About Elliott's on Linden
When philosophy and action proceed hand-in-hand, something extraordinary happens: a guiding principle is formed.
For Chef/Owner Mark Elliott, that principle is to serve the best and freshest locally produced agrarian products to his guests. It's a principle that was formed in Mark's childhood, and as a young apprentice chef in Southeastern England. Mark would further develop a deep connection to the green grocer, the baker, the fish monger, the butcher, the cheesemaker. Daily sourcing for the kitchens provisions was a way of life.
From this restaurant's first days, Chef Elliott has forged relationships with regional farmers to obtain their produce, livestock and artisan products when they are at the peak of freshness.
Today, Chef Elliott continues to serve guests cuisine crafted from the fresh ingredients that the area's farmers have to offer. It's a principle we live with every plate we serve.

Elliott's on Linden Ratings and Reviews
We were seated in the room where they have art work which is quieter than the main dining area, but not as special - a plus and a minus on New Year's Eve. It was a bit drafty and we had to go through an area that is being remodeled to get to our seats. The view of the renovation from our table detracted from the ambience.
Service was slow largely because our server would disappear for significant amounts of time. Once our order was taken, the food came out fairly quickly and was very good.
We are visiting from the west coast for a golf trip. Went in early to have a drink before dinner and the bar staff was fabulous, other patrons were friendly, and our waiter, Chad, was outstanding! We had a filet & b/c of a recommendation from our waiter, I try the elk. It was beyond fantastic, I will try anything once, but when I go back I will have it again! Apps , salads and wine list were also superb.
EOL came highly recommended by several people in the Pinehurst area as well as Yelp reviews where good. It was my husband's birthday so we were looking forward to a great evening with friends. Service was great. However, we were very disappointed in the taste of almost everything except for the flat bread and cheeses. Nothing about the meal wowed us like we had been expecting. We paid the over $400.00 bill - that was mainly due to the bottle of wine we chose - but I think one of us should enjoyed the meal and we all were left wanting to go get something else. Sorry - this would not be somewhere we would come back.
This was a restaurant recommended by our Realtor as we are interested in moving to the Pinehurst area. We were so glad he told us about Elliott's On Linden. If we do move here, it will be a place we will eat at often. Great food, great service, and the drinks were perfect!
Farm to table! Fresh everything! Had scallops and halibut tacos for starters! Both were terrific! Then had specialty burger and a glazed salmon cooked on wood plank! Ordered too much for two but they were tremendous! And desserts looks amazing but had no room! Must try this place!
We heard the food at Elliott's was good but didn't realize how good. Wow! Some of the best food I've had recently and creative without being pretentious. Love this place. I had the salmon special and my husband had the duck. We shared a scallop appetizer. Portions are reasonable and the wine list is notable. Linda, our server, knew her wines and made excellent wines by the glass recommendations.
I've been to Elliott's on Linden half a dozen times, perhaps more. It's has always been a solid A- and sometimes more eclectic that others. My last visit, however, was most certainly an A+. Appetizer, salad and entry (in my case Elk) were outstanding. Service was very good, and the server recommend an excellent glass of red wine to accompany my Elk. Elliott's is the most pricey dining venue in the Sandhills area but arguably worth it.
Creative menu; great service; careful preparation; perfect cup of coffee at the end of the meal. Linda was our server, and she was perfect in every way - attentive, easy to work with on special requests. We share a delicious pickled trout salad with root vegetables. Also shared calamari perfectly battered and fried. One main was the signature salmon, the other was sauerbraten. Could not manage dessert, but Linda brewed extra-strong coffee, per our request. Elliott's never disappoints us.
Have been a loyal customer until tonight. Steak. was over cooked. Service was unacceptable. We were brought our salad at the same time as our entree, and we were served the wrong dessert. The meal took almost 3 hours! Ridiculous. For such a high end meal as Elliot's, I expected better.
As locals who travel worldwide, Elliots was previously one of our favorites! The staff was well trained and attentive, the bartender was knowledgeable and the food was out of this world. That has changed as of present. Our server was very inattentive, almost inconvenienced that we had chosen to patronize Elliots that evening. The appetizer took 30 minutes to arrive (as well as our beverages). The food was served cold and we were always sitting, looking at our watches in hopes that one of the many, many staff that passed our table would kindly offer to simply refill a beverage, bring us flatware or serve food in a reasonable amount of time. We are open to returning to Elliots again, but the management needs to step in a re-evaluate the service and quality of the product.
The food was good, but the service was not. We were seated around 7pm and didn't receive our food until around 8:15-8:30. The restaurant didn't seem very busy, but it must have been too much for the kitchen to handle. We had to order espresso before our meal came just to stay motivated to eat!
Went with large family. Service was gracious and very informative. Food & wine selections were unique. Local cheeses and veggies were fresh & delicious. Grandparents loved chicken/waffle. Pork schnitzel was especially popular at our table. NY Strip was also a really nice cut and prepared to perfection. Highly recommend!
Obviously it was a bad night. Service attention was very slow and the meal was lacking the usual quality. Also, hard to get excited when the wait staff is unable to list the ingredients of a cheese plate as well as the specials unless you press the issue. Anniversary dinner where my wife said we should have gone somewhere else. Too bad. Most likely won't be back.
Anniversary dinner is a specialty for this location. Quiet table in a secluded corner. Champagne toast to start the meal. Wait staff was very friendly and made multiple suggestions for the meal. The GM is also a sommelier and spent time explaining the appropriate wine for our meals and went into a history of the wine and the area in which it was produced. Overall a very enjoyable meal as well and experience.
