Thank you for choosing to dine with us at The Brown Palace Hotel and Spa, "Where the World Registers."

Elyington's is currently going through a major interior redesign. We are very excited to see what the new Elyngton's will bring to the Brown Palace. While the renovation is going on, we will proudly serve our ala carte breakfast in Palace Arms Monday -Saturday, and will be serving Sunday brunch in the 5280 room on the 2nd floor from 10am-2pm.

Our Sunday brunch is offered exclusively as buffet. We are so delighted to bring back the Sunday Champagne Brunch that Denver has grown to love, and has been missing since 2020. Some examples of what is offered on our buffet is a made-to-order omelet station, hand-carved prime rib, biscuits and gravy, and coming soon, a made-to-order crepe station.

Beware- The restaurant is actually flooded and under repairs. No one's fault of course, but would be nice if this was posted or shared so I didn't plan a special brunch to be held in a conference room. Regardless, the food was okay- definitely not worth the cost! The frittata was bland and watery. Fruit generic. Sausage-gravy casserole dish thing was horrible. The only tasty item was from the carving station. The staff was lovely, very kind, courteous, and Jerome was amazing. But the rest of the experience was a disappointment.

This was our first time back to Ellyngtons for brunch after Covid. Because of a burst pipe, they have moved the brunch upstairs to the second floor. The rooms that it’s housed in are nowhere near as elegant as the old location. We were seated at one of the tables closest to the piano player, which was nice, but can be a little loud. The food selection has decreased with fewer options and not as good as I remember. They have no antipasto selections other than cheese with no crackers or bread slices, no sushi, no waffle station, and when I asked about them about making an eggs Benedict for me, which they used to do, he said the kitchen closed an hour ago, which would’ve meant 11 o’clock even though brunch is not over until 2:00 which I found a little odd. Most of the food is actually located in the hallway that people have to walk by to get into the restaurant which I don’t think is a good set up and for $75 without champagne, I don’t think the experience lived up to the price. Lastly, they used to have an all inclusive champagne option, but now you have to either buy it by the glass or purchase a bottle of champagne if you want champagne. Hopefully it will return to what it was when the old location is open again.

I wasn't going to ruin my Mom's 80th birthday at the one place she loves more than any other, but 75$ per plate for a brunch buffet was extremely expensive. I was pretty shocked to see a lack of any dress code; people in shorts and ball caps, it felt like we were at IHop truthfully. Especially since the buffet was pretty basic; fruit, bacon and sausage links, over cooked tough pancakes, oatmeal, biscuit egg sliders and an omelette station for breakfast and lunch was various meats with some potatoes/veggies. Like I said definitely not worth 75$. We were expecting maybe 50$ per person or even a separate menu to order something less expensive (my wife had a bariatric surgery so she can only eat a very small portion, she ate maybe 5$ worth of food). Service was awesome, accommodation was top tier and Mom got to say hello to a lot of people from her past, but we won't be back.

Absolutely horrible experience! I booked this for a nice sit down brunch and instead it turned into a serve yourself buffet at $75 a plate. The food was not worth it with little to no variety and nothing from their usual menu. It was hosted in a ballroom due to renovations but all these changes would've been nice to know ahead of time. I felt trapped as I could not cancel my reservation and feared a charge if I simply left. DO NOT GO! STAY AWAY!

I get the flood and need to renovate but it was kept quiet from me and I would not have known prior unless I'd left a voice mail and request for a call back. So the upstairs location was hardly the same as being in the downstairs restaurant and felt exactly what it was - a makeshift campsite. It did not help that the food was all over the place - why not all in the same spot. Given the circumstances the reduced food choices was unacceptable. No salmon? No bread? No crackers? c'mon!!! I don't eat meat so I'm a cheap date for you given I ate only cheese and potatoes. Given this is my third visit for brunch (lucky me) frankly this was a huge disappointment. A call to discuss this would be nice. The staff were delightful however, so no complaints in that respect.

We were very disappointed that we were not notified about not having brunch in Ellyngton’s. The room was like a cafeteria setting with a piano. The staff seemed to spread thin as well. The food was good but we expected to have menu options as presented online and on opentable. I waited for quite sometime to have the Sunday Brunch and was just sorta drab.

I wish they would have said brunch had to be moved to the second floor. I would have canceled. The room Brunch was held in was freezing I I couldn’t even see the piano player. I took my friends, they had never been before and they will definitely not be back. Service was not good. We had to refill our our coffee and water. It was so over priced for the lack of service and the lame room we were in was so disappointing!! I wish we did not go to brunch yesterday at the Brown Palace. Unfortunately I would NOT recommend. I give them a C-

Insanely disappointed. We have been coming here for a decade. Dirty plates, no seafood, no care for diet restrictions, cold food, staff did not replenish buffet enough so had to pick thru items to find fresh options. No desserts. We complained to mgmt, nothing was done. They did not comp our meal just a mere apology after paying $300. We heard it is a chef problem and that main person needs to go before they ruin Sunday brunch. Would never go back!

We were excited to try the brunch after staying a night here. I had heard it was epic. To be honest, the food and atmosphere was worse than a holiday Inn. Pre-made buffet with soggy pancakes and cold bacon. Dated dining room. $75/ per person

Would have been nice to know that Ellyngton's wasn't open & that we were moved to a different semi-functioning restaurant. I really don't like leaving bad reviews, but food was cold, dry, not cooked properly. Services was nice, but really expected more from the Brown Palace that's why I drove 100+ miles to visit.

Breakfast at The Brown has been a Christmas tradition in my family for over 25 years, we look forward to it and have always enjoyed it. We made reservations six weeks ago with extended family to join. This year I am pretty disappointed and feel a little cheated. Ellyngton’s had a pipe burst and the breakfast was moved upstairs. The staff did great at adjusting and the service was great, like always. However, the food was subpar, comparable to a regular Marriott breakfast buffet. There were no orders coming from the kitchen, no freshly made omelets, things that have always been included in the cost of breakfast. They still charged $40/person for half the experience. 😕

This was so disappointing. We were celebrating my mothers 87th birthday. While we knew the Brown palace had not gone back to their amazing brunch buffets at Ellyngyon’s, we imagined the menu based plated brunch would be equally special. Instead, we had mediocre service, tepid ungarnished food with diner level presentation. Actually less than diner level - at least Waffle House includes an orange slice. No plate was garnished. My crab Oscar omelette had broken hollandaise, sat drearily on a white plate with a sad bowl of past it’s prime fruit served on the side. Everyone at our table had a similar experience. I overheard two women in the restroom expressing the same disappointment. Which was compounded by the sign in the foyer extolling the prior amazing brunch.

We had a reservation set for 9:30am once we got there we were told they had a special event going on and our reservations were no longer good. Not sure why they wouldn’t tell us that before driving downtown. Then they offered us to go to the brown palace breakfast lounge that served coffee juice eggs and bacon for $30 per person! What a joke.

The menu seems to be substantially reduced, which was a disappointment. The two meals we out to our table in a very short time, but cold to touch. That does not meet my expectation for that type of establishment or price point. Reservations were very easy to make a few weeks out. The staff was just wonderful and very professional. Coffee was fantastic and cocktails were well made.

We were greeted with we’re taking on first come basis, we made reservation weeks ago and we’re on time, very disappointed. We come here every years on vacation, however quality has dropped in a big way. When we questioned, it was blamed on COVID even though my husband and I were the only ones wearing a mask. This was part of a big anniversary celebration, did not at all meet our expectations. Dress code they publish and our past experience not present. Wouldn’t return for this mediocre experience . It seems businesses are willing too embrace COVID as an excuse for poor quality or lack of services.
