Our server, Matthew was not attentive. We had to ask for more coffee. We had to ask for more water. We had to ask for cream when he brought the coffee. Our empty plates were never cleared by our server, but rather by other servers and staff members and not in a timely fashion. We were not asked how our dining experience was during our visit. Because of our terrible experience, we may very well NOT return. I cannot recommend Ellington's to anyone based on my last visit. For the $90+ price per person I was charged, I feel ripped off.
My wife and I went to Ellyngton's with our two children for Valentine's brunch. I had the Moet Chandon option. The food was tasty, as usually...especially the chilled seafood section. The service was definitely sub-par. It didn't seem like there was enough servers, as we repeatedly had to track down our waiter to get more water, champagne, etc. Definitely not the level of service I have come to expect from Ellyngton's, especially with being charged almost $400. I don't know if we'll be back.
Jerome and Kathleen are awesome at front of house, and all the waiters are first class.
Good service, good brunch, excellent environment. Pricey
Incredible Sunday brunch. Pricey but the value is there 100%
As always it was just excellent. Food was wonderful and service was outstanding. As nice as the place is you should have a dress code. Folks in t-shirts is really unacceptable
The BEST brunch in Denver! The Best brunch in Denver.
We had a wonderful time.Laid back feel, outstanding service and fine food made for a happy birthday dinner!
Service is top notch! The menus is always good and they will catre to any food preference.
As a Denver native and descendant of Denver natives since 1877, I was thrilled that the Brown Palace lived up to all expectations. Service still excellent after all these years.
Birthday Brunch Celebration
This was an outstanding spot for brunch , and for celebrating my Mother's 90th Birthday. The table we were seated at was perfect. It was quiet enough so my 90 year old Mom could take in all the sights, smells and sounds with the live music playing quietly in the background. It truly is a wonderful spot for a special occasion.
I thought I made reservations for brunch on Sunday but that was a mistake. We ended up going for breakfast on Saturday. Keith was our server. He was super busy but he really did a great job and was very attentive despite being so busy. My husband and brother both ordered the lobster and crab omelette. Which they said was the best omelette they ever had. The servings of the lobster or crab weren't shy. I got the eggs Benedict and they were way better than the ones I had elsewhere just a couple of mornings prior. I like eggs Benedict and theirs were cooked perfectly. The lobster and crab omelette is less than $20 and we all agreed it was a good value.
Thanks to BP for a consistently excellent experience, and particular gratitude to Jerome for being the highlight of every visit to Ellyngton’s.
Best brunch I've ever been to. Great service ambiance etc. Huge selection of food. All prepared nicely.
Delicious smoked fish, a choice selection of meats, cheese, and pastries, fresh jumbo prawns and other delicacies complement a wide variety of brunch selections.
The food was ok. Not worth the price. The service was great.
My daughter-in-law and I had lunch there because I was fortunate to have a gift card. The food and the service were both excellent. We both had the lobster BLT and I would recommend it to all my lobster-loving friends. It's a special place to dine regardless of the occasion.
Fabulous! The food, service, and ambiance for which the Brown is renowned. My only complaint was that the live music - while very good - was a little bit loud. Probably because we were seated right next to the musicians.
Best Brunch in Colorado!!
We’ll be back!!!
Highly recommend it!!
We went with another couple, who like us, were celebrating a special anniversary. The four of us had a great time together. If you are hungry, enjoy a variety of delicious foods, appreciate top service and a lovely atmosphere, are never rushed, and want a good value for the price then Sunday brunch at Ellyngton's should be at the top of your list. We've enjoyed this brunch for several years, and there is none better in the metro area. We will return.
This is the best brunch in Denver. Everything was excellent!
We have enjoyed Ellyngton's Sunday morning brunches on several occasions. They really set the standard for luxury brunches in Denver, with their extensive selection of delicious dishes, the lovely setting, a high quality pop/jazz trio, and good service. However, we found the Saturday brunch to be nothing special. The room was practically empty, which may have been a factor in the lackluster service - long waits for drinks, failure of the server to explain the choice of selections, when one of our party ordered a chardonnay, server's forgetting to bring the breads ordered until the kitchen staff assumed they were not wanted, and threw them out. The food quality was good, but nothing special. I have had corned-beef hash with eggs of at least equal quality at Village Inn, at a fraction of the cost. Still a very attractive setting, but, overall, quite a disappointment.
What a great way to start 2018. We had 11 friends and neighbors for "Breakfast at the Brown'.
Everyone had a great time.
We had a wonderful time. Group of 8 celebrating a 75th birthday. We had great service and the food was delicious. They gave us a complimentary dessert to help us celebrate.
We ate here two days in a row during our stay at the Brown Palace. Due to limited options, we had the exact same breakfast on both days. The second day (Saturday) the omelet and potatoes were very oily and the coffee was very weak. The breakfast was better on our first day (Friday), but still not the quality or range of options that we would expect. Servers were very nice and helpful. Although it took a while to get coffee refills.
Christmas decorations provided a festive atmosphere. The meal was included as part of a breakfast package. The menu included typical breakfast items plus some original dishes. I ordered a custom omelette and my companion ordered a medley of tomatoes, eggs, potatoes, spinach and a cheese. Both meals had a good flavor and the portions large. The orange juice tasted fresh squeezed and was delicious. My decaf coffee was fresh. The only down side was our breakfast was delivered to another table and we sat waiting. The staff discovered the mistake, got our dishes to the table and comped the meal. They apologized many times, I felt they correctly made this a good experience and I would return.
The atmosphere is great for quiet conversations and the staff are attentive.
Anton our waiter was extremely good, best service we have had in as long as I can remember. I had the eggs benedict and they were amazing. Topped off with some great EBT.
The food was good, but over-priced. Service was certainly better than average, but not what I would expect for such an "upscale" establishment.
