Ellyngton's at the Brown Palace Ratings and Reviews
We went for their Sunday brunch. The selection was amazing and all the food was great. The baked goods are all made in-house and the dessert buffet was one of a kind. We were there for Halloween brunch and the price was almost $20 more than the normal price, which we didn’t expect and I think that did make it a bit overpriced. Still - a great way to start the Sunday.
The Champagne Brunch was outstanding. Besides offering a carving station, sushi bar, made-to-order omelette station, they also had a made-to-order pancake station. For dessert, they had a double chocolate fountain offering both milk & white chocolate, standard dessert pairings, fresh dark hot chocolate and a bananas foster station. An excellent brunch for special occasions!!
My wife and I came to Denver for our 37th wedding anniversary. We are from Memphis, Tennessee. I surprised her with the Sunday Brunch. The decor was perfect. The food was diverse and very delicious no matter the palate. The service left nothing to be desired. The accomplished musicians seasoned the atmosphere with some soothing melodies. I love Denver and my wife thinks it is a good place to visit. She now insists whenever we come to Denver it must have a Sunday stay over so she can have "HER BRUNCH FIX'. THANK YOU FOR ALLOW US TO STROLL DOWN THE AISLES OF ONE OF THE TOP BRUNCHES IN THE WORLD.
Brunch on Sunday is always a treat here! Moderate spread of very nicely prepared items in a lovely dining room. Attentive service and a musical background combo to entertain. Coupled with the optional bottomless mimosas it is one of our go-to places in Denver.
The Brown Palace is a historic gem in Denver. The architecture of the hotel is outstanding. We took the guided tour of the hotel, and enjoyed learning about the history of the building. Lunch in the Ellyngton Room was first class. I would recommend the Brown Palace as a definite must do while in Denver.
Table service was slow. Had to ask for silverware, coffee and juice repeatedly. We were celebrating a birthday and the waiter forgot. Delivered a cupcake in a to go box with an unlit candle. Waiters bumped into our chairs repeatedly as they passed, but still couldn't refill our glasses or clear our table. Waiter tried to usher us out after :45 minutes.
But, food was very good and enjoy the historic hotel. Very sad that the table service was so bad.
We received horrible service from the time we walked in. We sat at the table for over 15 minutes and only for drinks after I mentioned it while another waiter was walking by. The waiter was very inattentive
My wife enjoyed her food. I did not. My eggs Benedict was way over cooked. I would not recommend this restraint for its cost.
For the price, I was a little disappointed with the portion size of my steak salad. There was a decent amount of steak, but there also was a good amount of chewy fat on it. The dessert size was small for the price as well. Love the rolls and iced tea though.
Brown Palace brunch is to die for! This is how hospitality is done! Its pricey, but well worth it for a special occasion. If I have ever experienced more perfect food quality and more perfect service, I can't not remember when. Brown Palace Sunday brunch is the bomb! (Especially if you are lucky enough to sit in Riley's section.)
The Crab and other seafood was superb, very fresh and high quality. Linked with the Champagne this was a delightful, unrushed dining experience. Our server Riley was very attentive, but not intrusive. All in all, we would highly recommend this Brunch, one of Denver's finest.
Excellent, old-world, classy restaurant. The food was spectacular, and they went out of their way to make it special for my mom's 80th birthday. We probably overstayed (we were there until 2:30 or so), so if you are going to linger, I suggest an earlier reservation. (Ours was at 1:00.)
We went to Brunch for a birthday celebration; the food & service was great. The only downside was that the prices they charged were $20 higher per person than what the web site stated. For 8 people that is $160 bucks out of our pocket that shouldn't of happened. It will make me seriously consider whether we will go back or not.
Sunday Brunch for my wifes' birthday. Only reason it didn't get 5-Stars on all lines, was that we were seated in the back area where it was much noisier and they seem to have trouble controlling the overall room temp.
Bit pricey, but knew that going there. Great place for special occasions. We'll go again.
Words alone cannot describe how great this Sunday Brunch is and since I'm not a millennial, I don't take (endless) photos of my food so I can't post those as "proof". Service is perfection which goes along with each and every item on the buffet. A wonderful trio provides live music to complete the ambience. Coffee and juice is included and champagne (yes, real champagne) is bottomless for either $10 or $20 more depending on which is ordered. That's a very fair price and also allows a table to make their own decisions on having bubbly, or not and if so, which one. It's now Tuesday when I type this and I think that I can finally eat something later today. Maybe.
the service ruined big part of the experience. I told them about the birthday but they forgot until before we left they brought a cupcake and apologized for forgetting. The seating team might've worked in any field but definitely not hospitality. The one who brought the water was so sick he was shaking and dropped water all over the table.
I hope it was perfect because it was a special occasion and I really loved the history of the place and the food is amazing. the Live music was great too.
We have enjoyed Ellyngton's at the Brown Palace in the past but I think it's time for them to upgrade a few things. For starters the food, don't get me wrong the meats, desserts and side dishes were great, but I think they need to come up with a few more high-class items. And secondly, the champagne didn't come around as fast as I would have liked. But all and all dining there brought back a lot of good memories.
Ellyngton`s is elegant enough to be pretentious. It is anything but. Not only is the food outstanding, but the staff, all of them, were warm, friendly and seemed to really like each other. All of the above is a recipe for a fantastic and memorable adventure! I highly recommend the Sunday brunch. Thank you Ellyngton`s!
The food was so amazing! The seafood is fresh and the omlette bar has so many choices. The Eggs Benedict are to die for because the hollandaise sauce has truffle shavings. There is also freshly made sushi and a carving station. I'm not a big sweets person but there is a chocolate fountain with white and milk chocolate (possibly dark), made to order bananas fosters, and delicately delectable chocolates, and cakes. I wanna go back soon!
