Inspired by Chef Elizabeth Terry, Elizabeth on 37th continues to serve a sumptuous combination of traditional and innovative dishes, directed by Chef Kelly Yambor. The wine program and service staff are led by owners Greg and Gary Butch. Elizabeth on 37th is located in the Victorian District. Awesome sums it up best. The environment, menu, and wine list were great. The food was outstanding. However what sets it apart from other restaurants is their attitude and service. In particular their accommodating special dietary constraints was flawless and didn’t require long explanation or making one feel guilty. Instead our waiter simply replied “done!” It was and done imaginatively and superbly. A wonderful experience.
Elizabeth's was excellent. Google maps could not find it for us so we had to find it the old fashioned way. I had the grouper in peanut sauce and it was excellent. My husband had a seafood cippino type dish that was great. The server was very proper and efficient.
We stop in Savannah twice a year. Although, there are many great restaurants, Elizabeth’s remains our favorite. The food is always delicious and innovative. Elizabeth’s is in a mansion with many beautiful rooms. Service is always great without being intrusive.
Just a vacation special treat meal at one of Savannah’s better restaurants. Service excellent and friendly, host extremely friendly and courteous and welcomed discussion about local events and locations. Food probably very innovative for Savannah, but as we live in NYC, there would be lots of capable competition up here. All-in-all though a pleasant evening with great service.
It's difficult to say, the appetizers and main dishes were wonderful, the 'palate cleanser' salad was drowning in oil and the almond pecan tart was overly sweet and unexceptional. The waitstaff was also wonderful, from our older gentleman waiter who suggested that he could split up and serve our two appetizers so we could share the eggplant soup (amazing) and scallops (delicious, but only 2 per order for an app that cost $16+?!), to our waitress who was absolutely delightful, serving us exceptional Grouper Celeste and the salmon dish. The difficult part is that we booked well in advance for our anniversary dinner on our vacation to Savannah, and when we arrived we were greeted by the owners/managers?, and lead to a tiny table crushed against a wall, almost on top of a dinner party on the other side, in a side room. When we asked if there was a nicer table, we were lead (in a kind of disgruntled way) to the rear of a room right by the door to the kitchen where the servers enter and exit. Without sitting down, we asked again if there was a nicer table and were shown the enclosed porch, and told those were our only options. The restaurant was not full, and, of course every restaurant does things its own way, but it seems that we could have been accommodated at a nicer table, as they knew we were visiting the city and there for a special occasion (we told them). Where we sat was quiet and wound up being fine, but it wasn't the ambiance or experience that the restaurant advertises. We had hoped to spend our anniversary in the attractive main part of the restaurant, feeling like we were dining in a mansion, surrounded by fireplaces, pictures, etc. So, for two of the courses and waitstaff - excellent; greeters (who never came to ask if we were happy and comfortable) and ambiance - disappointing.
The best food I've ever had in my life. Our experience was amazing. From beginning to end, we were taken away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. I forgot my cellphone existed. We were all wrapped in the ambiance of Elizabeth's. It was a beautiful night. The food was superb. I savored every single morsel. Every new dish was a extraordinary gift for my taste buds!
Found Elizabeth’s through a google search. Was hoping to try the Chef’s tasting, however it was a full house on a Saturday night, so we opted for the dinner specials. Seed encrusted Sea Bass and Flounder over a quail base. Both were delicious and service was great. Would definitely come back and recommend to friends.
It is hard to decide which was better - the food or the service. From the moment we walked in the door, the staff were friendly, welcoming and professional. They worked as a team for our table service and it was seamless. The drinks and wine list were great but the food was incredible. Steaks were cooked perfectly with rich and delicious accompaniments. Everything was perfect!
