Elixor Ratings and Reviews
The fish was avarage.
The entrance of fried wrapped avocado was delicious, as well the jambalaya.
The cheese cake was outstanding.
As interior designer, was not pleasant. It was bulky look and the lighting is ugly.
The place is just ok.
Service was very pleasant. Tried new item on menu- seafood linguine which was very disappointing as it was really a big bowl of pasta, 3 shrimp and lots of cut up sausage - they were very gracious in taking it back and allowing me to select another item from the menu. However, by this time my husband had finished his dinner and so I tasted my meal and then packed it up to go.
Great, friendly service. Food was delicious but the servings were huge and we couldn't finish it. Since we had a birthday at our table, we were offered a piece of chocolate cake, on the house. Very pleasant atmosphere. Menu was extensive, and there were many things that we wanted to try, so we will have to return!
The menu on the restaurant website does not correspond exactly to what is on the menu at the restaurant. We asked for the cod that was listed on the website. After a long wait the waiter said OK, we can have it as part of the table d'hote at what we thought an inflated price.
The food was good but the service very slow and inattentive.
Our experience was seriously less enjoyable due to the limited menu, reserving on Labor Day is apparently the equivalent of any other monday and I was understanding the impression from a phone call I placed a week in advance that that would not be the case. So the 7 people I recommended to Elixor didn't receive the type of meal we were expecting (brunch). Also, I placed an order for a burger that was dry and overall bland. I rated so highly because of my previous experiences but was not pleased this time and will probably not go back.
Good ambiance and server was good. Not impressed with the food. The shrimp with scampi sauce pasta was bland. The avocado for both the salads and rolls were too hard/not ripe. My selections for dessert were a let down. The carrot cake lacked the cream cheese filling it was advertised as having. Also, the chocolate hazelnut cheesecake looked like somethinv i could have bought in the freezer section of a grocery store. I will give this place another try, but will choose another dish and dessert!
Made a reservation courtesy of the restaurant's affilliation with Open Table. It was real easy (30 minutes prior) and given it was a Saturday evening, I was very pleased that the booked time was confirmed.
We got there 10 minutes prior and the hostess confirmed it BUT one of the managers said that while he would honor the reservation, he could not commit to the time as there were people waiting at the door for much longer than our party. I told him that was not my concern. If the restaurant wants to drive its business using social media then there are consequences and responsibilities they must accept. Ten minutes later we were seated. If the manager had said nothing, then this part of the review would have been omitted. BTW, after we were seated the line up disappeared.
Our server Marco was great. We ordered a selection of meals off the Table d'Hôte and regular menu. The Caesar salad was very good.
The strip sirloin was broiled and cooked as requested, medium rare. Excellent. One recommendation would be to include the weight of the raw steak on the menu. The fries were crisp. I would exclude the side "gravy". This steak doesn't need anything to enhance/complement its flavor beyond its grilled seasoning.
The broiled shrimp with the steak and chicken meals were excellent, too.
The large baby back ribs were enjoyed by two of our party. Finger-lickin' good.
We as a group enjoyed our respective meals and the service received by our server, Marco. We wish that our initial experience with the manager had not affected our overall visit but it did.
Worth a second visit.
Very good cheesecake.
We stopped in for a quick lunch & tried the
'Kale & Quinoa salad', it had a few good elements for a NEW
dish but over all lacked taste , dressing & Quinoa.
We also tried the NEW
'Buffalo Firecracker crispy chicken strips', again we hoped for a crispy crunch to the chicken however it was soggy.
We mentioned both issues to the server, he said that's how it was suppose to be. Almost putting his finger into the salad to point out a couple of grains of Quinoa.
So CRISPY chicken doesn't necessarily need to actually be crispy. No attempt to at least offer to change the dish. We were in a rush & the taste wasn't BAD just not what we expected based on the descriptions! 🙁😕
It was okay. The service could've been a bit better - with 7 people at the table the waiters should know they're going to get about $50 in tips and they should basically watch the table at all times. While the service was not 'bad', I was expecting more for the 15% on top of the 5% on top of the 9.5% taxes which comes to about fifty bucks.
My first time was at lunch. I had the Herb encrusted salmon salad. It was wonderful , maybe a little to much dressing.
The reservation was in the evening. I had the same salmon with steamed vegetables. Although very tasty it was not as good as the lunch salad.
