Elm Street Oyster House Ratings and Reviews
I had the stuffed flounder which was good, and my husband was happy with the blackened swordfish. However, I would have ordered the tuna if it had not been so pricey at $42. I think this is a rich person's diner. I think there are other places to go for good fish with better value.
We came here for my boyfriend's belated birthday lunch! It was so wonderful. The food was phenomenal and the service was fantastic! We had all of our questions answered and also received great recommendations from the servers. We will definitely make the 1.5 drive to go back again soon. Highly recommend!!!
I was traveling to Greenwich on business and found this restaurant through TripAdvisor. The reviews were spot on! While the restaurant was a little noisy, it had a vibrant, joyful feel. From the entre to the dessert, the service was impeccable and the food was positively delicious.
Although located on the water, Greenwich has a dearth of seafood restaurants, so i keep wanting Elm Street to be better than it is.
Elm Street is a decent , though very expensive, seafood joint, loud enough to shatter glass, crowded, and with efficient if impersonal service.
You can get a good meal if you pay a lot, just don't expect anything more than a good meal in a crowded, noisy small place.
Note, if you order the paella ask them to crack the lobster claw for you - mine didn't come cracked, and there were no implements to do it myself, so i threw it away rather than go through the hassle of getting a waiter's attention etc etc.
Very disappointed in the food. The salads were tired. Given the availability of high quality bread, there was no excuse for the white bread that was served. Broccoli rabe was delivered cold and swimming in oil. Our entrees were tasteless. And the restaurant smelled of stale cooking grease. Not the place it used to be.
i make a point of dining at the elm street oyster house every time i come to greenwich..i work for a major department store retailer in Arkansas. we don't have the seafood of the quality that the elm street has, so again, i wouldn't miss out on at least one visit there..i've read about the pearl chain of restaurants and the elm street oyster house surely has the rest of them beat..
