Elixir Ratings and Reviews
Dinner at Elixir is extraordinary! No where in the Upper Valley is there better food or a nicer staff. I had the best lobster bisque I have ever tasted. Not too much sherry, not too much cream and a full 2 1/2 oz of lobster pieces. My entre of scallops on shredded potato was perfect. Both were crisp on the outside and melt in your mouth delicate on the inside. My husband's appetizer of lambchop "pops" was luscious and flavor filled. His veal saltimboca is his favorite item on Elixir's menu. My husband is an extraordinary cook and swears he will never be able to make saltimboca as perfectly as the chef at Elixir. The owners, Skip and Jane dedicate themselves to caring for their staff and their customers which pays off doubly for the customers. Elixir has the most cordial, knowedgeable, and enthusiastic servers anywhere. They clearly like their jobs and add a quality of enjoyment to the dinner that matches the quality of the food. Dinner at Elixir is the best you will ever have in the Upper Valley.
The food was fantastic. The server was very polite and professional. She did get a bit busy and was delayed in bringing us the items we requested. The gentleman working the front desk was warm and friendly. Overall, it was a great dinning experience. Bravo! I will return anytime I'm in town.
I fondly remember the opening of Elixir many years ago - everyone was so excited to have a new, upscale restaurant in White River Junction. On a recent visit back to Vermont, my friends there suggested we go to Elixir again. The food was scrumptious - friends had the crispy chicken thighs and I had petit filets. Divine and cooked to perfection. Just the right amount of food, not too much, not too little. Our server was delightful and checked in often but not too often. We asked for a quiet area so we could talk and were seated in the small back dining room which was perfect. You can see out into the main restaurant but the noise level is much less! I am so glad Elixir has been so successful.
Great great food and cocktails. Service was fantastic too. The waitress and owner seemed to both be locals and were so friendly and appreciative of our business. Oh and the wine......we had a bottle that we know and it was like 20% less than we have seen elsewhere. I think we paid $72 and have paid $50 in a liquor store. Not a bad markup for a restaurant at all.
This restaurant, in the heart of White RIver Junction, was really a treat. It is a farm to table restaurant which is truly delicious but not fancy. We shared the Elixir Salad with tasty roasted beets, celery root and carrots. It had a local farm feta and a warm bacon vinaigrette. YUM. For the main course we chose the shrimp scampi with mushrooms and linguini and the petite filet mignon. Both were delicious. Our waitress was simply delightful who answered all our questions easily. For dessert we opted for a homemade ice cream sandwich. It hit the spot. This is a great place to stop if you are heading up to the mountains. Very enjoyable. I thought the price point was excellent value.
ELIXIR is truly a very fine restaurant. Skip and Jane work very hard to assure that everyone is very satisfied with service and food. They are committed to a high level of excellence. I strongly recommend this restaurant if you are in the VT/NH vicinity Routes 89/91.
Great food (and drinks) and great service. The tiramisu was amazing - and so are the fries. I got the salmon and my boyfriend got veal and both were delicious. Really personal service, which is great. When my boyfriend and I go here, we go all out, so it's a more occasional visit. However, prices are fair for the food and experience. We are discussing going back just for a round of drinks, fries, and tiramisu =).
Went for dinner with my husband and daughters (5&8) while staying in Quechee over the Christmas holiday week. Food was fantastic! Best meal of the week, and fairly reasonably priced given that we’d had dinner the previous night closer to Quechee the night before and it was awful (and the same price). So- not cheap, but worth every penny. No kids menu but very accommodating- made one DD homemade chicken tenders, the other had a mussels app with side of pasta. Monkfish special & veal were delicious as was calamari app. Waitress was attentive, accommodating, and just great all around! Would absolutely recommend and revisit if in the area again!
From being greeted at the door upon arrival to checking in with us as we were leaving, the experience exceeded all expectations. The food could not have been better prepared, and the special touches (e.g. the mussels in curry sauce) were both simple and elegant. The entire dining experience was just wonderful.
As has been our experience at Elixir, it was a very enjoyable dinner once again. Service is excellent and the prices are very reasonable for our area. Wine prices are very fair and they offer great choices. Food is fresh and prepared to order. I checked the "anniversary" notation on the reservation and it was noted by Skip, the owner/host, as well as our server, who both offered their congratulations to us. I have hearing issues and do find that Elixir is noisy as there are no surfaces to absorb any of the sound. But we know that when we go there and just deal with it and enjoy everything about the restaurant. We are fairly regular customers and intent to keep patronizing the restaurant, which has become my favorite in the Upper Valley.
This was my first visit to Elixer,I wanted to entertain some business acquaintences and found everything from my bartender....the server and the food and great dessert to beat any expectation that I had in mind.I'll be back sooner than later. Greg K.
