Enjoy the taste of traditional American southern cuisine at Elizabeth's Neighborhood Table. Its white picket fence, along with its hardwood floors and wooden furniture as its inner decor, create an atmosphere that recreates a feeling of being in an actual old southern home as guests enjoy dishes that have been a part of American culture for generations.
Elizabeth's Neighborhood Table utilizes nothing but local and organic foods. Elizabeth's Neighborhood Table menu features appetizers, such as jumbo lump crab cakes with apple fennel slaw and homemade herb gribiche, as well as macaroni and cheese. Some of its main entrées range between crispy fried chicken, as well as pan-seared Irish organic salmon.
Elizabeth's is a rarity: a roomy, attractive restaurant with solid food and service. And reasonable.
Have had a nice brunch of omellettes, pancakes, biscuits here before. Noted the cold coffee then also. Decided to meet a friend here today and since it was after 1pm, we both had the veggie hash w/ 2 eggs. What a terrible dish! It was a huge mound of cold kale (including a substantial amount of old, wilted, yellowed and pock-marked kale), warm red cabbage (tasted fine), and what looked like might be home fries big pieces of cold potato and onion mixed in with the kale and cabbage. The eggs were cooked well and served on top. No sauce - nothing tying this weird combo together and all for $14. Coffee was lukewarm --both servings again this time. All the servers were nice and tried very hard, coming back to see if we needed anything. Ambiance is pleasant. Prices for things seem too high. $15 for 1 Belgian waffle and then bacon on the side is additional $6.
Won't be back--such a shame.
Everything my friend and I ordered was delicious. I had a housemade Veggie Burger that was the best I've ever eaten: thick, juicy and flavorful. My friend had a Cobb Salad, which she described as "better than the usual version." Again, all ingredients were fresh and colorful. I would definitely return to sample other items on the menu.
I wish I'd known about Elizabeth's a long time ago! It is fantastic! The charming porch instead of the usual Columbus Avenue Sidewalk cafe makes you feel immediately welcome, like you've stepped into a little country inn. There's even a porch swing, where I waited happily for my lunch date, who was running a little late. The service was impeccable - friendly like the place but not hovering. Indoor ambience charming and cozy - we chose a comfy banquet. And the food! So delicious we found ourselves passing our plates back and forth! Rare to find a place with both grassfed beef and superb vegetarian choices. So glad we saved room for dessert - peach bread pudding was heavenly. Love.
My 2 friends and I had a wonderful experience. The food was fantastic and healthy. Service was nice and accommodating. We will be back.
It was a perfect brunch experience. Wonderful menu items to choose from, even for vegetarian/vegan. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Omelettes were perfect. Will be back.
It was my wife's birthday and I could not be happier with the choice I made. Elizabeth's is a gem in the city. The food is amazing and Thomas is the wizard of all chefs. The drinks were marvelous. The bartender (I wish I could remember his name) is a mad scientist of mixology. You have to try the Brooklyn Gin mixed with Uncouth Vermouth. It'll make your night. Liz you are amazing and genuine, and you have a wonderful staff working with you. It is such a great atmosphere at Elizabeth's. My family and I could not have been more pleased. We will definitely dine, laugh and drink at Elizabeth's again. We highly recommend that you do to!
We really enjoyed our evening there. We recommend this restaurant to all.
My girlfriend suggested that we go to this neighborhood spot. It looked nice and quaint so I agreed to give a try. She ordered the lambchop special and I ordered the ribs. Both were not good. We left most of our food on the plate. The ribs tasted as if they were old and the flavoring was off and her lambchop had a sweet minty taste rather than the typical salt you expect on a lambchop. Needless to say we did not stay for dessert.
What a beautiful Saturday morning. Had a reservation for 11.got there early and sat outside with no problem. Service was good, food excellent, noise level good .. Enjoyed thoroughly.
Who wouldn't like Elizabeth's principles of locally-sourced American food with a purpose? Sadly, that purpose is not fantastic food. Dishes are adequate but nothing more. That said, the restaurant is very pleasant, and the staff efficient and nice.
Pancakes were a little dry, but enjoyed everything else. Great strawberry, orange juice kale smoothie
It feels like an inn in Virginia, which is a nice break from bustling Amsterdam avenue.
They truly made us feel like home...kind, pleasant, patient...with good food at a lovely atmosphere...
During a girls' weekend in NYC we booked Elizabeth's for brunch on Saturday morning and it was amazing! Away from the hustle and bustle of the city you really feel like you are somewhere else entirely. The chef was very accommodating as we had some diners with allergies and particular diets. Our server was lovely and the food and drinks were fabulous!
Will go again. Love that music was not loud nor were other diners do I got to catch-up with out of town friend. . Happy went got the ribs & fried chicken. Service was good too all good feedback and I'd go back there too. Love the country ambiance in the middle of NYC very clever. Portions were big do next time I'll make sure to save room for desert list.
The service - from getting our order correct, bringing ALL of our order to throwing out a portion one diner wanted to take home was rotton.
Very good food. Outdor seating not ideal with no fans and somewaht slow service.
It was a family brunch. Food was great but it took like an hour to arrive. Maybe we were just hungry that was why food was great. We love the feel of the restaurant, so homey and seems like you are not in the city.
Whether I come early or leave late, with a large group or by myself, I have been greeted warmly and treated well - I love every single staff person's hospitable grace and accommodation. Then add great food, comfortable décor and a friendly ambience? One in a million, a true gem!
What more can I say? Everything we had was spectacular. We began with the loaded french fries. As a fan of poutine this satisfied my poutine craving. The meatloaf and fried chicken entrees were huge! I loved eating it the next day!
The food is delicious and fresh. The restaurant looks like a country inn in the middle of Manhattan and the food has that farm-fresh quality. Service is excellent. Its well-located - near Symphony Space, Central Park and Riverside park.
I love this neighborhood restaurant , good quality foods , attentive staff , decent priced and although located on the opposite side of my downtown neighborhood I never mind making my way up to this cute place to meet up with my friends.....specially if one prefers the less crowded north side of central park, it's an easy walk over there to enjoy a good meal...I hope it stays there for ever!!!
We're never disappointed when we eat at Elizabeth's. Yes, it's convenient (around the corner) but our meals are always fresh... delicious... and healthy. What more can you ask for? Oh, yeah. Service comes with a smile.
It was adorable. Got there and it was empty. I would suggest you get there early before the dinner rush. The food was all organic which I loved. Pricey but not to pricey. I enjoyed and so did my friend. I would go back.
Things started out well (good draft beer, reasonably nice decor) but went downhill as we waited 45 minutes for our (overcooked) food to arrive. Our waitress had an air of indifference and sort of disappeared. Not good, especially with a restless 12 year old at the table.
Even a simple burger and cobb salad were delicious. Also, they're menu is very consistent. The service is pleasant though it was a bit slow this time. They're located not far from Central Park.
Elizabeth's is quickly becoming my go-to place after Popover's closed. The food is good and brunch is nice. It feels spacious enough and very kid-friendly, from the reasonable kids' menu to the staff's pleasant attitude. Once you go through the white picket fence you feel as though you're going into a country inn.
The restaurant is delightful, and the staff friendly, but the food is far too bland for the price. Nothing was bad, per say, but I've already forgotten what the pork chop tasted like. That won't do for a nearly $100 dinner for two.
Just not at all what we thought. Food was cold upon arrival. Big portions, but poorly prepared and expensive- $50 for breakfast- don;t mind if it is good, but this was so mediocre.
My husband and I stopped in for a weekday lunch. It was great. I had the Cobb Salad-the server told me it's not tomato season so she suggested alternatives-but I was welcome to the tomatoes if I wished. I chose apples and it was fantastic. My husband had the BLT with cheddar and applewood smoked bacon-delicious.
The service was great and the ambience was nice, but unfortunately, the food was not so good. The turkey meatloaf was overlooked and bland. The pork chop was also overlooked and needed seasoning. Mashed potatoes were good. Appetizer of dips was also good, but they skimped on the veggies.
We went there Wednesday night with my wife. She ordered the turkey burger (it was OK but a little too much dry), and I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes (which was OK). Portion sizes are nice.
Probably for brunch is better, but I wouldn't recommend it for dinner.
Come to Vermont styled farm house with amazing brunch and in the summer barbaque.
Innovative brunch menu with great pancakes and omelets ...
Needed a place on the upper west side to get together with some friends for a birthday brunch....I went to Open Table and scanned through the list of restaurants and liked what I saw for menu choices at Elizabeth's (also --- I kinda really liked the name too)...so I booked a ressie.....Well.... I'm so glad I did!!! What a great place! The food was yummy and I loved the fact that they had a round table to seat 5 of us. I will definitely go back in the spring to sit in the "fenced in" outdoor seating area!
Adorable spot, delicious food -LOVED my turkey burger & gluten free bun! Service was totally fine, just not above average.
We all found our meals delicious. The service was good (other than the busboy asking if I wanted to take my food home while everyone was still eating. This is a pet peeve of mine - all plates should remain on the table until all parties are finished with their meals!).
Keep it simple here. Burgers were great but my meatloaf was inedible. And no one noticed.
Was disappointed this time. Was New Year's Eve. The waitress never served us bread. It as not crowded -- so, no excuse. Ordered onion rings that were pretty bad and not very crispy (as the menu suggests) at all. The turkey burger was not as good as I have had in the past. Overall, not happy. Hope it was a fluke.
