The duck was delicious, and the pork medallions were equally tasty. It's good bad another really good Austin restaurant is closing, their last day was 9/3/16.
This was our first visit to Eleven Plates & Wine, and it was very enjoyable. The menu is creative, and the food was delicious. Our server, Brad, was very knowledgable and helpful. Unfortunately, the restaurant is closing Labor Day weekend, so we won't be able to return. :-(
So sorry to see this restaurant close. We have always enjoyed the ambiance and intimacy of a smaller venue. Great wine selections - going way too fast with 40% off all bottles. Our waiter made our evening with dear friends all the more special. Will try to go one more time before they close September 3. All the best to everyone there.
Too bad they are closing forever September 3
It seems pointless to write a review about a place that is closing in less than a week. They have already given up. At 7 PM they were out of burgers and had 1 ribeye. The rice was plain, salty and the texture said out of a box. If you want ak OK dinner with a great deal on wine then help them close. If not don't bother.
So sad that our first visit might be our last because your are closing!
WE had a great meal but were sad to hear they will be closing September 3. I think Jack Allen's going in across the street hurt business. They have always been a little pricey for not much food, but the food has always been fresh and consistently good.
They are running a great special on wine right now, 40% off bottles.
Sorry to see them go.
Good area, free parking, upscale food and nice wines
Great food, great service, great experience! I wish they had more choices for wines by the glass, but if you are buying a bottle of wine, there are choices out the wazoo.
The menu has changed and appears more casual with burgers taking large part of the menu. Some of my favorites are gone. Still a great place but prefer the upscale menu.
Our entrees were fantastic, which included a dish from almost each type of entree- duck, steak, and pork. The Tres Leches cake was great! I was a little disappointed at the brussel sprouts as I have ordered them before and they were divine! They were a bit overcooked this time around and difficult to chew. My friend ordered the lava cake and was greatly disappointed as it looked like it had barely been cooked and was just mush. Not one of the four of us would eat it.
All in all, I've recommended this place to several people, I just hope Eleven Plates can keep the same food integrity each time around so that the dishes I liked are great every time I go.
We were celebrating our son's upcoming wedding with a "last" family dinner. You all made it so special. The food was delicious and the wine was outstanding. Thank you! We will be back the next time we are in Austin. This is one of our favorites.
Pro: easy reservation, flexible with seating, lots parking, tasty cocktails, robust wine list, excellent service, clean restroom, some tasty food - pork belly sliders, meatballs, truffle fries, brussels sprouts.
Con: lots stairs, if there was an elevator it was mot marked nor mentioned despite saying that I had someone disabled. No view; seriously, I wonder if I read it wrong The restroom was at the opposite end of the building within the restaurant but if you're disabled that could be a serious problem, my. $42 steak was way overcooked. They offered to cook a new one I declined they did remove it from the bill which I appreciate. Mostly I found the food options to be overpriced, maybe a little too ambitious with some of the flavor combinations.
We enjoyed ourselves.
The food and service was very good!
Great Salmon. Add a 2nd fish entree. Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Eleven consistently impresses with modern, fresh dishes, a terrific wine selection and creative drinks. Our favorite go-to restaurant for friendly, upscale dining with friends & family, and the service can't be beat.
Thank you so much for the pleasant visit, we will be back.
We made a reservation for the special Mother's Day Brunch and we're not disappointed. The staff was very friendly and busy helping the many diners there that morning. The owner (?) Was especially gracious without being obtrusive. The offerings were very good, not great, but a very solid spread. The curry chicken salad could have had more curry though. Other than that, we had no complaints and left very happily fed. We look forward to returning to try the regular menu items.
This place is in a beautiful location. The wine list is out of this world! The service is great and very accommodating. The dinner was a bit pricey but so worth it.
Four of us went for lunch to celebrate Admin Day. Food was good and we were able to sit at a table on their great patio.
Drinks and wine were exceptional. The food could not have been better! Highly recommend!
The west side of Austin needs great places like this to avoid having to fight with downtown or Congress parking issues. I originally thought this might be focused on the wine bar more than the food, but I had a great steak and my business associates both had salmon. All was amazing as was the server who was attentive, but let us have a business meeting without "butting in". I highly recommend this restaurant and wine bar!
Always enjoyed this restaurant and am sad to see that it closed.
Have eaten here a number of time and aways enjoyable. Good menu and exceptional service. This was Easter Brunch. It was fine but we thought a little over priced for the options they presented. Still an enjoyable Easter Brunch.
11 Plates is a charming neighborhood secret in Davenport Village off 360/Westlake Drive. You'll find an interesting and tasty wine list, plus a unique and flavorful menu. There is a balcony patio for outdoor dining that has a wonderful view. For a romantic dinner, or a nice place to chill after work, Eleven Plates is certainly worthy of your short list. I should add that our service experience has been consistently excellent. We'll be back.
We were happy to find Eleven Plates & Wine. Good service and a great wine list. Both of our entrees were delicious. We will return.
Superb restaurant and in my neighborhood. I would happily travel to eat here but am so glad I don't have to!
Great dishes and wonderful wine.
We had fried brussel sprouts which were good. Fried shrimp were the ez peel type that has a slippery texture - poor quality shrimp. The preparation of the shrimp was fine but the shrimp were quite disappointing. And the duck confit gumbo has an unappetizing bowl of mush - not good at all - they should take this off the menu. Wait staff was nice. This was a lunch to celebrate a medical milestone with a nice bottle of wine and very disappointing food.
Dining at Eleven Plates is always a delight. Cocktails and food offerings change somewhat frequently, reflecting local sourcing and seasonal offerings. My most recent visit was highlighted by the evening's special, a grilled salmon filet, served with a deep purple Thai passion sticky rice, enhanced by a ginger sauce, with a hint of coconut milk, all complemented by sugar snap peas. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and wines from an extensive list. When I was deciding between two options, she offered to pour a taste of each, so that I could select the choice best suited to my palate. Tremendous! I awoke the next morning, and the first thought which entered my head was "What an exceptional dinner I enjoyed last evening!" GO, and ENJOY!!
Went with a group of girlfriends to celebrate my birthday. The service was fantastic! The food was good and the atmosphere was great. It was a good time to catch up with friends. It was our first time there and I would definitely go back!
I was looking for a new Austin restaurant with great food and ambiance I found eleven plates and wine may be more like a neighborhood gem than a culinary experience. They were out of 2 featured items. A third item, which was also featured as a special, was actually a regular listing on the menu.
I feel the Valentine Dinner was overpriced for what was served. There was some confusion from our waitress about how many entrees each couple can order. We had to correct her because it was in print and others around us was ordering multiple entrees.
Overall I was not impressed and will not go back. The steak was on point but not worth the $$ for overall.
Go for the wine. Great service, wine list and awesome sommelier. My steak came out cold and my wife's salmon was partially cooked. I'll be back...just not for dinner.
This place is a staple of perfection for the West Lake community. Many restaurants in this area fail, but this one is a hidden gem, so please eat here and support it! Perfect for lunch, dinner, or to-go food - it's all delicious. The menu changes seasonally, so your taste buds never get bored. There are some very unique menu items offered that you can't get anywhere else. This place certainly can hold its own when compared to Jack Allen's across the street. The wine offerings are perfect for any budget and occasion, and always picked out based on your personalized needs. The owner Mike is a friendly and familiar face, and pays close attention to the patrons' needs. The only thing missing is their brunch. They had to close for weekend brunch due to the lack of patrons, but it was amazing and delicious! If enough people support this place, maybe they'll be able to bring brunch back! Their wine tastings/classes and special occasion menus are a must for holidays as well.
Shrimp & grits were great, cheese plate was average, ribeye was okay (steak was disappointing but the sauce was very good). Service was fantastic!
1st time for 4 cpls. Our sons had their Jr Cotillion Final Ball at Austin CC, so we decided to have dinner close by. I checked Yelp, Google, & Open Table for places near the country club. 3 popped up that we thought we'd be interested in. Because of the Variety, the menu, the reviews, & we didn't feel like the other 2, we chose 11 Plates.
The Ball was 6-10pm & I was able to get reservs for 8 of us at 7:30pm which was perfect & 11 Plates is right around the corner! It is on the 2nd floor, w/great views thru large windows facing the sunset & the hill country. If it was a bit warmer, we might've sat outside on the deck. Greeted by hostess, & we were seated w/in mins. It wasn't crowded, there is a nice atmosphere, not too loud, just right! Our waitress was friendly, professional, sweet, patient, & attentive.
Appetizers: Duck Confit Empanadas (none left!) Hummus w/Kalamata tapanade, pickled veg & Naan bread. Main: Lots of variety, & we all had to decide between 2-3 we wanted to try. D&I tried 2 specials: Mahi Mahi over basmati rice w/blk beans, asparagus, & Avo lime sauce. Good w/bit of spice! 12 oz prime rib & subbed fried Brussel Sprouts vs seasoned fries. At $35 for PR, it wasn't spectacular, but the BrSpts were Fantastic! 1 person tried Truffle fries which they served like Hopdoddy's, but were definitely not as good as HDs!
Everyone enjoyed their wine, beer & p/dinner coffee. Our waitress kept us filled up w/water, tea, drinks, & sometimes we didn't even notice she had filled us up! Friendly, professional bartender as well! Nice, welcoming, comfortable layout & atmosphere in which people could be dressed up or casual & still feel comfortable. Loved the wall of wine on the way around the corner to the hidden, but clean bathrooms. Prices were between $17-$35.
Overall: Nice Ambiance & great service, but the prices were a bit high for us since we are used to getting salad, bread, sides, etc w/our meal.
Eleven Plates and Wine - Austin, TX, United States
Other than the noise level, it's a gem. The kitchen is remarkably reliable. Consistently good. They'll adjust the dishes to your liking. Menu is updated regularly. I've never had a bad meal at Eleven Plates. And the bar is sweet. The wine selection more than decent. Priced nicely.
The food was very good. I really liked the fried brussel sprouts.
IT WAS JUST AWFUL. BEING A REGULAR USER OF OPEN TABLE AND HAVING MAJOR POINTS, I'D EXPECT A RESTAURANT TO FIGURE OUT IT MIGHT BE WORTHWHILE TO TRY AND MAKE US HAPPY.
THIS WAS OUR SECOND VISIT. ONCE AGAIN, WE WERE GIVEN ONE OF THE WORST TABLES IN THE PLACE, DESPITE OUR OPEN TABLE RESERVATION. IT TOOK AN HOUR TO GET OUR FOOD. IN THE MEANTIME, WE WERE BROUGHT THINGS WE DIDNT ORDER. AFTER TAKING OUR DESERT ORDER TWICE, WE WERE TOLD AFTER THE FACT THAT THEY WERE OUT OF THE ITEM WE HAD SELECTED.
THE CHAIRS WERE IN NEED OF REPAIR, THE FOOD WAS ONLY AVERAGE.
Eleven Plates offers consistently good food with attentive service. Wine selections are thoughtfully done and the restaurant holds occasional wine events. A place to return to again and again.
