The restaurant week menu was superb. My husband loved his rich tasting braised veal, beef and Italian sausage with red wine and rigatoni mezzi Bolognese. My choice of entree was Short Ribs served with
sautéed roasted carrot + cauliflower, Swiss chard, and whipped potatoes - absolutely delectable. We each began with a salad. I liked his Caesar better than my Baby green salad although there was nothing wrong about it. We each had a different dessert: Vanilla Bean Cheesecake with Strawberry sauce and the flourless Chocolate Torte served with Chantilly cream & caramel sauce. Both were excellent. It was truly a great meal, especially since it was the special deal!
Restaurant Week Lunch
Though we've been to 1149 perhaps 30 times since it opened (highly recommend the Sunday Brunch, in particular), we didn't have special plans to go there the day that we did. Just so happened that we were doing errand in the area and noticed it was "Restaurant Week" with some lunch specials, so we dropped in. The Cesar salad was excellent as were the fries but my Chicken salad sandwich on a pita was, at best so-so and disappointing from their usual fine fare. My wife had soup, fries and a turkey sandwich which was humongous and she could barely eat half and had to take the rest home. She also thought the sandwich was so-so. Service, as usual, was excellent and the staff is always friendly. Bottom line, the food was a little disappointing but maybe my standards are so high from the many past experiences we've had.
I have been here several times. 2 times for Brunch and 1 time for Dinner. The brunch has gotten more expensive, yet they serve powdered eggs. I even order an Omelet which they brought to me. Very hot and fresh but again, powdered eggs. Brunch costs too much for powdered eggs. Make all egg orders, made to order and make all egg dishes with fresh eggs. That is my only complaint but it is enough to keep me from coming back.
We had a wonderful experience at Eleven Forty Nine. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. The quality and quantity of food is very reasonable for the menu prices. My tuna was grilled exactly as requested and other members of the party were equally thrilled with their dishes. My only slight negative is it is very noisy in some of the dining rooms, making it difficult to hear other members of your party. Overall, I would very much recommend Eleven Forty Nine to friends and family.
One of our family favorites to celebrate special occasions! Great cocktails, super food, great service! The occasion this time was our daughter's 10th birthday - she picked the spot! It was a great night out with super service and a tremendous variety of food to suit all our tastes - we had two 10-year-old girls, a 13-year-old boy, a vegetarian, and a die-hard meat lover -- and we were all satisfied! Naturally, we'll be back!
Maybe Sunday brunch is the reason to eat here. We had dinner there for the first time a couple nights ago and the food was terrible. Neither of our entrees had any flavor. How do you serve a ribeye or short rib that are flavorless? On top of that the short rib came with a medley of vegetables smothered in cheese. The other odd thing, our entrees came out barely five minutes after we ordered. The entire "dining" experience took less than 40 minutes including travel time.
Host and hostess were excellent as was our server.
At least we can cross this place off our go to list!
Love 1149 but we sat in an area where we were too close to other patrons.
Lovely brunch presentation with made to order omelet, although mine was not well cooked as I requested. Salad bar, which was actually an antipasto bar, was excellent. Prosciutto was cut a bit too thick for my liking, but the choices were abundant to create a fantastic salad. Pasta with lots of meats and vegetables made to order was good. A hummus bar looked very inviting but the stomach was filling up quickly. The buffet itself consisted of a variety of additional breakfast foods as well as dinner entrees such as chicken, and cod with a vegetable medley. The carving station included a beautiful ham as well as prime rib. A real eye-catching and mouth-watering dessert bar was fabulous with cheesecake; soft, chewy chocolate chip cookies; assorted small parfaits; mini tarts and so much more.
Decent meal. Thought scallops were a bit undercooked and swimming in oil/butter to the point that the waiter had to be extremely careful not to spill on me (thanks for being careful!). Butternut squash side delicious.
We found the staff friendly and helpful with our handicapped people. I thought the food was delicious ,but almost too generous. Both my husband and I took home enough food for another dinner. The Ladies room was clean and comfortable. The valet parking gentleman was extremely courteous and helpful. Altogether a most pleasant evening! Being so close to the Showcase theatre made it the perfect place to dine after the movies!
Although we were happy the restaurant was open on Christmas Eve, we were disappointed with some of the offerings. The buffet style was easy to navigate, and our server was very attentive. However, three of the selections were undercooked, and inedible. The green bean casserole, butternut squash & turnips, and the sausage stuffing, were raw. Neither was cooked thoroughly (or at all). Also, not having coffee available with dessert was inconvenient. The price point for this buffet is high. I will not be returning.
The prime rib was too red for me. The mac & cheese was dry. The salmon was decent. The desserts were good.
Sunday brunch December 23rd was fabulous. This was our first time dining here. It exceeded all of our expectations. Especially service, variety, quality and value. We certainly will return.
Don’t know what took us so long to visit Eleven 49.
They were out of 2 champagnes... small menu... not the best or nicest but good for a quick bite.
Fish dish too salty, tuna added onto salad was three tiny bites for an additional $12 and not tasty. Over priced for amount and quality. Sitting was uncomfortable, worn out cushion in booths.
Our visit was very disappointing. While the service was fabulous, both the food and value were less than stellar.
We ordered the cheese plate and for $20 the amount of cheese was meager.
We ordered a caesar salad and the lettuce was so bitter it was inedible.
One person in our party ordered a burger and it came in pieces on the plate. We had to assemble the entire thing.
Unfortunately I don't think I'll be back.
Food was excellent, as always. Service this time was not up to what we’ve come to expect here.
The food was less than moderate. The waffles were cold and soggy. My husband wanted the Egg Benedict when he asked for more sauce the sauce was freezing cold. The scrambled eggs were hard and so were the home fries. The desserts looked and were delicious. It seemed everything else was good. I don’t think I’ll be returning anytime soon. The server was excellent!
I chose 1149 for my husband's birthday dinner, just the two of us. The restaurant is sprawling with many different dining areas. I had asked for a quiet booth. We were seated in a very large banquette between dining areas. Good people watching but the location was odd. Our server and the team were very attentive and accommodating. The calamari app was good and had a generous mix of both rings and tentacles. I had the mussels frites and baked oysters app for my dinner. The mussels were large enough to be an entree. The light broth with cream was delicious. The frites were matchstick thin. The entire dish was finished with a light drizzle of hollendaise. Underneath it all, soaking up the broth, was a thick slice of sourdough, that by the time I got to it, was almost liquified. MIght have been a better idea to serve it on the side and let me dunk it into the broth. Six good-sized oysters were baked in the half-shell with savory cream and parmesan. My husband had the Prime Rib special with mashed potatoes and asparagus which he said was delicious. No dessert because we were full. We rated our dining experience at 1149 as an 8/10. I would come back as there is more I would like to try from the menu.
The service was exceptional. The food was delicious. Will definitely go there again, and recommend to friends.
It was just ok. Food was fair but a bit pricey. Not many people in the restaurant except two large parties. The decor is very nice. Menu is just fair nothing exceptional. We stuck around too long I guess because they turned the lights way up bright on us. Granted it was only 10pm. I won’t go running back.
About desserts...The baked Alaska was to die for. The cheese cake wasn't heavy and the tart had a cookie base that was perfect while the fruit on top was fresh and popped with flavor.
I go to Sunday brunch there occasionally for special events. Seems like it's not as good as it used to be and a little pricey. The service was good and they were accommodating. The meat at the carving station (prime rib, turkey breast) was a little dry. The rolls at the build your own sliders station and donuts with bacon were stale. No cream cheese with the smoked salmon. The food was just okay. Expected better for $32 per head.
I added salmon to the beet salad and it was fabulous. The salad was beautifully garnished with a good size grilled salmon. It was tasty, healthy and not overpriced. Congratulations to the chefs!
Just stopped in for a very early cocktail and bite to eat. Made our drinks perfectly and we decided to order the hummus platter. Huge for 2 people and so delicious! Grilled the pita bread and freshly made dips. highly recommend.
Almost didn’t order food because we were so full...but had a Greek salad that was delicious and husband had pizza. (Thin crust)
Very satisfied and can’t wait to go back.
Food is amazing Great service. Lovely atmosphere
Love Sunday brunch! So many options! Truly enjoy how the switch up chefs specials!
Raw bar order arrived before our drinks. A pity because had it not taken 15 minutes for the first round of 12 each cocktails we probably would have ordered a second. Waiter was inattentive, cocky, and downright rude. It takes a lot for my companion to allow me to tip 15% instead of 20 since she works in a restaurant herself but she made absolutely certain I only left 15%. My steak was way undercooked but it wasnt worth dealing with the hassle of sending it back. When my date asked for her meal to wrapped up the server had the audacity to tell her he'd do it when I was finished eating. I guess an extra trip to the kitchen was too much for our server. No less than a minute later a bus boy came and asked her very pleasantly if she would like her meal boxed up and he very nicely did so. The bus boy would obviously make a much better waiter.
Ambiance was nice, service, food, and prices were an overall disappointment. Will not return.
It’s a great place
The seafood risotto was delicious. Packed with seafood.
One of this town's places to go ... for lunch or dinner. This time, our seating was too close to someone who was unable to control/modulate his voice. We asked to move and were instantly accommodated w/o any problem. Enjoyed lunch with our out of stage guests very much!
I have to say the service was terrible. It was only her third day but she really was terrible. Mixed up the drink orders. Forgot my asparagus completely. Which I have to say a got a ribeye and could not believe I didn’t even get a vegetable with it. When the asparagus game it was not cooked properly. So tough. The meals were very tasty. Presentation was very nice. I would go again.
Anniversary Lunch. Took the wife to lunch for our anniversary (yes, I already had dinner reservations for the evening!). Usually go to 1149 for dinners or Sunday Brunch but decided to try lunch. Really liked the quiet atmosphere and the food, as always, was excellent. Service was great as well.
We met friends for dinner and even though we were seated in a booth near the kitchen, it was still very pleasant. While the menu couldn’t be called extensive, it did offer something for everyone with a good variety. The short ribs were amazing, the meatloaf was said to be delicious and the prime rib, a generous 14 oz, was cooked perfectly as ordered. The service was very good. At one point we had to flag down a waitress who was not ours because we had a dish break in the middle of eating the enormous ice cream sundae. She took care of the issue herself rather than just going to get our waitress. Very professional! We will definitely go back!
First time customer for Sunday Brunch, celebrating a birthday. They made the Birthday girl feel special. Food was amazing and the staff was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be back for more special occasions.
Eating at bar 9pm while they break down stations to go home can be a bit of an ambiance breaker. Spraying cleaning products all around us etc....
Food was amazing. Quality and quantity. Server Nicole was perfect. It was our first time and she made it special. Explained everything so we got the most out of our experience. We will be back for sure
