Service was slow and poor. She didn't write it down and after 3rd person thought she should and then when it came still not right because cooks didn't understand her writing. Food slow to come. Only had one dessert menu for 4 people. I had to go get our silverware and napkins when food came.

Ellendale's Sunday Buffet was excellent. Some items fresh from their garden. Music wasn't my taste, but ok. Would prefer some nice background piano instead. Would definitely return.

The menu was totally misleading, they were out of three entrées, did not have some of the things that are posted on their website, The service was awful, we didn't get water for 45 minutes. The food was mediocre. I would not recommend it at all. The only reason we stayed is that we had an 88-year-old and a four-year-old and trying to find another place for eight people to eat at this time of night would've been impossible.

Beautiful setting complete with ducks and a pond! Food was excellent Southern style without being "fried chicken". The short ribs and shrimp and grits were delicious. Loved the pimento cheese.

We have dined at Ellendales maybe twice a year for many years now. Our most recent of visit of 6 diners is not one we would want to repeat. Our server seemed to be unaccustomed to that position. Even after pointing out that one glass of wine ordered failed to appear, it still took another 10 minutes for that beverage to appear. It took more than 20 minutes from the time it was orderd for that glass of wine to arrive at the table. A dish was ordered that did not resemble the description on the menu. One dish on the menu that we ordered was 'not available' ... that would have been nice to know before ordering. The music was good but too loud for the dining room. We had to raise our voices much more than comfortable to have conversation. Loud music is great when you are there to hear the music but not so much when it is there to provide ambience. Way too many great restaurants in Nashville to settle for sub-par.

Sadly our experience was unpleasant. Too loud in main dining room. They could have easily set the four of us (all 70 years and okder) in one of their smaller rooms. Very slow service. We had to wait and wait for everything. Freezing cold from air conditioning. Unfortunately not going back.

Food has been fabulous both times I've visited Ellendale's. The music Fri night was too loud in the main area (we had 7:15 reservations) to hear the waiter nor each other, so unfortunately we all ate dinner fast to get outside so we could enjoy each other's company also. Perhaps we'll sit outside or in another room next time.

The restaurant had a very relaxed feel – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. We definitely would return to try more dishes. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were very affordable.

most upsetting experience I've ever had at a restaurant and I was totally not expecting that. We had to find people to ask how we get food or place orders after 20 minutes. We again had to go find people for something other than water that was given to us as an appeasement and again to pay our outrageous bill. The room smelled of natural gas and mold. We were nothing short of a nuisance to the staff to be there. It was very embarrassing especially being that I took my out of town in laws there. I hated even asking the staff how to get food, I'm very go with the flow. The worst part is that for our party of 6 it ended up being $200 and I felt very taken advantage of. The should not be able to treat people like that and feel it's deserved to charge that amount. I wish we would have gone anywhere but there. They should be ashamed
