie, and a cake with fresh strawberries. I've never had bad or even "just okay" meal at Elway's and will continue to bring guests here for as long as I can.
5 of us came post-Thanksgiving (Friday). We had excellent apps: onion rings, baked potato cheese dip, grilled artichoke, and spinach-artichoke dip. Main courses were prime rib (2 of us), bone in rib eye (2 of us), and ny strip. All were perfectly prepared! Sides: mashed potatoes, cauliflower, fries. Dinner was really delicious, service was very good (had a mix up at one point with the wrong apps going to the wrong people and wrong side dishes going to the wrong people but staff were quick to fix it). Drinks were great. One of our favorite restaurants!
Have been to Elway’s several time and always had good food. This time two of the four meals had over cooked steaks. The sides did not really serve more than two and the salads were minuscule. The oysters were good though. Disappointed. With many options in Denver it is doubtful we will return
I’ve been coming here for years and it’s usually so good. Our salads were small and the lettuce was limp. We had asked for cheddar cheese on our salads and there was barely any. My friend asked for more cheese and our waiter brought a tiny little container of cheese. It was the same thing with the dressing. The rolls that were served were like rocks. We did complain and ask for more. They were a slight improvement.
All in all I couldn’t believe this was the same Elway’s that I love! Our waiter was very nice so that helped a little. The food quality was sub par!
Oh man. For the experience we had I might as well have gone to Outback Steakhouse.
Elways holds itself to give high paying customers a wonderful experience, but other than the water fountain there wasn't much to remember.
My husband ordered the ribeye and my son a bone in NY strip. It was good... but not worth the amount paid for. Basically we could have done just as well in our backyard. Except ours would have been tender and not dry. Speaking of dry, my Elways salmon was doused in a, admittedly, delicious sauce. However, I think they intentionally went a little heavy on the sauce to give the illusion of something juicy and tender (the salmon itself was dry) and flavorful (the salmon itself was bland).
Service was OK. But this is Elways. I expect to have waitstaff go above and beyond. Take our coats, bus our tables before the main meal arrives, wipe off the crumbs from our ridiculously dry and almost unedible bread.
The sides are advertised to be "family sized"... I make my toddler eat more broccoli than what they served the three of us.
Overall, I think that I would have had a better experience at Bonefish because I would have at least gotten respectably what I paid for. Overall just not worth the money. But hey, that fountains looking good.
Been to Elways a couple of times but this time we were very disappointed. The food was not worth the price. 4 medium steaks, 1 serving of mashed potatoes, 1 serving of asparagus, 5 salads, soft drinks and water, 2 deserts (no alcohol) came to $322? We didn't even get bread plus all this was on the lunch menu. Nothing spectacular about any of the meals but the price.
Food was incredible, but service was abysmal. When we arrived a table wasn’t ready, we were offered a seat at the bar and told the bar would be quieter than the dining room, well is was almost impossible to hear.
Service was a joke. Our food, dessert, and check were all wrong. One person would come and put down a steak knife, minutes later someone would take it away, and then the steak was served with no knife. One steak was over cooked while the other wasn’t even seasoned. After the trouble over the over cooked steak, I decided to ignore the rest of the issue and just not come back.
My husband and I have been at Elway’s one other occasion. Elway’s Eggs Benedict was Awesome, and have been Raving over it since the first time we ate there. For the amount of food that you get, the price is definitely fair! This time we took our best friends who had come down from Vail! They loved it also!!!
We needed some attitude adjustments this evening.
One manager tries to be an arrogant intimidating jerk to customers! Some wait staff may think we are there choosing Elways for their convenience? Our wait staff go some things wrong. Seemed put out about our eating concerns. Also don't like the birthday prestation desert placed and table and then others order desert and it's all out of sync. I didn't even get to the strange interaction regarding tha booth that cut my arm and tore a St. John jacket
