Eleven Forty Nine Ratings and Reviews
It was a great atmosphere for a nice date night. The prices were good, service great and the noise level was really nice. There were others talking but it wasn't too loud. Our waitress even recommended a wine to go with my boyfriends entree choice which was really nice.
First time at 1149 on Valentines day for dinner, didn't disappoint! The drinks, food and service was very good. Wait staff was also very good. The menu isn't huge but definitely something for everyone. There was a loud party of four sitting nearby that was annoying but no fault of the restaurant. A little pricey but we expected that being an upper scale venue. Will certainly be going back on occasion, I hear that the Sunday brunch is second to none. Great job, thanks!
My mom has been a couple of times and liked it so we used restaurant week as an excuse to go for lunch. The ambiance is ok and there’s always this looping, funky music playing.
The service was friendly but the food was very disappointing this time. My mom loves chicken Marsala but the dish that was served had what tasted more like a sweet soy sauce. She mentioned it and they offered her an alternative which was nice.
For dessert we had the choice of a brownie Sunday or “funfetti” cake. As a millennial I loved the nostalgia of funfetti but the actual cake had a weird dry texture and was totally flavorless. My mom got be brownie but didn’t eat it cause it was hard as a rock. Really, you probably could have used that brownie as a brick to build a house.
We’d probably return as we’ve had positive experiences before but I’d recommend avoiding restaurant week as they clearly aren’t offering their best for the occasion.
We took our kids here to celebrate our son's 12th birthday. Everything was perfect! We were seated it a cozy booth with plenty of room, the waitstaff were all very professional and a delight to speak with, and the food was terrific! Our dinner of filet mignon was cooked to perfection. I absolutely will be going back here.
I went to the restaurant as part of Providence Restaurant week so I had a three course meal for around $16. There were enough choices that my friend and I could both choose an appetizer, entree and dessert that we liked. My entree of fish and chips was so large that I took some home for another meal.
I've been to 1149 before and always been satisfied.
Been to this restaurant many times however this lunch was not good. My mother-in-law was looking for the Haddick that they had always had for lunch was no longer served. The column Mari that we had as an appetizer was overcooked the crabcakes as an appetizer were mostly something very little crab. The entrées were fair, the desserts not very good. We had always had a very good experience at this restaurant and for the amount of money that they charge I get expected to be better than it was
We had a reservation so we were seated on time. The restaurant is very nice and the service was perfect. We had tickets to a show so when I told our server, she immediately got our check and we were right on time to the show.
The food, though, was excellent! We had the Providence Restaurant week special with the clam chowder and shrimp with linguine and the shrimp with linguine was sooo good. The shrimp was a bit spicy and the pasta almost a little sweet.
A most delicious meal!
We love 1149 for brunch and have recommended it to many of our friends. In fact, we are going with friends again next weekend (only because we already had the plans in place). But, wow! You guys were off your game last weekend. I ordered a shrimp omelette (my favorite). I was not told by the waiter that was no longer an option. Instead, another server, brought me an over cooked spinach omelette. In addition, they messed up my son’s omelette order too.
They charged us for our children under 6 years old.
The fish selection was microscopic baby shrimp stir fry.
Really, really bummed.
The brunch at 1149 has really gone downhill. A hot dog bar and what appeared to be chinese food have replaced items such as prime rib and pasta bar. The mimosas were 100% orange juice and our server/hostess tried to seat 7 adults and 2 children into what appeared to be a half booth and would accommodate 4-5 people. We will find somewhere else to spend that kind of money for brunch.
We live near 1149, but that is NOT the reason we go there. We love sitting in the bar for lunch, but this night we dined in the dining room....cozy table in a corner for us five, our children and grandson. Food, drinks, and very attentive server made our evening a huge success.
We love 1149. Our server was friendly and helpful. Our dinners were as described and delicious. We were able to take our time to enjoy our different meal courses without feeling like we needed to leave for the next patrons. My only complaint was that there were two large parties in the general seating area that were enjoying their celebrations loudly - made quiet conversation difficult. Wish they have been placed in a more party suitable area.
1149 continues to be excellent for food and service. Their food is delicious; I love taking people here for brunch. We enjoyed our meal thoroughly. I was also impressed by the staff yet again to see them block off a spot so a person in a wheelchair could easily have a table and move about the dining area, while also ensuring their waiter could get things for them for sake of ease while the foot traffic was busily moving about the food stations. They made it simple, didn't cause any commotion for the customer or other customers, and were sure to clearly communicate what way for those of us in the other room to get around to the food stations. That's class and professionalism I'd expect from 1149, let alone courtesy and great service.
Make sure to visit 1149 this holiday season and any other time you're in the area. You will not be disappointed.
I forgot how good brunch is! Haven't been in a while and was not disappointed! So many delicious choices, esp the fresly made eggs Benedict- sooo good! Service was top notch and our waiter, Randy, was very friendly and helpful. We will be back with friends!
