Elizabeth on 37th
Southern hospitality, fine coastal cuisine, and well-chosen wines in a comfortable, elegant 1900 mansion have made Elizabeth on 37th a favorite destination in Savannah since 1981. Inspired by Chef Elizabeth Terry, Elizabeth on 37th continues to serve a sumptuous combination of traditional and innovative dishes, directed by Chef Kelly Yambor. The wine program and service staff are led by owners Greg and Gary Butch. Elizabeth on 37th is located in the Victorian District. The mansion, built for a cotton broker, is decorated with historic Savannah colors and patterns, fresh flowers, original paintings and ceramics, and is entered through fragrant herb gardens. *For parties larger than 8, please contact the restaurant for availability via phone or email. Thank you.*
Amazing service, food, and people, best meal in Savannah by far!
Mushroom and roasted tomatoes with grit cake and mushroom reduction appetizer was phenomenal
Flounder and quail special was also delicious
Service is always at the highest level — course delivery is always when you expect it — perfect
Highly recommended old Savannah experience. Great value and service
It was a great night out
Great food, great wine, but they messed up my entree! We had to wait whilst the correct order was prepared. It was delicious once it arrived, but it meant a longer wait than necessary! They partially made up for it with a complimentary serving of pecan pie and two glasses of moscatel!
Elizabeth's was highly recommended to me by friends. We were extremely happy with our decision to have dinner here. From the moment we arrived we enjoyed a level of excellence in the staff and fantastic food. I will be happy to recommend Elizabeth's on 37th to anyone visiting Savannah.
Our favorite Savannah restaurant by far. The food is absolutely incredible; each dish is a work of art. The service was outstanding from beginning to end and the restaurant itself is peaceful and relaxing. Just go. You will not regret it.
Great food and even better service!
Reunion with friends
Food took forever to come out. We waited an hour for entrees as we just sat there.
Great service, excellent food, and unique atmosphere
Fabulous food from a menu emphasizing seafood. Creative but not weird. All three courses that we ordered were delicious plus we were given two excellent small complimentary tasting courses and an excellent salad. The main courses were generous portions. The food quality was competitive with high end NY restaurants at a far lower price point.
Went for a very special occasion - leap day 2/29 is our once every 4 years anniversary - but was a little disappointed in the overall experience. We eat out a lot and won’t hesitate to spend $200 on an evening as long as the food is memorable. Sad to say Elizabeth on 37th was not memorable. Everything was average. Will not recommend. The competition in Savannah is going to put this place out of business before long.
Impeccable service, my husband and I couldn’t believe how fast each of our courses and drinks were delivered. The vibe was very romantic and the food was also delicious.
The restaurant was very good, but we were nonetheless disappointed because we used to get the best food there, and that no longer appears to be the case.
This is a fine restaurant in a lovely setting with a very formal approach to service that borders on pretentious. The food is very good - we had a group of four and everyone was pleased with their meal.
Outstanding food, wine and service! The owner's, Gary and Greg Burch, are hands on in the dining room and most knowledgeable about the vast array of wines being served.
Dinner was fantastic. Right from our arrival the waiter was outstanding at describing the specials. Three of us had the Snapper special and one of us had the quail special. Then we all indulged in their homemade desserts. Best of all we were seated right next to the fire which took the chill out of the unseasonably colder weather. On the way out we had a brief history of the Mansion. We will definitely be back on our next trip through Savannah.
Wonderful meal! Started with the seared scallops with cauliflower purée which were delicious. Hubby got the snapper special that was in rusted with potato and Asiago cheese with Brussels sprouts and he proclaimed it as one of the best meals he ever had. I had the pork chop that was so tender and delicious. Wait staff was outstanding. This will definitely be on our list to revisit when we’re in Savannah again.
Have been to Elizabeth on 37th many times. It is always fantastic. I can’t recommend it highly enough.
beautiful setting, perfect service, outstanding food. had a spectacular piece of fish. thought the desert was just average, but that was okay. :) incredible salad. very nice and professional service staff. this should be on every must-dine-at restaurant while in savannah. we also had a reasonably priced wilmette pinot and fantastic coffee.
This was one of the finest restaurants I've ever had the pleasure to dine. The wait staff was superb.
We celebrated our anniversary there! Just beautiful❣️ Such a quaint, unique place to celebrate. The food was wonderful. Would highly recommend.
Dinner was lovely. We ordered two of the most popular dishes (per our server), the Grouper Celeste and the Savannah Red Rice. Both very delicious. The appetizer special (scallops and cauliflower purée) was also totally awesome. Service was great. Very attentive and, while you’re waited on by multiple servers, everyone is very genuine and knowledgeable. I was a little thrown when I saw a group of woefully underdressed, raucous, and wish-we-were-still-at-our-fraternity dudes in the main dining room when we entered. I couldn’t understand why they had been allowed in when this is an upscale restaurant with a business casual dress code. Upon leaving, one of them started yelling classic rock songs at the top of his lungs, and each one of them took the restaurant’s wine-filled stemware with them. It’s not the restaurant’s fault that they were accommodating to a bunch of obvious jerks, but maybe more enforcement of the dress code for the sake of the rest of the diners might weed out that kind of diner (or at least make them try a little harder to be socially appropriate). All in all, still loved everything. Especially the wedding proposal I saw on the porch at the end of the night. :)
We had the Grouper and the Brined pork chop both were very good. Service was good. We have been going here occasional for over 30 years. My recommendation is that the rooms need to be updated as they are the same all these years. It was a busy night so a little loud. However, the experience was very good and we would go back.
Fantasic food in an atmosphere with a laid back, classy vibe. We’ll be back!
The food was totally delectable and the service was impeccable. Greg and Gary were gracious in sharing some of their history and stories with us.
A must if you are in Savannah and want something more formal. The service is amazing, the food delicious and the house is a place you need to see in Savannah! Spend my birthday there with friends and loved it! This is our second time there.
Ate at 8pm. We cycled through 3 different servers during the course of our meal. Their interaction/engagement ranged from enthusiastic to dismissive. It was disappointing as an “experience,” but the food was fair. The only question I’m left trying to weigh is whether the food and the service warranted the price. Would not recommend. Will likely not return.
Elizabeth’s is my favorite place to go and has always been a wonderful experience, but last night was marred by the extremely loud noise level... we were in a small back room with mostly tables for two... and one 6-top and a 4-top. The table for 6 was extremely loud and dominated the room. The table for 4 raised their voices so they could hear each other, as did the waiters explaining specials and trying to take orders... resulting in a noise level that made it impossible for any of the couples to hear each other. It really ruined our evening. That room is too small for a table larger than 4...
Everything was so delicious, the service was impeccable. I only have one thought that took away from the experience, we were seated in an extremely cold corner of the room, I asked to move and was graciously reseated elsewhere but since there were plenty of tables I wondered why we were put there at first. We were dressed casually, northern casual that is.
This was our second visit to Elizabeth’s and it was just as outstanding as we remembered. The service is exceptional and food is delicious. Highly recommend!
This is our favorite place in Savannah. Outstanding wine list and great entre offerings. This is one of those old standbys that could easily rest on their laurels but which keeps up with ever changing and interesting menus. Thanks for a great evening.
The food and drinks great. The service was the worst we’ve ever had for an upscale restaurant. Old pink house and Vic’s on the river were much better. Overrated. Would not go back.
Is an absolutely amazing place we always go for special occasions and sometimes for just to go. Food and a always incredible and service is over the top. Elizabeth’s never disappoints
Excellent dining experience. The atmosphere is lovely. Low volume level so it is great for a date. The food has fantastic flavors. The service was outstanding.
One of our favorite restaurants in Savannah! Great creative food, wonderful service and ambiance.
Excellent food and very attentive staff. Pricey but worth it for a special occasion
A long overdue amazing dinner! I use to always visit Elizabeth’s when family would come visit me when I was a student at Scad a while back, always the best! Tonight was nothing less! We got to see our favorite waiter Kym, and it was simply all a treat!
It was fine. The food was good, but not for the price. I’ve had finer dining for the value.
