Elliott's Oyster House Ratings and Reviews
Salmon was dry and tasteless, as were the prawns and scallops. My husband had frequented the restaurant many years ago and was totally disappointed in his meal also, though his past experiences rated this place highly. The table/booth that we sat at was constantly drafty of cold air and moving to another table/booth was not possible due to unavailability.
Very busy. We had a reservation and got our table on time. Food took a very long time to come and when it did some of it was cold. Had to send one meal back because the steak was cold. Others already had their food so when his came back, finally, all others were finished
This was a family weekend get away and had hoped to have a nice meal out. Some of the food was excellent but it wasn’t consistent
Would opt for another restaurant next time in seattle
Dining at Elliott's is always a delight! From the moment you walk in the door, you are treated with a level of service second to none. The waiters and waitresses and incredibly helpful in narrowing down the decision of their delectable menu (especially the oysters).
My family and I went to Elliott’s for an early holiday dinner and were overall pleased with our experience. I will say though for the price of dinner (for four of us it was nearly $300) I did expect a little more. Seattle is packed with excellent restaurants and while I enjoy my meal it was not worthy of the bill we received. I would go back for happy hour but not for a full dinner.
We were excited to have a family get together in Seattle and decided to enjoy some fresh seafood. We liked the location and the view of the restaurant, however that is where the positives stop. My husband ordered first, then the rest of the party. His meal was not written down correctly and he received the wrong entree... Scallops instead of Cippino, so his meal was taken back to the kitchen while we had our meals. We also ordered scallop skewer ala carte at 31.00, so he was going to eat some of that but it was cold, along with the scallops that my son ordered. We really wanted a good meal and to eat together. When we complained that the food was cold and that we hated that we had to complain... the waitress said "let me remove the offending dishes" they were not offending... just cold. She moved them to a tray next to the table, so now 3 of us have meals and 2 do not. My food was not exactly warm but I was not going to complain. Eventually we all did get served a meal, but eating together was not possible as we had to eat in shifts. The waitress suggested dessert on her as we had so many snafu's.... we did not want dessert so we declined. She brought the bill with no discount for having to eat in shifts or at least not having to pay for the meal served in error. The waitress after asked did take an amount off the bill and we appreciated it, but we asked if the manager knew because the waitress acted like she was paying for some of our meal. My husband stated that you know when so many things happened with the bad service when you bring a customer a full price bill, nothing changes if there is no repercussions. She said that the manager was aware of the situation, but we were not convinced. We would not ever recommend or return to this restaurant.
Having read many reviews and also been recommended from a friends friend, we were quite disappointed with the food presented on the night. The presentation was pub meal standard and the quality wasn't much better. On clearing out table the staff did not ask if the meal was ok or were there any issues, which was quite obvious due to the amount of food left on our plates (they were hardly touched). The location is great, the ambience was ok but both the food and the staff need an overhaul to enable the restaurant to continue to receive these rave reviews. Travelled to Seattle for Thanksgiving weekend which was great, will return but unfortunately won't be coming back to Elliott's.
We had booked a reservation a few days in advance. Even though it was extremely busy when we walked in, we were seated at our table within minutes. Great server, not too rushed. Made great recommendations on the fresh oysters. Meal was fantastic. We come to Seattle once a year and try to make Elliott's one of our stops when here. Never a disappointment.
We live in Seattle, so we're not the normal tourists that Elliot's gets due to their spectacular location on the waterfront. It just doesn't seem to matter to the hosts and waiters - they treat everyone with respect and pay attention to you as if you are a regular that they see several times a year. On to the food and beverage. First, we have an oyster Jones and they always have a fantastic selection. They have an amazingly diverse list of wines available by the glass (THANK YOU!) that aren't just chardonnay three ways. All of their seafood is fresh, perfectly cooked, and plated nicely. Their seafood rissoto's are to die for. The only think I think they could improve on is to offer more than just garlic mashed potatoes or fries as the carb side. The potatoes are meh. How about pilaf? Or basic risotto? That's all for the suggestions. We love this place!
This will probably be our last visit to Elliott's. The service was mediocre at best and the food only average. My king salmon was good in taste and quantity and the others in my party had the Dungeness crab which was ok. I would characterize our experience as below average for the high price. I expect more at this price point and will stick to the exceptional food and service at Cutters Crabhouse.
Generally, I️ have always enjoyed Elliott’s but not so much today. The oysters were good but the rest was subpar. The Crab & Shrimp sandwich had literally no crab or shrimp on it. The bread was awful and doughy. The server said, “I️ do not like to discuss complaints...’ but after awhile he did refund on lunch but not both. The chowder had no clams. Lots of potatoes though. Disappointed, always pleased in the past, likely my last visit to old Elliott’s.
The beautiful view goes without saying--I love watching the ferries come and go. Oysters are some of the best I've had. The soups are very good. The main dishes are a bit pricey, but worth it. Though I usually just get oysters and an appetizer or a soup. Creative wine list. My one complaint is that they charge for bread, and the bread portion is way too much for a single diner (which I often am). But that does not keep me from coming back--one of my go-to restaurants when I am in Seattle.
We went for Seattle Restaurant week and we're not disappointed! Salmon Oscar was perfectly prepared, especially the asparagus, Creme' brûlée was generous and scrumptious. Our server, Tom, was personable yet not intrusive to our conversation. Excellent in every way!
