Elia Restaurant Ratings and Reviews
The lamb chops were some of the best I've ever had. Their grilled shrimp main dish was lovely, especially paired with the pomegranate. I really enjoyed their rice pudding. However, they need to work on their other desserts. The baklava was bland, as was the chocolate cake.
This was our first visit to Elia and we will be back for sure. The quality of all of our dinners was excellent ( Greek Salad, Lamb Shank, Shrimp, Salmon) as was the rice pudding. The service was first rate and the ambiance was relaxing as the noise level was low, a rarity these days. Pete the owner was very gracious as well. can't wait to return.
A lovely dining experience, from the greeting at the door and the gracious, attentive wait staff to truly outstanding food. The back courtyard us exceptionally charming, with a water feature and stone walls. I recommend the lamb dish in the clay pot. And the dirty (vodka) martini, which is one of the better I've had. A kind of perfect evening.
Never disappointed! Fabulous specials plus fantastic selection on menu! Very hard decisions to make!! Roasted chicken is absolutely fantastic! Always my go to! Celebrated my 50th there, my grandsons baptism and many other wonderful occasions! Staff is wonderful! Proprietor s Peter and Christine are always on hand for recommendations!!
As always, Elia never disappoints.
I had a glass of their Greek white wine which I enjoyed with my meal. We started off with the Horyiatiki -- Beefsteak tomatoes, cucumbers, red onion, feta, kalamata olives, caper berries -- wonderfully refreshing and bright with acidity. Their bread with olive oil -- I couldn't get enough of it! We shared the Xtapodi Skaras -- Grilled octopus, fennel puree, chickpea confit, roasted peppers, sun dried tomatoes & capers which was awesome. I had the special Bronzino -- cooked to perfection along with the side of delicious lemon potatoes, and my husband ordered the chicken dish -- Kotopoulo Sto Fourno,
Oven roasted chicken, gigantes stew, fresh tomatoes, wild mushrooms, roasted garlic & watercress.
All was outstanding.
There was a family celebration in the room we were seated in which was deafening -- my husband was a bit frustrated by this as he couldn't hear me (a first : )
The next time I'll request the table for two up front at the bar or we'll make our reservation for earlier than 7PM before the locals arrive for their family gatherings.
Been to multiple Greek restaurants in city which I love and love to go to, was feeling lazy one night and found this place close to my apartment, and I don't plan on going back to city to spend double the value that I could get at this place! Food is unbelievable, price is great, overall great, check it out and I guarantee you won't be disappointed.
Food was delicious. We ordered the Greek salad, fried zucchini and meatballs for appetizers. All fresh and delicious. I got the Greek paella which was amazing. My daughter got the steak and my husband ordered the moussaka. All good. The Iris cocktail was tasty. The service could be slow at times but I definitely would go back.
this is our go to place in bay ridge. The service is friendly and attentive, the food is the best! everything always prepared so perfectly and delicious! the grilled fish of the day is sooooo good and the mavrouli salad is a favorite. Can't find a better restaurant In the city than Elia, they are consistent perfection!
Been going to Elia's for some time. This was the worse ever. we were seated for over 25 minutes before I was able to get someone to come to the table to ask for bread and water. Other people who came in afterwards, had bread and water on the table immediately and their orders taken promptly. It was another 20 minutes before they came back to tell us about the specials and then take our orders. We were ready to walk out. While waiting for our main course, we overheard the waiter telling the table next to ours of other specials that were not mentioned to us. One of the specials, my girlfriend would have taken without hesitation. We like Elia's very much, but after this last experience, it might be some time before we come back.
