Ella's Fine Food and Drink Ratings and Reviews
Another great night at Ella’s. We brought guests from out of the area and were very jealous they don’t have an Ella’s where they live. All four meals were fabulous from appetizers to dessert and of course the perfect Ella’s service. Our go to spot for great dining.
We went for Thanksgiving dinner. Our waiter was great, but service from the kitchen was very slow. We waited an hour and a half for our dinners. The lamb portion was fatty and very small, and the vegetable portion of spinach and olives was barely a mouthful.
We always dine out for Thanksgiving and this was a particularly lovely dinner. Although full, the restaurant was quiet enough that we could have a nice conversation without raising our voices. Every dish was exquisitely prepared and served. We will definitely return.
This is our all time favorite dining spot on the east coast! The food is incredible and Chef Jeannie and Chef James are so accommodating if you want something different... they are the best! It’s like coming home for dinner... such a warm welcoming spot... never a bad meal ...EVER!
Stella’s never disappoints. Our dinners were tasty - the salads fresh and the desserts imaginative. Even though it was a busy Saturday night our wait for a table was short. The restaurant was full. There aren’t many that are reliably excellent on a Saturday night.
This was our second visit to Ella's. We just wished we had known about it sooner! The cuisine was creative without being overbearing. Each dish was a new and delightful pairing of fresh ingredients, new spices and artistic presentation. The wait staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Great place for elegant dining.
Fantastic experience and meal! So many great items on the regular menu and many additional specials to choose from as well! The ravioli with truffles was amazing! Chef herself came out to shave the Truffles!!! And the Duck was perfectly prepared - crispy and moist!
It was a wonderful evening! We would highly recommend Ella's! Can't wait to return!
Excellent meal. My wife had the Pig& Fig and the pork chop must have been close to a pound. I had the Crabby Scallops. Both entrees were a full meal.
The food at Ella's was every bit as good as at the Roland's Perfect Caper restaurant in our home town of Punta Gorda, FL
All was wonderful. Our bartender could have been a bit more attentive particularly in the beginning. I feel the first thing you do for a customer is get them a drink but when you have to wait for that, it gets anxious. Anyways, the food, as usual, was excellent!
As always Ella's didn't disappoint. The quality of the food, service and ambiance was top notch. We go to Ella's when we're in the mood for superb food and service and it consistently meets expectations. This time I had the Pig and Fig and my wife had the Crabby Scallops. Both are terrific choices for the main course. The mussels and calamari for appetizers are yummy as well. All of the desserts are great choices and you can't go wrong with any of them.
This was our first visit to Ella's. It had been recommended and I was intrigued by it's menu. Years ago it was an italian restaurant. They have remodeled it beautifully. I was impressed how busy it was on a Sunday night. Parking was very convenient.
Our waitress was efficient, sweet, and kind. The food was fabulous to look at and to taste.
My Crabby scallops with black rice were delicious. The lobster mac and cheese looked yummy. Our guests loved the root beer float and ginger bread ice cream sandwich.
I cannot wait to go back there!!
My wife and I ate here for her 50th birthday celebration, this past September 23. My dinner was excellent, the duck 2 ways, but hers was rather disappointing. Our appetisers were perfectly fine after mine was corrected. I had ordered the 1/2 green salad which was supposed to come with an oil and vinegar dressing, but it had a creamy dressing on it. They quickly replaced it. She had the special of tomatoes, mozzarella, and balsamic reduction and reported that it was delicious.
My duck was exquisite, especially the confit leg part, but Sarah had ordered a 1/2 portion of the Lobster Mac n Cheese, and it was not good. Normally, she would not order just mac n cheese at a restaurant of this caliber, but when she saw that it had lobster, she just had to have it. She had also been advised that it was rich and filling, but this was over the top. I don't eat dairy, so I cannot attest to it, but she showed me that it was sitting in an oily puddle of cheese fat, and the tiny pieces of lobster were very hard to find. She was worried that she wouldn't be able to eat the whole thing, only managing to eat half before giving up. It turns out that the kitchen had made a mistake and sent her a whole order, but only charged us for a half.
Serving staff were attentive, but infrequent. I think they should probably hire a few more people.
The cocktail and wine and drinks list was extensive, well-priced, and delicious.
We definitely want to go back, but my wife will order something else.
Ella's ambiance, food quality and selection, and service are fantastic. Prices are on the high side for the Westerly, RI area but worth it for a special occasion. The only downside to our recent evening was the amount of time it took for our drink order to be taken and filled. Otherwise, everything was perfect.
We truly enjoyed our experience at Ella's. Owners were visible & engaged. Nichole delivered fantastic service, especially for it only being her second week. The staff worked well as a team. The food was absolutely delicious!! We absolutely would recommend the restaurant & would certainly return if we lived anywhere close!
As an frequent diner here, we brought two family members for the first time here for a Birthday celebration. The two new members raved about the place and the food. We enjoyed the crafted cocktails, enjoyed good California wines, wonderful seasonal tomato salad, and great food. The honored guest had a sirloin special and was very pleased with the tenderness, seasoning, and accompanying side dish. Our two first time guest tried two different specials of the day and they raved about the flavor and quality of the food. We all enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and wonderful service.
