Food was delicious. Wine was great. Service was not satisfactory.
Our halibut and salmon were delicious!! Our server was incredible and the elderberry gimlet is one of the best drinks ever. Such a great place.
We went to celebrate my husband’s birthday and it was our first time here and we were very pleased with the services that Scott provided us, his knowledge about dood and wine was a plus for us. The food was really amazing.
We've been to Ella many times with always excellent food, ambiance and service. I don't believe the food was up to par this time. My wife had the halibut which I tasted and thought was rather bland. I had the lobster and found it to be rather tasteless. We also had a side of asparagus that was excellent. The dessert - don't recall the name was excellent as well. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive.
My sister and I had a wonderful dinner at Ella this past weekend! The food was amazing, but it was the service that really brought our experience to a whole new level. Jeremy, our waiter, was a joy to be around. He helped cultivate a great experience through wine, dinner, and dessert recommendations that were layered with personal stories and favorites, while taking our needs into account. He elevated our night from a pleasant dinner to a memorable experience. Absolutely lovely evening!
Celebrated our anniversary with fine food and great service. Our server Amber was engaging and made the evening fun.
Definitely one of my favorite places to dine downtown, amazing food paired with amazing service. A great place to take a loved one for a special occasion.
We had the BEST dinner at Ella. Our waiter couldn't have been more informative, fun and attentive. He had fabulous recommendations and everything was delicious. We didn't feel rushed at all.
We had so much fun, food was delicious!! We tried bottles of wine that were 30+ years and they blew us away. Service was phenomenal can’t wait to have another date night.
Amazing food, great wine and the service is impeccable!!! A must before a show ♥‿♥
Nice place. Interesting items on the menu.
Overall a great dinner.
Would definitely come again.
Fantastic as always!!!
Delicious plates, delectable cocktails, and outstanding service.
In this time of Covid19 and the requirement of masks being worn (our waitress wore hers only covering her mouth) . Menus were leather which is difficult to clean between use. Responsible restaurants are currently using printed menus which are discarded after each use.
First time dining here and will definitely be back. The bone marrow was an outstanding recommendation along with the Tar Tar. Great atmosphere and attentive service.
We have now been to Ella 4 times in the past 4 months. The food is consistently interesting, well ore- pared, well-presented and delicious. The service is good but not on par with the food and pricing. The first two times it was quite good and the last two times pretty slow for no apparent reason. I would not expect this inconsistency in a restaurant like this. The communal tables are fun for after work/early evening drinks or dining. Very nice wine choices. I would recommend trying Ella as hopefully the service issue will be resolved.
Always excellent. Ella never fails to delight with wonderful food, excellent service, and great cocktials.
Amazing! Beautiful and delicious- Everything on the menu is fabulous and picture worthy.
Food was a miss for us. Ambience was perfect for a fun night out. Too bad the food was boring - won’t be back.
Absolutely fantastic. The food was wonderful and the service was on point. Will go back again!
Not sure about menu selection sometimes
Service was attentive & the food was delicious! A memorable experience!
Amazing food and Cocktails
It was our second time dinning at Ella and everything was great! The food, cocktails and service were all absolutely amazing. The mushroom soup and crab louis salad were definitely my favorite dishes but the NY steak and chicken entrees were great as well. Definitely will return and highly recommend!
Totally love Ella! The food, ambiance and drinks are fantastic!
We had a wonderful evening at Ella's. A full bar and great bartenders. The whiskey flights looked interesting, but I'm a gin fan and and there were many gins to choose from.
Our server, Taylor, was very knowledgeable about wine. In fact, Taylor is studying to be a sommelier. A big plus for a restaurant with a long wine list.
Food was outstanding. We shared two oysters dishes; fresh with a tasty red wine vinegar and wood fired with Dungeness crab, feta and capers followed by agnolotti with duck confit and seared scallops with little neck clams and bacon. All delicious.
I had the salmon with black eyed peas. it was terrific and perfectly cooked.
Excellent food and service. Highly recommend
Ella's is a very nice place, but overpriced for what it is. Three oysters for $21, REALLY??
The mushroom soup was Ok, but at half a ladle for $12 not extraordinary.
The scallops were quite good in prep, taste and presentation.
Great service and nice environment, but not a good value compared to several other fine dining establishments in downtown Sacramento and I've been to many of them.
Dinner was exceptional
Beautiful setting with great tasting food. Perfect for first dates, valentine's, or anniversaries.
Eaten at Ella many times, this was a disappointment. Valentines Prix Fixe menu. Requested a window, which there were plenty of, they put my wife and I at the most cramped two top in the restaurant, we both felt like we were in tight airline seats, no room at all, my chest was right against the table as was my wife's. Asked the waitress if we could move to one of the many other two tops with actual leg room by the windows and she pointed to the tall communal bar tables. No thanks. Food was great. We did ask for the steak to come medium well and waitress said she would have to ask the chef, we figured that's how we want it we should be able to get it like that. She came back and said he would do it. Steaks came out well done. Cramped table pretty much ruined the dinner, especially since it was over $300 (with only one added drink) for two. At that price I'd at least like to be comfortable, and truthfully I was miserable. I've had much better meals at Ella, but their price point is now fairly high, and for that I'd like, if not a memorable meal, at least one that isn't memorable for the wrong reasons. We don't get out as much as we used to (child, work, et al), and when we do we want to enjoy it, which we did not this outing.
everything was a hit except the duck confit with consumme. wine pairings were fantastic. Server was charming and attentive.
Great meal and wonderful service for valentine celebration. My only complaint would be the lack of intimacy for the price. Lose a few tables to make the event more exclusive
