Service was very good for a busy night, but the food was a bit disappointing. The last few times dining at Ella’s the food was so, so and for the price expected much better.
Fantastic restaurant for a date....great food, romantic, excellent service. Walking distance from theater.
The Oysters were bad. I work up in the middle of the night so sick.
Other than that the fried chicken is amazing.
There 3 leches dessert was divine.
The meat was dry, the drinks were barely there.
Food presentation and quality was terrific. Service is always stellar. Clients are always impressed.
Everything was wonderful for our Mother’s Day dinner. Everything on the menu was delicious.
Eye-popping expensive for Sacramento! Seriously, ridiculous, how do people afford this?? And the $18 glass of wine was about 1/8th full. Just stupid to be skimping on portions when charging thru the nose! This is NOT NYC or San Fran.
Thanks for such a wonderful evening! We appreciated the attention for our guests celebrating birthdays, the sensational food and service. See you again soon!
Thank you to the entire staff at Ella's for making our 6th Anniversary very special
Service was bad. After 20 minutes at our table the server did not appear so we left. Ghost service makes for hangry guests.
It was great! Delicious food and great service! Our fifth anniversary dinner will be remembered for the great food and drink we had that evening!
I took my mom and her husband to dinner for an early Mother's Day celebration. I had to wait at the table for a bit for them to arrive. The service staff provided great care - the option of sparkling or still water, asking if I wanted to order a drink. When my parents arrived, our server welcomed them, reviewed the menu with her recommendations and good level of detail. She was friendly, and checked in with us periodically - a good level - not too much, but enough to ensure a good experience. The food was amazing - delicious and beautiful. Great selection of drinks (they both had good red wines). We shared two desserts, which were very creative, fun and yummy. My only issue is that we were seated right at the front, by the front door. Someone has to have that table - it's just not my favorite place. And, it is pretty pricey. Amazing food - and, it may be reserved for special occasions if budget it an issue.
The finest prime rib andd french dip au ju to be found! Jump on it while its on the menu!
Great food, outstanding service. Taylor our waiter was very good. Can’t wait to get back.
Always a great meal at Ella's! Delicious all around!
Great early dinner. Staff was attentive, timely, and smiling. Amber aka Frankie was a pleasure.
Fab food. Scallops are to die for. Artichoke was very savory. Tres letches dessert was only just ok but the butter walnut ice cream was the bomb.
Best place for a date in Sacramento by far. Took my wife there for her birthday and she was elated by the entire experience.
Really impressed with Ella Dinning Room. The design is well-lit, contemporary, and open with a beautiful bar area. The food was exceptional and a great, comfortable place for a special evening.
Awesome food and great service. Love the wine list!
One of our favorite places to eat!
We had a wonderful dining experience at Ella’s! Valet parking was easy and only $5! We had a party of 6 and we were seated quickly when we arrived (with a reservation). Our waiter was fantastic! He was attentive but not constantly interrupting our conversation. Oysters were delicious, salads fresh and cheese board had a nice selection of 3 different cheeses. Entrees were wonderful! We had the fried chicken (AMAZING!!), scallops, lamb shank and salmon dinners. Everyone loved the food. We tried 3 different desserts which were all very good! I can’t wait for our next dinner at Ella’s.
My husband’s birthday. A really great lunch experience! Jill was a warm, skilled and knowledgeable server. The shishito peppers with chili lime nuts was delicious. My husband loved the lamb sandwich. The ambiance was lovely. At least three if the wait staff wished my husband happy birthday. Jill brought out a complimentary dish of ice cream with a candle. All in all, a perfect birthday lunch!
I do believe ELLA is one of the three best restaurants in Sacramento. The food is innovative, beautifully presented and delicious; the service is impeccable: responsive without being intrusive; because I don't drink alcohol, I can't comment on the wine list but my dinner (beginning with marrow bones and garlic toast) was spectacular! The only disappointment was the dessert: their "signature" carrot cake donuts - which were dry and waaay too sweet. This, however, did not overshadow the roasted salmon and fingerling potatoes I had for dinner. The salmon was cooked to medium rare as I requested and the vegetables were roasted perfectly with a bit of "bite" to them. I will go here as often as possible. Thank you to all at ELLA.
Just relocated from the SF Bay Area. We are foodies. We were nervous about the transition from a density of great restaurants. Well I don’t know how we could have asked for a more stellar experience. Ella will surely be a hard act to follow. Checked off every box of food and service. Nick provided professional guidance. Thank You to the bartender that took my request for a custom crafted bourbon based cocktail ... and knocked it out of the park. The food? Wow. Just wow.
The service was very good, but we dined early on a week night. The oyster appetizer was very good and reasonable. The food was good but was way overpriced (a 2"x 3" piece of salmon for $32 with very little accompaniment, rack of lamb was 2 ribs for $55, again very little accompaniment). We are not gluttons, and don't necessarily object to a spartan meal, but we
expect a price commensurate with the portion. We will not return.
Ella’s is my favorite Sacramento restaurant. They have locally sourced, seasonal menus and everything is delicious. The chef and kitchen clearly take pride in their preparation. Ella’s has a diverse wine selection with quality wines. The staff are phenomenal, engaging and attentive. Whether you’re a party of one or a party of many, the staff strive to anticipate and meet every need. The environment is great for socializing and their happy hour attracts people from near and far, from Capitol building to Fresno, from California to Spain.
Very good waitstaff. Manager was inept at customer service.
Over priced and embarrassingly short pour on wine.
In Sacramento often. Will not return or recommend.
Food and service were A+
Food is very good. Our waiter was also the bartender so our table service was very slow.
The food was amazing
The food was incredible and so was the service. We enjoyed ourselves very much.
Always a good choice for a lovely dinner. Seasonal, fresh seafood and meat. Attentive, knowledgeable service and good wine options
It was very pleasant, not noisy, good service and great food.
My entree, Ahi Tuna Salad, was delicious. My friend complained that her salad, Salmon Chef Salad, didn't have enough greens or extras on it.
Enjoyed the evening very much.
Herb marinated lamb sandwich was excellent; tasty, crisp fresh side salad that came with it was pleasant surprise! Service was superb!
We've always had a great time at Ella's and this time did not disappoint. Always a great meal with yummy ingredients for a special birthday.
Good food, cocktails, and service! Will definitely try again.
Our second visit toe Ella's in the past year. Last nights food and service was EXCELLENT! Scallops were delicious...this restaurant is a do over!!!
