Couldn’t ask for a better dining experience. Food quality was top tier. For the quality you get the prices are modest. If this restaurant existed in a city you’d pay double. Nice little wine list has a lot of interesting options all geared toward accenting the chefs fare. Service was professional and friendly with a personal touch. The owner of the restaurant is always gracious and Chef Jeannie has rightfully been featured on the food network. Bravo Ella’s. Can’t wait for the next visit.
We celebrAted my birthday at Ella’s and we’re very pleased. It was our first visit and we will definitely be back.
Awesome food, drink, and service!
We sat at the bar and had 4 appetizers and 2 drinks each & our bill was $122 plus a tip. The mussels, which were a special, were amazing! The mushroom crostini was also amazing. The cocktails were average. The other apps - oysters rockefeller and the foie gras were average. There was only one bartender for the bar, as well as to serve the entire restaurant. She did a good job, though. No music playing as background ambiance. When asked about it, the bartender said it cuts in and out. ??? no, there was none. I would go again, as the people we chatted with at the bar were nice and fun. We will give it another try and order entrees next time. The veal chop special sounded good, but it was $52 and when I saw it delivered to someone close by, it looked only average in size and I can get an awesome chop at Sienna for much less.
One of my favorite places. The food is fabulous, drinks are top notch and the waiters are always so gracious. I am never disappointed when I come here.
This is our second trip to Ella's, and the second visit was every bit as good as the first. We'll be making more return trips! Everything was great!

Chelsea the bartender is awesome
The food was good, not exceptional. The service was very good, personable and attentive. The bill was a shock, in that they charge for every little thing, including a buck-fifty for parmesan cheese to sprinkle on a pasta dish... and a sharing charge for splitting a main dish. Given the location of the restaurant and the apparent pretentions of the chef-owner, these prices and extra charges are understandable but not necessarily justified. I'm not very convinced that I need to return.
Our waitress was wonderful and great for recommending dishes. The maple cheese cake and pistachio poached pear was INSANE!
What a fantastic restaurant. The staff was welcoming and explained the specials in great detail. We had the calamari sweet and spicy with an Asian touch. The grilled Cesar salad had just the right amount of dressing. My husband ordered the grilled swordfish special with a chorizo and white bean sauce. I hope it's on the menu when we return, it was delicious.
Always the most wonderful meal and the best service. We can’t say enough about what a great place this is!
Once again, Jeanie and James did an outstanding job. Everything we had -- the foie gras, the tuna tacos, the mussels, the brussels sprouts side dish, the lamb, the miso salmon -- were excellent. Neil, our waiter was attentive and friendly, but no overbearing.
Ella's lived up to everything we have read/heard about it. Food was excellent; waitress was great; service was perfectly timed. Not very busy at the time we were there. Definitely will return. Nice touch that the owners/chef individually greeted the diners.
Wonderful birthday dinner. First visit. High expectations, superbly met. Well received. Knowledgeable, friendly, attentive server. Great food, well prepared, nicely plated, delicious in taste and of excellent quality. We met the decorated chef and her husband, restaurant manager, both friendly and cordial. We plan to return soon.

The Duck looked amazing but a little too chewy for $38. Tartare could have used a bit more seasoning. Mussels were excellent, short rib was very good, mushroom crostini was delicious, and desserts were great as well as wine selection. Can't say enough about the service. As far as the Duck and tartare I am not a food expert just my humble opinion so don't let that deter you.
Been a while since we were here, 1st time for our friends and we were all very impressed with everything. Food was fantastic as was the service. We look forward to going back again in the near future.
Jeannie Roland is a superb chef and her husband James runs a very tight restaurant. They serve extraordinary food and do not waste money on tablecloths and flowers. We had the $25 pre fixe, with two excellent courses. I am a huge fan of Mama's Chicken and the Duck Au Deux. The Foie Gras appetizer is unbelievable.
Everything was perfect. The food was delicious! Salmon on black rice was amazing. Can’t wait to go back and eat there again !
This was one of the worst dining experiences. Our reservation was at 6:00. We were seated at 6:00 and did not even get a water until 6:20 (after 2 servers asked what kind of water we wanted). After a half hour, we finally got a drink and our order placed. The server left our table in the middle of telling us the specials to serve food to another table. The server also was very rude and sarcastic when we didn't order an appetizer and told us that our medium rare NY strip & medium duck would take a half hour and what would we do with our time if we didn't order an app. Probably the same thing we did in the half hour it took for us to order. The food was completely bland (worst steak I've ever had at $36). No salt & pepper on table so you couldn't season it yourself. Our server then argued over bringing us the check. Will never return.
Every visit to Ella's is a culinary adventure. This time it was Chef Jeanie's amazing maple-brined pork chops — a moist and juicy perfection topped with applesauce and a savory spiced butter. It was a "wow!" combination. And it was served with a side of the cheddar-bacon tots that are the most imaginative, exquisite tots you'll ever eat. A big thank you to our exceptional, attentive server, Neal, and head of the house and wine expert James for another spectacular evening.
It was my wife's birthday. We wanted a nice quiet dinner together. It is been a while since we've visited, but very glad we decided to go back!it was a wonderful time.

ALL ASPECTS OF THE OPERATION WERE HANDLED AT A LEVEL OF PERFECTION UNUSUAL FOR THE AREA THAT IT IS IN. THE DINING EXPERIENCE FAR SURPASSES EVERYONE ELSE IN ALL AREAS, OF MENU SELECTION, MEAL PREPERATION, WAIT STAFF, ATTENTIVNESS, AND ALL AROUND A CLASS ACT.

Really enjoyed this and will return. Headed for Perfect Caper in Punta Gorda. One observation: the bartender was terrific. However, she touched so many things that have germs as she went about her busy job. Then, with bare fingers, she squeezed fruit into drinks and dropped fruit in. That’s my delicious drink. This is the HEIGHT OF FLU SEASON. I have to say I really wished she had washed her hands before doing that. She is touching food that goes into mouths. Does this happen in kitchen, too?
Ella's is our go-to restaurant whenever we are in Westerly Rhode Island! Service and food are always excellent. Some of our favorites are the Miso Salmon Entree and Tuna Tacos for appetizer.
First time at Ella's. The food was excellent. They do not rush you. Definitely will return.
All around great food. Excellent specials. For dessert, try the donuts and the ice cream.
The food was top notch! We enjoyed the calamari appetizer, as well as lamb meatballs. As our entrees we had the Moroccan lamb and the Hawaiian Big eye tuna which was phenomenal. Definitely will return!
Ella's is a fantastic restaurant. Everything we've ever eaten has been delicious! The Brussels sprouts are AMAZING. Don't miss them! The "all chocolate" dessert might be a tad too rich for me, but it is super tasty nonetheless. You can really taste how fresh all the seafood is!
We've been to Ella's many times. It was better than ever with an eclectic selection of specials which were fabulous, delicious, interesting! We loved everything!

We decided to eat out for Christmas Eve and Ella's was someplace we had wanted to try. We were seated within moments of arriving. We elected to split the duck liver mouse crostini appetizer (a special). It was really phenomenal and and the portion was plenty for a couple to split. I rarely eat steaks in restaurants, but ordered the fillet mignon special and it was delicious...perfectly medium rare and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The mushrooms it was served over and the side of mac-and-cheese were excellent. Carol's Miso salmon was excellent as well. We both arrived fairly hungry but the half appetizer and entree didn't leave much room for desert....but that didn't disappoint us. The service was very good and we both left very happy and looking forward to returning.
