This restaurant was very small and quiet. The service was exceptional as was the food and wine. All items were reasonably priced.
The food at Elm Street is excellent and the service is good. However, it's a small space, it's extremely loud---energetic does not begin to cover it---and the tables are so packed in, there is literally less then 3 inches between the tables lined up in the middle of the room. I hadn't been there in a while so had forgotten how tight it is--or maybe they added an extra table or two since I was last there. Anyway, although I really enjoyed the food, I will not be going back.
Love this place-the staff, the food, the intimacy of the space.
We have eaten here before and enjoyed it. Service was terrible. Ordered no starter and main arrived 7 minutes after order. It was cold and microwaved.
Prompt friendly service and excellent food. In and out under an hour which was great for a lunch with business colleagues.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch at Elm Street Oyster House. The Butternut suuash soup with crab meat was an unexpected delight. The steamers were done to perfection and virtually sandless! It is hard to decide what to order since everything is so well prepared and presented. The servers are polite and very helpful about the ingredients in the dishes served.
Fresh and served with a flair!
Love the biscotti ❤️
We all enjoyed nice fresh oysters and littleneck clams on the half shell. We each had a salad with 1) fabulous salmon; 2) lovely seared scallops and 3) grilled shrimp. We were warmly welcomed by the manager (owner?) and our server was terrific. The wines by the glass were quite good, especially the Cab. All in all, a wonderful evening at a loverly neighborhood spot. Greenwich is lucky to have ESOH.
Very enjoyable. Pricey, guess since its a fish/seafood restaurant. Sunday night is a good night to go since wine is half off. Dining room is small, bit tight. Abdul pleasant and good waiter.
Food was excellent. Appetizer prices were higher than should have been
Had dinner at the bar at Elm Street Oyster House and it was just fantastic. The restaurant is very small, but cozy and inviting. The food was outstanding from start to finish - well prepared, fresh and beautifully presented. The bar staff were excellent and there is a decent selection of wine and beer. Limited top shelf selection in terms of beverages, however. To top it all off, the music playlist prepared by the staff was impeccable, appropriate and really enjoyable! I was visiting the area, but if I lived here, I would definitely be a regular at this location to the extent I could justify the prices!
Very welcoming place
Everything we ordered was delicious! You should go and enjoy!
It's quite obvious the Busboy cooked our meals. Ive been going there on and off for about 5 years. My calimari with anchovies and hot peppers- was inedible. This doesn't mean you you open a can or anchovies and a bottle of hot peppers and dump them on soggy calimari. It's the first time I've returned a meal in a restaurant probably in 20 years. Very tired food and a pushy waiter. Add that to my dates lobster mac n cheese at 26$ which had 3 pieces of lobster and watery pasta. They have to install a change at the leadership level. I think they've become comfortable with their historical success.
Whole menu is delicious especially the oysters and the tuna. Burgers are said to be tasty as well.
The swordfish was fresh and fabulous! The complimentary biscotti that’s is served with coffee is a great touch.
we had a lovely holiday dinner. The specials were outstanding. Thank you!
Very disappointing. We arrived at 11:30 am for lunch which is when they open and there wasn’t a waiter available. The service was poor and the food was mediocre. The bathrooms weren’t clean (men’s and women’s) and the chair rail next to the table was dirty and dusty. Actually shocked this place is in the middle of Greenwich. Would not return.
The entire restaurant was packed and they sat us on top of a heater and we were boiling! They finally turned it off halfway through dinner. 3/4 if us got the special which was the grouper. It came out cold and the fish didn’t taste very fresh, yuck. The sides of broccolini and potatoes weren’t good either. Wouldn’t go back to this place.
The pan fried oysters are fabulous. And the flounder special was superb! Best sea food around.
Always great food. One of my favorite restaurants in Greenwich.
excellent service....and food
have eaten there many times and enjoyed every visit
Always great! The buffalo shrimp is amazing and the service is prompt and efficient
It is our usual practice to come in for a very late brunch on Sundays when the wine is 1/2 price and have at least 3 doz. oysters!
A go to spot in Greenwich. I suggested it to a friend and he said it was one of his favorite spots too!
Waited for a table almost half an hour past reservation time. Then was required to close out bar tab rather than transfer to dinner check. Noise level was so loud had hard time having a conversation with friends. The owner did provide some fried calamari for the wait but only two of the four of us eat it.
The service and food were fresh and delicious. Unfortunately the other issues made it much less enjoyable. The table was packed into middle of room and wasn't very comfy either. I'd go on a weeknight when not as crowded next time.
Service and food good, though I though the flounder special was fairly bland. Husband was happy with his choices.
We were in the area and decided for a quick dinner on Sunday evening. We were a bit surprised as there was hardly any patrons. We settled for simplicity and had appetizers or salads. We had the macadamia nut encrusted salmon salad which was as good as ever. The east coast oysters were fabulous as was the lobster bisque. It is a nice place to go and the food is marvelous.
The food was very good tonight. Oysters great as usual. We both had the fish special and it was great
