ELEVEN Ratings and Reviews
ELEVEN is my absolute favorite restaurant in the city! I come almost every year for my birthday and during the year also!! Server is always attentive, meals are always excellent and everybody that takes care of you at your table is always extremely polite and friendly!!
One of my favorite places to have a consistently great meal with excellent service and lovely wines. This visit was no exception. My friend was celebrating her birthday and all the staff made sure to acknowledge it and wish her well. Myles provided excellent service which was unobtrusive and prompt! Dessert arrived with a piece of white chocolate in the shape of a sign wishing my friend a Happy Birthday written in dark chocolate. Was enjoyed with gusto by the birthday girl. Scallop appetizer was excellent and both the lamb and hanger steak mains were equally awesome! All in all another wonderful meal at Eleven!
Had a dinner with friends after a lecture at Heinz History Center. Most of us ordered a cocktail, an appetizer and salad. Fabulous service, food was outstanding and interesting and prepared quickly. We had a great meal and enjoyed a wonderful visit with friends. The atmosphere is lovely. I highly recommend.
Can not say enough good things about our visit. Our visit was extremely pleasant. The hostess was attentive and cheerful. We arrived early for our reservation and informed us we could wait in the bar until our table was ready. The staff was attentive once we were seated. The food delicious, and menu options extensive. Our food came out quickly. We were using a coupon for a free entree, and when the manager reviewed our servers receipts and noticed the coupon was proceeded incorrectly called to inform us of the error. As a result she credited the credit card the difference.
What a terrific restaurant! We were visiting Pittsburgh for an overnight and chose Eleven after a search on Open Table. We had a dozen Fishers Island Oysters to start off - terrific. We both had the potato soup which was wonderful for a cold snowy night. My husband had the swordfish and I the seafood tasting - both terrific. Did not get dessert as portions were plenty to fill us up. The service was a tad slow, but very friendly and not a problem for us as we were in no hurry. My husband had a Manhattan cocktail and I tried the Starry Night and Maple Smash cocktails. His pour was very small for the price but my cocktails were tasty and more in line with what I would expect size wise. The atmosphere was very open but cozy. I don't like that restaurants arrange tables in a line with only 12" between them, but no one was sitting at the table next to us so we had privacy for conversation. There were very comfortable and more private booths for larger groups. We would definitely return to Eleven and recommend it.
First floor dining area under construction. Would not have gone if I knew that. We were put in a corner on the second floor. Very dark. A couple of larger parties in the middle.,
Had a kale salad with Brussel sprouts. Mostly kale. Just ok.
Ordered swordfish. Three pieces . It wasn’t swordfish. Although they insisted. Certainly doesn’t taste like the Cadbah swordfish. The bread was excellent.
Menu needs refreshed. Restaurant has lost some of its luster.,
The food and the service were fabulous. On a very cold day, the restaurant was warm and inviting. The staff was friendly. The food was delicious and the service first rate. I would recommend Eleven to anyone who is looking for a first rate dining experience.
Love this restaurant . Best atmosphere in Pittsburgh in my opinion. Consistent with food and atmosphere. Also very friendly . Always delivers . Menu changes which is nice too. Great for just 2 or large groups, lots of different seating arrangements. Nice bar area off to the side if wanting to socialize before or after dinner as well.
Restaurant was not accommodating to being gluten free. On a special night like New Years, 2 out of the 4 people in our party went without eating any food. The server had no interest in helping find food that fit our allergies and did not care if we ate or not. I would not suggest to anyone who has an allergy to eat from this restaurant.
Place was fine. To be fair it was early New Year's Eve. Service was fantastic. Waitress was attentive as were her assistants. Food was delivered promptly and well plated. I had swordfish which was pan fried I think. Nothing special. Certainly not bad but meh. Apps were ok. Maybe 3.5 is better score
My husband and I had dined at Eleven about a month becore this occasion. We enjoy every opportunity we have to do so. This time I had the vegetarian tasting menu. The appetizer was a purée of winter squash — a hearty soup, in fact — that was both delicious and beautifully presented. I can say the same for the three principal courses — a beet salad, a parsnip tart, and cavatelli with vegetables and marscapone. The combinations of textures was rich and innovative. My husband and I splot my last coirse, the “candy bar” dessert.
Our server, Laura, was attentive and good-humored. She was ably supported by several others who provided bread and water and brought the dishes from the kitchen.
This time we were seated on the first floor, near the kitchen. Even so, the noise level was low and we jad no difficulty telling each other how much we were enjoying our meal.
Another wonderful dinner at Eleven. We started at their beautiful bar for a cocktail before dinner. At dinner we were seated downstairs in a 2 person booth. The restaurant was pleasantly warm while it was frigid outside. We were offered a selection of bread before ordering, and ultimately tried all three breads, and all were wonderful. I ordered the filet and it came out rare, as ordered. I asked if the chef could substitute the root vegetable puree for the blue cheese on the dish and that was done with no problem. We'll definitely return.
Eleven is our go-to choice for any special event. We were celebrating our anniversary and the evening could not have turned out better. The food and the service were both spectacular. We have found this to be true every time we go there. We highly recommend Eleven for any special occasion.
The food was great as always, but we were seated downstairs close to other tables. I’ve been to Eleven countless times and prefer the quiet area upstairs. I’ll request it next time. The service was efficient but not personable. I think he was busy. It was not my best experience there, but I’ll go back.
