Very delicious and authentic food. The chef there is so creative! I ate “lobster” and “shrimp” dishes that were so much like the real thing.
I live in Austin Texas but every time I come to visit my son in DC we always go to Elizabeth's Gone Raw. There is no place like it in the world, where you can get such aesthetic flavorful vegan food in such a wonderful comfortable elegant environment. Elizabeth and her people are very warm and gracious. I highly recommend it to anyone and everyone. I am sure people who are not Vegan love it too, the tastes are exquisite!
It was the perfect experience to the perfect meal.
This is a special and unique place. My wife who is a vegetarian loved it, I liked it. Some of the food I think is a bit too obscure, at least for me. However, it is creative, the setting is cozy, the staff was terrific and the fact that a high end vegan place exists is impressive and deserves support.
We had a wonderful time for our anniversary dinner! Delicious vegan food and fantastic formal service. We couldn't have asked for anything better!
It was an amazing experience, that any plant-based dieter must try!
Everything was great except the food. It was lackluster. The flavors were very disjointed for 7 courses; they didn't flow or compliment each other. To have a "tasting menu" priced over $100 per person, we were not satisfied. Nice atmosphere, however better suited for small group of 2 or less, because conversation is difficult to maintain due to someone consistently interrupting with either food or the description of it. This is a good place if you want to impress someone with table service, but not necessarily the food.
I have been wanting to come here for years, and my expectations were very high. Finally made it happen for a 5-year wedding anniversary. This exceptional experience blew my super high expectations out of the water! The food was so intelligently delicious that I genuinely wanted to cry with joy. It was rich in flavor but did not feel heavy at all. The wine pairing was the best of my life, same for my husband who grew up eating in fine dining restaurants and drinking expensive wine. Absolute first-class service and experience from start to finish. Expensive yes, but it's vegan and organic and world class, so what else would you expect?!
This restaurant is fantastic. The organic, vegan menu is wonderful. The food is more delicious than any other food I’ve ever eaten at a restaurant, and I’ve been to multiple Michelin-starred venues. The service is impeccable, and the servers are highly attentive and knowledgeable. I’ve been here on three separate occasions, and each visit only increased my admiration. Rarely has a restaurant been so enjoyable that I came back again. Thank you, Elizabeth’s Gone Raw, for the unparalleled dining experience.
This was my third time dining at Elizabeth’s. It was another great dining experience overall. As usual, we enjoyed the attentive and professional service, fantastic cocktails, addictive kale chips, and beautifully prepared and presented food. The only dish that wasn’t great was the jackfruit ravioli. Nobody in our party liked it. Everything else was delicious. But the thing that I really didn’t appreciate was the new 15% “service charge” added to my bill - which is not a tip. It was explained as a fee that allows the restaurant to pay the servers a fair wage, but if you wish to tip the servers, you have to add an additional gratuity. So - basically you have to pay at least 30% on top of the already pricey food bill just to give a modest tip. I’m not sure when or why they started doing this, but it will make me think twice before going there again.
You must try Elizabeth’s Gone Raw! It’s a wonderful experience- amazing food, and wines, beautiful atmosphere, and exceptional service and presentation. Do try it!
Amazing Hospitality and tremendous food!
The food was delicious. Our waiter was knowledgeable, polite, delightful. Everything was beautiful to look at from food to decor. It was an enjoyable and unique experience for my husband and I. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food was creative and beautiful. There were a couple things I didn’t find particularly flavorful, but there was so much that was excellent. Had the wine pairing (well paired). Next time I’d probably have a glass or two instead since the pours left me wanting more. One thing I would change is the 20% service fee. If you want to charge more, increase the price of the meal. After such a nice evening, it was a very odd and awkward conversation to have with the server about a 20% fee (typical tip percentage) that isn’t a tip, but is called a service charge and goes to the people serving. Isn’t that a tip? Am I supposed to tip 20% more on top of the bill that includes a 20% service fee? Don’t make it awkward and ambiguous for the customer who’s having a special evening.
Loved the unique take on vegan cocktails, apps, mains, sides, dessert. Very creative and expertly done. A very special dining experience. Highly recommend for a unique take on vegan fare. Perfect for a special occasion. Look forward to dining here again. Thanks for a fantastic evening!
Food was out of this world good, but what is the 20% service fee that isn't the gratuity?
My wife and I come to Elizabeth's for our anniversary. Each time it delivers. The food is always innovative and tasty. Service is very attentive and the restaurant has a great vibe.
With my boyfriend being vegetarian and me being vegan, I was excited to try Elizabeth's Gone Raw. The food was terrific, the ambiance was lovely , and overall I had a wonderful and unique experience. We both enjoyed our evening there.
We did the tasting menu with wine pairing. It was great, and the reservation was at 7p, ended up finishing around 10 (in case you needed to know).
The food and service were beyond my greatest expectations. Everything was perfect. I highly recommend the tasting menu for a culinary experience you will never forget
Had an amazing experience
Always a pleasure eating here. They make vegan food exciting and interesting every time.
Very good and interesting yet pricey. Special occasions
From the stunning cocktails at the quaint bar as you enter Elizabeth's Gone Raw to the 7th course of the price fixed meal, everything was amazing. Although the tastes were familiar the complexity of flavors in each bite was like none other. One of my most favorite meals in Washington DC to date. Well done Elizabeth!
Lovely, intimate fine dining experience. Food was exceptional; wine pairing is highly recommended and enhances the experience. Service was too rushed between courses - ask them to slow it down, if you prefer. Very expensive, but a super fun, enjoyable experience.
Overall this was a great dining experience. If someone is skeptical about vegan food, it's the place that shows you what vegan can be. Great ambiance and feels like the place you go for a special date/occasion.
The only downside to our experience is I thought our server was just okay. She wasn't particularly friendly - e.g., didn't ask us if it was our first time to explain what to expect or ask how we were enjoying our food. She was adequate. That wouldn't stop me from going again though. Did feel a bit rushed at the end. My date didn't notice but it felt that way to me. I get it - other people who want to eat - but for the price and pace, I don't think guests should feel that way. But, again, overall this was a great dining experience and would recommend checking it out.
Dining at Elizabeth’s Gone Raw is an amazing experience. The most important thing that can be said is that while the menu is vegan, the food is terrific and should be appreciated and enjoyed by all interested in top level fine dining.
We dined in a group of 5, none of whom is vegan, and we were all incredibly impressed, by the creativity of the tasting menu, the quality of the preparation of each dish, and the overall presentation. We also enjoyed the thoughtful and diverse wine parings, also highly recommended.
Finally, the restaurant is a beautiful setting, and the service is polished and professional, without being stiff or pretentious. This is a must-experience restaurant.
The food here is interesting and artfully crafted-particularly nice for vegans and those on raw food diets! The service is always super polite though not the fastest. It is on the pricey side-likely a splurge for most people, especially with cocktails or the wine pairing. And the 20% service charge that isn’t gratuity is a little confusing (like, why not just charge more for the food?). But, it’s a really interesting and nice place, and the food and flavor combinations are inspired and delicious. Worth visiting for sure.
We love Elizabeth, the whole staff and the food. It’s always a special experience and they make each guest feel right at home. The food is exquisite and the wine pairing is perfection. Of course we’ll be back!!!
A lovely evening of delicious food, excellent service at every level and a warm and beautiful dining room. We chose Elizabeth's for a special occasion, and it felt special from start to finish.
This place is SPLENDID! The environment is very special and also very comfortable. The food and drinks are creative and delicious and stunningly presented, as well as being very healthy. It is always a sensory joy and adventure when I have dinner at Elizabeth's Gone Raw!
Amazing food - in fact one of my most favorite meals ever. We will return many times!
Fun tasting menu delivered by knowledgeable servers. Will definitely be back.
We’ve been eating mostly raw vegan for the past few months in an effort to improve our health. It can be very frustrating going out and if I’m being honest this was the first restaurant I could to and actually stick to the diet. Food was delicious and so creative. They also change the menu seasonally so I think we will be coming back periodically to try their new offerings.
Took my girlfriend her for her 25th bday. Could not have asked for a better experience.
The food was astounding and the service stellar. I had some serious nut allergies and Elizabeth herself called me to find out more and work out how to make sure I could enjoy my time there. She worked with the chef to make a special allergy free menu just for me. It was delicious and I also didn’t feel called out about my meal being different from others. It was so nice!
Outstanding experience from the ambience to the service to the food!
It was an amazing experience and I recommend the restaurant to anyone who is raw vegan.
Amazing food and wonderful staff.
The food was fabulous and the service sublime! We were even lucky enough o meet Elizabeth herself and that was the cherry on the cake! She is absolutely delightful! We will be back again and again everytime the menu changes!
