ELEVEN Ratings and Reviews
The service was below par but the food was good. Our server didn't introduce himself as such so I was beginning to wonder if he was our busboy because he poured our water but didn't say much else at the beginning. We went with the server's suggestions and we were happy with the selections except for the kale/Brussels sprout salad. The salad was very airy, light, and pretty bland. We had to ask for bread twice. We felt we were sitting in the "dark zone" because of the very inattentive service. Unfortunately, the lag in service ruined the dining experience. I observed other tables getting much better service. The server was nice but not attentive. Overall I would suggest the restaurant with hesitation.
Everything was prepared perfectly.
The steak tartare was meaty and well seasoned.
The swordfish was perfectly seared.
There was no crumb left behind. That's the best kind of meal!
My only criticism is the lighting in the restaurant is too dark. I want to be able to see the artistry of the plated food without using my iPhone. My husband used his phone to light he plate up so I could see and take pics of the food.
4 of us visiting Pittsburgh dined at Eleven on a friend’s recommendation. We were very pleased with the food and service. We had a broad range of dishes from the menu and were happy with each. Meat and Seafood alike were beautifully prepared and presented. More salad options would be appreciated. The waiter was attentive, helpful and professional. I will gladly return. A special shout out to their take on banana cream pie!
Very nice place. Hostess had tremendous seating and timing issues, but waiter eventually made it right. Salad was extremely salty so we returned it without question or charge to us. The entrees (Amish chicken) were fantastic. Dessert was comp'd because of the salad; they stand behind their product. We would return because the entrees and dessert were absolutely delicious. They also have the best cold water in the city at no charge. BrianDDS
The food, atmosphere and sever assistants were amazing! Our server was just rude. He continuously said “whatever” if my boyfriend didn’t order something. For instance I ordered a cocktail and my boyfriend ordered water. My boyfriend does not drink alcohol. Instead of the server offering another soft drink, etc. he said whatever and rolled his eyes. This happened about 4 times throughout the dinner. Another time when I ordered a salad and my boyfriend did not. The server replied “what are you going to do? Just watch her eat.” Then again, I ordered a glass of wine and the server looked at my boyfriend and say “you still aren’t drinking? Whatever.” Lastly, we did not order dessert because we had two appetizers, a salad, and two entrees. We were just full. The server says to us “No drinks and no desserts? Whatever.” All with this annoying eye roll. Honestly the only reason we tipped very well was so the server assistants got paid.
I hate to complain but he was just rude. Some people just don’t drink alcohol.
Overall, we would go back hoping for a different server because everything else was great!
Very much enjoyed the Salmon and the complimentary chocolates for my birthday. The 3 green salad was OK and overpriced - would not get again and you couldn't substitute the dressing. My husband's filet was very good also, but a little pricey. Bonus was free parking in the lot across the street on Sunday evening. Used my birthday coupon, but would only go back for special occasion, or when I have a coupon as was on the pricey side and food was not quite as good as other like-priced restaurants.
We were celebrating a lot of missed birthdays, anniversaries, etc. When I made the reservation on Open Table, I forgot to mention that my grandma was on a walker and we couldn't be seated upstairs. The staff made some quick changes and we were seated at the chef's table. Our waiter was super and the food was delicious. My grandma, who is 94 and pretty picky, said it's her favorite restaurant. The portions were great and I would come back for brunch. I have also had dinner here in the past for a special occasion and it was outstanding as well.
I took my Husband to Eleven to celebrate his birthday, and the food was delicious!! We had the crab cake appetizer that we devoured, and my husband had a few oysters that he also enjoyed. I had the lamb parpadelle that I loved, and husband had the beef tenderloin that he also loved, but thought there should have been more potato gnocchi or side dish to go with the meat. as near the end of the meal he had run out of sides to go with the beef. Drinks were good, although a little pricey. Service was good, but had to ask for bread, and didn't get it served to us until after our main course came out. Also seating was awkward...they have many large booths which are great for groups, but to have one booth divided up into two tables felt like we were on a group date! From the corner spot you are looking directly across to the table/couple sitting next to you...might not be all that bad except for the fact they were making out. Not really what I want to see when sitting down for dinner...so i'd suggest better arrangements for two person tables or something with more privacy. Otherwise a great night!
When we arrived they sat us at the very first booth they could find by the door which was separated from the kitchen only by a thin panel of glass. Only view was the exit. After we asked to be moved, we did get a better seat upstairs but shared a U-shaped booth with another couple (awkward). Food was overpriced and average at best. Would not recommend
I never write reviews on restaurants because I know they are pointless but I had to in this case. I came to Eleven for the first time in 3 years this week...and I was so excited. It used to have what I believed was the best burger I had ever tasted...and worth every penny of the $17 price. Unfortunately this is no longer the case. Management, or the head chef appear to have begun cutting costs, reducing the amount of braised veal on the burger and the size of the patty. The burger still tastes good, but is nowhere near the grand experience I raved to friends about Since having my first one seven years ago. They also ruined the soft pretzel recipe, by removing the epic beer cheese it used to come with. Now they just slopped cheese slices on top and melted them like an expensive version of the Fyre Festival sandwich. I could go on about the paltry 31 dollar swordfish, or the fact that they removed their housemade sea salt caramels, and replaced them with unimpressive white chocolate balls...but I won’t waste my time like I wasted my money on my most recent, and unfortunately final trip to what I once called my favorite restaurant in Pittsburgh.
I always enjoy the food here. Lovely presentation with unique combination of tastes. Portion size may be Considered small if you’re a big eater. The amount Of foodwas fine for me. Pork chop grilled with sauerkraut was delicious
Service excellent too. Thanks for a great dinner
We were excited to try out this new restaurant. The food was outstanding. We did not like the seating for 2. We were enjoying a nice, intimate dinner and then people who were waiting for their table sat on the edge of our seating and were very loud. For the prices we were paying, this was a big disappointment.
We have been here many times before and we were disappointed. Ours server tried hard And was very pleasant but the food was thrown at us and served in disarray with no one knowing who ordered what dish plus my entree was cold And even after sending it back wasn't hot! The alcohol was extremely pricey for nothing special. And the staff were unable to meet a request we called about ahead of time saying the call was never marked. Just not up to par!
