Southern hospitality, fine coastal cuisine, and well-chosen wines in a comfortable, elegant 1900 mansion have made Elizabeth on 37th a favorite destination in Savannah since 1981. Inspired by Chef Elizabeth Terry, Elizabeth on 37th continues to serve a sumptuous combination of traditional and innovative dishes, directed by Chef Kelly Yambor. The wine program and service staff are led by owners Greg and Gary Butch. Elizabeth on 37th is located in the Victorian District. The mansion, built for a cotton broker, is decorated with historic Savannah colors and patterns, fresh flowers, original paintings and ceramics, and is entered through fragrant herb gardens. *We are able to seat parties larger than 8, please contact the restaurant for availability via phone or email. Meal of the year! Southern hospitality at its finest. Every dish we had was fantastic. The wait staff was charming and really spoiled us with amuse bouche and gourmet chocolates. I wish I could’ve eaten more. Highly recommended pasta entree…a vegetarian dream.

Except we noted that our waiter sort of disappeared because he got very busy with long conversations with 2 other tables and seemed to forget about us which we thought was inappropriate
However another server stepped in so we were served

We went back to Elizabeths after 15 years and it was just as fantastic and magical as always. Greg and Gary do such an amazing job of taking care of their guests. It really is a special experience not to be missed.
Chef Kelly and Jeremy are so talented and thoughtful We had special dietary restrictions and they catered to our vegan diet. Food was outstanding and the service is on point.
Excellent dinner can't recommend visiting Elizabeth's enough.

We did the Chef’s tasting menu with wine pairings, and it was amazing! Wish I had pictures to share but was too busy enjoying the dinner to take any!

We had some of the best food of our entire visit to Savannah at this restaurant. The crab soup was especially good, and we enjoyed our entrees very much as well as desert. A special place to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

One of the most incredible experiences I have had. Gary, owner and who waited on us, was terrific and paired a perfect French red with our dinner. The clams with truffle oil as appetizer were to die for. Both of the fish specials were hands down the best complete fish dishes I have been served ( and this was coming off a five day trip eating fresh fish in FL every day). Will be back again soon.

We arrived early and we were promptly seated by the lovely hostess. Beautiful restaurant. Attentive staff. Comfortable seating. The chef was able to accommodate a pepper allergy without hesitation. Every course was absolutely incredible. Fresh baked biscuits with homemade orange marmelade, delicious small bites of Tart green apple with sliced fennel, mussel with cheese topping and mini tart, were just the beginning. A shared appetizer of steamed clams in an amazing broth with cornbread bites, tomatoe & celery were enjoyed without pepper. Separate entrees followed. One , a lovely fish entree seasoned to perfection without pepper , grilled caulifauer and fresh apinach with a delicate creamy curry as a delightful accompaniment .Incredible flavors. Each complimenting the last. The second entree’ was red rice and shrimp . Very much a true southern jambalaya with sausage, clams in the shell, shrimp and chunks of white fish. The sauce was delicious and very spicy as jambalaya should be. We chose to share the pecan and toasted almond pie with fresh made vanilla ice cream and drizzled with a bourbon caramel glaze. Each bite was delicious and thoughts still dance in our heads. We can’t say enough wonderful things about this lovely restaurant . Our waiter, Greg and assistant, Mikey were a great team and never missed a beat. It will be an experience you won’t forget. We highly recommend Elizabeth’s on 37th.

What a great evening to end our visit in Savannah! At first we were hesitant to drive for fear of a lack of parking. I called prior to leaving our hotel and was assured that parking in the lot across the street is not a problem. It was not, plenty of spots.

The building is impressive as was the interior. We were seated immediately and shortly after being seated, greeted by a polite, soft spoken unassuming man. He told us about the menu and answered questions about various wines. I asked what dishes the restaurant was known for and he said we are known for many things. This included 4 James Beard awards, but the best, he said I could see hanging on the wall behind the host table. It was an invitation to the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize ceremony. It turns out that this gentleman was Gary Butch one of the co owners (with his brother) of this restaurant. He was also a Nobel Peace Prize runner up and a friend of his holiness the Dalai Lama. Mr. Butch bought a picture book over to us and proceeded to tell us about his relationship with the monks and the sand mandalas the monks have created in the restaurant.

This is an evening we will not forget. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant and hopefully you will have an opportunity to talk with Mr. Butch.

About the food: I started with the seafood chowder soup and had the red snapper special entree, my wife had the mushroom appetizer followed by the grouper entree. We both throughly enjoyed everything!

Nice place, but so busy that night it felt like a bus station. Maybe we were in the wrong room, but people running back and forth, the wood floors vibrating, etc, took away from the experience. However, the food and service were quite good.

One of best meals I’ve had in my entire life! The pasta was amazing as was the service and overall experience. Our waiter was actually one of the owners, Gary. Amazing gentleman who did an outstanding job being unassuming and charming. Highly recommend!!

Service was great! All of the little complimentary extras you get with the meal like a mussels, pimento cheese, chef salad, Biscuits were a great touch. The check in desk was great they even allowed us to order a drink while we waited. Overall the food, service and ambiance was amazing. I will definitely be back.

What a fabulous experience. The service was impeccable, the food scrumptious and the restaurant amazing! One thing that should be mentioned when booking is that parking is available across the street from the restaurant. Being from out of town we kept turning and turning looking for parking until I got off and asked the hostess about parking. That’s when she informed me that parking was available right in front. Also noted a Police car parked in the median strip blinking it’s blue light. It’s safe, folks! Would recommend this restaurant any day! Would like to mention the older gentleman who served us. He was so gracious and a perfect example of Southern hospitality.

One of the best dinners & overall experience of my entire life! Extremely welcoming, friendly & brilliant service. Everyone was extremely kind, knowledgeable about the food, accommodating, and the owner Gary was such a delight to meet. So humble & inviting, this place deserves every award out there. Food was amazing. Can’t complain about that. Service was very friendly but way too rushed . Special occasion dinner for two with drinks appetizers and desserts and we were in and out in 65 minutes. Not the relaxed and enjoyable dinner I was hoping for but one course right after the other . Not the way I like to enjoy a 200 dollar dinner. In the reservation they asked if we were there for a special occasion and I was for my wife’s birthday. Thought they could at least acknowledge it but nothing. Wouldn’t recommend as we’ve been to a few much better restaurants that made you feel more welcome. This one required a deposit. Like I said, kudos to the chefs but needs to work on the service for such a high end restaurant.

Everything was perfect. The rooms were lovely, the servers attentive but not overly, and the food was amazing from the amuse bouche to the dessert. We will eat here again next time we are in Savannah.
