Elway's Cherry Creek Ratings and Reviews
This is man in my life's favorite place to go out for a good steak dinner the who is fantastic in the service is second to that they always take really good care of us anytime we have an opportunity to go to Elway's we jump at it because this is a fantastic place
Made a last minute decision to have a quick meal out. Decided on Elway's and we were not disappointed. Not very hungry so only order onion rings and smash burger, which the two of us shared. Does this small order or service was excellent and could not have been better if we were spending BIG bucks. Meal was enjoyable and food tasted great.
The spinach dip appetizer was great and love the bread and au gratin potatoes! Although it didn’t taste like real butter for the bread. People are coming to eat steak so they really cannot be too worried about cholesterol, so why not serve real butter?! We love this restaurant and even though it’s a little on the expensive side, the quality of food is amazing.
We were excited to go to Elways , we normally go to Shanahans for special date night, but decided to try Elways. We were disappointed with the food , don’t mind spending the money but what we received wasn’t worth the price. Lobster tails were very small for the price, the food overall just wasn’t up to par. We will stick with Shanahans
The night started off by Elways being on about a 20-30 minute delay, we therefore had to sit in the lounge and eat so we could make our plans later that evening. We ordered a 16oz Strip and 12oz Filet "Medium" which both came our rare in the middle and bleeding very much. The steaks were sent back and re cooked and came back crispy on the outside which was underwhelming. Nothing seemed to be done to correct the issue or send someone over besides our waitress to ask how the steaks were and talk about the issue.
Steak houses can be pricey so we saved this for our anniversary. It was worth every penny. All the staff was thoughtful and attentive. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the food AND the wine selections. My husband had steak and a lobster tail. I had the salmon. Both the steak and the fish were really awesome choices. There was some to take home left that we ate 2 days later and it reheated to perfection. Of course, we finished the dessert on the spot -- no leftovers on that plate!
Best burger imaginable! I love well done hamburgers with a crust. I got everything I wished for and more--the french fries were hot and cripsy-- perfect. My husband split the smash burger with me as it's just too much meat, but it's so good, I'm sure I could have eaten it all. 1 burger, 1 fry, 1 caesar salad, 1 beer with tip $50. We splurged for our xmas eve lunch but definitely too expensive for an every day meal.
Elway's Cherry Creek is a handsome restaurant with very good to excellent food. The service typically is friendly but not overly so, which we think is perfect. It is, that said, a steakhouse, which for some folks is a good thing and for others not so much. Side dishes are extra, as is typical with steakhouses. The wine list is good but overpriced, another feature of most steakhouses. Our meals were delicious, including the rack of lamb and Elway's salmon. The front of the house staff were very accommodating, shifting our party to a more appropriate booth, as our infant grandson was in our party of five.
They phoned us and pressured us to be on time, or they would give our table away. On time and not many other people were there. We ordered an appetizer that came out incorrectly, we went with it and ate it, it was good. The split entree had a hair in it. Asked for breakfast potato’s was served mashed potatoes (????). The other appetizer we ordered never came, we were informed at the end of our meal that they couldn’t make it. Not what our Christmas Eve brunch should have been. The crowds they expected stayed away.
We have been here a few times and the food is always great, exceptional service, etc. This time was a little different. It took our server several minutes to come back on a couple occasions. We also never had the appropriate silverware when we needed it. IE: steak knives with lamb appetizer (had to ask), dessert was there before coffee, spoons for coffee, etc. We will come back but will probably sit in the bar area, not the restaurant.
