Enjoy Life......Eat Good Food!
Friday & Saturday: 5-10pm
Glorious food. Great staff. Warm & friendly. A splendid experience.
The imagination of the food creations are a taste sensation not easily found in the area. The wine list contains very good choices of all types of wine. The food is local whenever possible. Service is high end, impeccable, well paced, with properly attired professionals. A great place for a special date night or special occasion. They care about your dining experience and your complete satisfaction. You will not be disappointed.
Excellent staff at all levels. Food excellent in all courses. Prices high so it is a special treat place rather than a usual event.
The food was very good.
Wonderful waitress and the cuisine was incredible! Our guests loved it. Thank you.
Can’t wait to go back again soon.
Our second year for Thanksgiving dinner....we’ll be back next year!
We went for Thanksgiving dinner. My husband had the traditional turkey dinner and I ordered the miso salmon. We were both delighted with our choices. Service was prompt without rushing us at all.
We have eaten here many times but have not had a bad meal until now. My turkey entrée was fine but had dark meat on plate which I do not eat-all white meat wasn't available apparently which is dumb. My wife unfortunately ordered the flounder-it was badly overcooked, fishy tasting, lukewarm and inedible for human consumption. It also took forever to get our entrees-almost 45 minutes while the salad and soup came right out. Chef Jeanie was in Florida but Big Jim was here so I'm kinda surprised. We will definitely be back for supper in bar as every eatery has a bad day once in awhile. And this was definitely a bad day!
What a FABULOUS Thanksgiving meal we had! Everything about it was outstanding. We were visiting the area, but I would definitely go again any time we're in the area - or maybe even make a special trip! RAVE REVIEW!!! We wanted to try everything on the menu, so we'll have to return:)
Everything was delightful. We had a lovely meal and thoroughly enjoyed our server, Alexis. She was charming and gave excellent recommendations. Try the duck a deux façons!
What a great surprise. Definitely the best meal that we've had in Westerly. Excellent service -- we had a delightful and knowledgeable server. Food was outstanding. We're going back for Thanksgiving and can't wait!!
The meal was amazing! My all time favorite spot to eat anywhere I travel I always crave the yummy meals Ella serves! Delicious!
Excellent food and service !! 5 out of 5
Decor needs some serious review to match outstanding food !
Wonderful food, very reasonably priced wine list. Only draw back an overly loud table of 6 near by. Otherwise wonderful.
The food was delicious, an excellent selection for Restaurant Week. Our server Alexis was phenomenal, friendly, prompt, knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The chef visited our table and asked how our meal was and we left full and excited to return!
Classy cocktails in the intimate bar, delicious, beautifully prepared food and excellent service created the perfect backdrop to celebrate our mutual wedding anniversary w/ dear friends. Will return soon!9
Went for resturant week and the portion of food was very poer. My husband had braised shortribs and
he barely had five strands of beef. I had miso salmon and the portion of salmon was a two by two square on top of ramen noodles. We had pumpkin cheesecake and I have not had a cheescake that looked like
that. It was a ramkin of pumpkin pudding and a sprinkle of pecan crumble, three dots of carmel and a half of a pinkie finger of cream. I have been on cruise ships that offer fine dining and the portions of food have never been like that. Restaurant week is suppose to be a chance to find out about a resurant and their food.
I have been to several places for restaurant week and the portions of food are equivalent to their regular portions. Also no other resturant I have been to has forced me to buy a drink with each meal.
Loved it, will be back! Prices were a little high but worth it.
Ella’s is one of my favorite restaurants! Whenever we are in the area, it’s our go to spot! The food is always amazingly, consistently, delicious!!!
It was Westerly restaurant week; 3 course dinner for $25. Good was great as usual. Put dinner made excellent recommendations about the food and wine. YUM!
Went for restaurant week. I had been before but I brought a guest who never had been. The food is, excellent ...
Excellent food and service. Didn't know it was Restaurant week. This was a bonus.
Would go back if in Mystic area.
I consider this a local gem anyway, but went for Restaurant Week 3-course dinner for $25. Excellent selection and the food was just outstanding. Had the squash soup with maple cream, grilled pork chop with fabulous gratin and pumpkin cheesecake. Everything was delicious. Sat in the bar area, which I prefer for its coziness, and had just a great, relaxed meal.
Best restaurant in greater Westerly have never had a bad or mediocre meal , and alway terrific service !
Another perfect meal at Ella’s. Fried Clams Appetizer was amazing, and scallop entree with summer risotto was from another planet and if you miss your momma have some momma’s chicken for true comfort food! Service was perfect!
Awesome time and great food! Worth the 90 minute ride.
Celebrated my wife’s birthday. Nice table, Our waiter Mike was very pleasant, martini was very good and dinner specials were delicious. Definitely going back. Joe
This isn't the first time I've eaten at Ella's, and,as usual, it was a wonderful dining experience.
If possible, I think that the food has gotten even better!! Our waitress was attentive (not hovering)
and very helpful, offering hints on menu choices. The ower or manager (not sure) came to our table
to check on our satisfaction. I highly recommend Ella's and being a resident of Westerly am proud to
say that this gem of a restaurant is in our community.
Very nice. Excellent halibut entree.
This was our first time here and the food, wine and service exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be returning.
Have been hearing many GREAT things about this restaurant and was finally able to take advantage
on a Monday evening. When we arrived, we were greeted promptly and taken directly to a table...a booth.
Although it did not seem busy, the staff moved about the restaurant as though it was, without
seeming to rush diners. We ordered cocktails and they arrived quickly, classic drinks, very well made.
We ordered a special salad & mushroom crostini, both amazing! We stayed with the specials for dinner,
which was halibut & veal chop. The halibut was cooked perfectly as was the veal chop and it had
Great flavor, served with fettuccine with cognac sauce...unreal. For dessert, we continued with the special
Again, fried beignets with ice cream & chocolate sauce. The beignets were pillowy & delicious. We recommend!
can’t believe we haven’t been to Ella’s yet( they’ve been here almost 7 years) but we will be back again....very soon!
A lot of restaurants out there, although very few that operate like this place. Ella is a star!
The food is outstanding and the service (thank you, Mike) was exceptional! It is not a cheap dining experience, but we will get back for other special occasions!
Okay. Let's get this straight. I asked to sit in the bar.
I've been to Ella's before. I have always chosen to sit in the bar area, where seating is on a first-come first-served basis. HOWEVER, anytime I've been in the bar, there has been a table reserved. The bar is charming. Great ambiance. Lots of tables, too. On the other hand, the dining room provides an experience comparable to dining in your great aunt Irma's kitchen. So when I put the reservation in (to show friends how utterly charming Ella's can be- they had been there once and did not care for the atmosphere in the DINING ROOM) I requested a table in the bar area.
In the bar area, staff hand patrons a bar menu and a dining room menu. You can choose from either.
So we arrive at our appointed time (we wanted 7 p.m. but had to settle for 8 p.m.) I asked if the hostess or waitress (hard to tell) were able to reserve a table for us in the bar. "There's nothing in there right now," she said.
"But I asked for the bar around 11 a.m.," I explained. She shrugged. Apparently, you have to be a Westerly VIP to get a table reserved in the BAR.
She led us into the dining room (ugh). We sat. We ordered drinks. We looked at the menus: a specials menu and a regular menu. No bar menu. But on the regular menu there were tuna tacos. I wanted the chicken tacos, an item on the regular bar menu. ( Everyone in my party figured it was no biggee. Tacos. Tacos.
When the waiter came for our orders, he stopped cold. "Oh you can't have that. That's on the bar menu." (A few feet away. Same kitchen.)
"It's not okay?" I asked He said he would "ask." He looked terrified.
He came back with a NO. No other explanation.
At that point, I really didn't want anything. Wasn't hungry. Wasn't comfortable. Nonetheless, I got a half order of something I didn't want, so as not to create a problem and make my friends sorry that they had come or make the waiter any more unhappy.
Will not be returning.
Very creative menu, delicious, caringly served. We’ve dined there many times and will return.
This was our second time at Ella's and it did not disappoint. Food was outstanding and James and Michael couldn't have been more helpful with food and wine suggestions. When we go back to RI we will visit Ella's again.
We had a wonderful meal celebrating our anniversary. The menu was interesting with a wide variety. The service was attentive without being all over you and we never felt rushed. We would most certainly return for another special occasion.
We always have an excellent meal at Ellas!! Our favorite staple is the miso Salmon. My husband had a special which was a veal chop Dash superb. Our guests Tried the steak fetes and it was delicious. Salads and dessert or also exception
The food was wonderful from the sides we ordered as appetizers to the special dessert of blueberry tart with wild strawberry syrup and (of all things) sweet corn ice cream!
Ella’s is all about the finest food. The service is personal and the atmosphere is nice. The dinners are amazing and the fresh fish of the day is simply the best. If you want the best dinner created with the finest ingredients, Ella’s is the best. Everything is created and cooked to order by the two owners who are both award winning chef’s. We did lur research: Jeannie beat Bobby Flay and has place for James Baird award multiple times!
