Eleven Eleven Mississippi Ratings and Reviews
We arrived a little early for our reservation but were still seated right away by cheerful staff, not bad for a busy Saturday night. I kid you not, every person who worked there had a smile on their face. Everyone was kind and welcoming and added to the fun of the evening. Our server was excellent, he knew his stuff and was very nice and attentive as well as knew about menu items, could make a suggestion, he had tried some of the dishes and could give feedback. Couldn’t of asked for a better dining experience. Ok so now for the food, it was AWESOME! My husband tried the rabbit and loved it, I stuck with the petit filet, also cooked perfectly. Everything was seasoned to be flavorful but not over powering, Temps we perfect on meats and sides. We also had sides of risotto and broccoli, both very good. My husband enjoyed the Old Fashion drink from the bar, it was well made and he liked it so much he had 3!!! Ha! This was a date night and while the noise level is probably louder on a Sat night, it was hard for him to hear me, I’m deaf so I didn’t have any problems I just read his lips ha ha but he said it was a little loud. We highly recommend 1111, and the neighborhood was charming and safe, we were comfortable parking, walking etc must check it out if you haven’t been yet!
This is the third time in the past year I have visited this restaurant, each time it has been very good to outstanding. If you go all out and dine alone as I did ordering a bowl of shrimp and corn chowder (appetizer) , rib eye steak (entrée) with a wonderful potato accompaniment, napoleon with decaf coffee (dessert) and a beer off tap, the tab did run with tax and tip $70, but worth every penny.
Service was professional and prompt.
I’ve been to great restaurants all over the country and in Europe, Eleven ranks with the best of them. I’m on a vegetarian diet right now. We had a mushroom Parmesan dish, the stuffed artichokes, the veg polenta, and the gnudi. All excellent. The house focaccia with carmelized onions and dipping oil was extremely good. The puglia red available by the glass was outstanding.
I have been a fan of Eleven Eleven since it opened and I was living on Hickory Street in Lafayette Square. While I haven't been back as often since moving out of the neighborhood, I look forward to going whenever I have a chance. Such was my disposition when I went in with a friend for my birthday on Tuesday evening. It's a restaurant I talk about often and wanted my friend to have a good experience, much like I've always had there. Unfortunately, we didn't have a very good experience: the server seemed distracted and was often unavailable, the entrees (both pasta dishes) came out somewhat tepid, and the Shrimp Linguine dish wasn't even edible. It seemed like the pasta in both dishes was overcooked, as if they'd sat too long under heat lamps before serving. The restaurant wasn't very crowded and it wasn't particularly late...I'm just very disappointed. I hope my next experience is better. It'd be a shame if such a great restaurant were to slip into mediocrity.
We dined here for my birthday with another couple. The waiter was fantastic. The menu was creative and the specials were interesting. We all ordered something different and everyone loved their choice. The eggplant parmigiana was great with a combination of crisp and soft texture. Portions were not skimpy. The pork shank was fall-off the bone delicious and huge. We lingered over after dinner cocktails and did not feel rushed at all. The drive from Chesterfield to the city was worth it. We did not use the private dining room, but will keep it in mind for a special occasion because it looked lovely.
Lovely restaurant, friendly staff.
Kitchen disappointing. Special salad not very special, spinach a bit tired, . Rabbit tender and moist but not seasoned, green peppercorn sauce bland with odd, thick texture as if too much flour was used to thicken. Side vegetables (carrots and peas and fennel) were al dente, odd for a braised dish which usually offers soft, caramelized, unctuous veggies. Even beans in special soup (brisket) were al dente, forgivable since broth was tasty.
Everything was great from the start. We had a very attentive server and the bread and olive oil parmesan cheese mix was good. The kale salad and spinach salads are always wonderful. The boar ravioli was an excellent starter as suggested by our server. My husband had the pork chop and I had the salmon. Our other guests were equally impressed with their selections.
A great night out!
Me and my husband came to this restaurant to celebrate my birthday. We are from Wichita, KS and visited the zoo earlier in the day and made reservations for this restaurant for the evening. I was disappointed by the cramped seating. I felt like I was eating in a cafeteria whose tables were too close together and I was immediately uncomfortable because the guy to my right was way too noisy and the couple to my life kept giving me the side eye. I prefer to have elbow room when I'm eating and a little privacy. I really didn't feel that I got either here. I guess this restaurant wants to cram as many people as possible into it in order to make more money, but it didn't make me comfortable having to squeeze into and out of my seat (and I'm not a huge person). Probably wouldn't go here again if I was in the city unless I could make sure I got a proper table far from the maddening crowd.
The restaurant is a bit eclectic as it once was a shoe factory. But the renovation is very creative not to mention the food! A very enjoyable experience with a wide range of generations dining there.
The poached pear & fig flatbread was wonderful. My wife had the braised pork hind shank. I enjoyed the Char Crust Dry Rubbed Ribeye. They both were very tasty and melted in your mouth!
Incredible food and service! Calamari and sauce is fantastic- light breading, delicate. Char grilled steak is best steak flavor I've ever had; potato side is amazing. Don't miss the wild boar ravioli- again, incredible flavor! Waitstaff is always right there, but never intrusive. Our water glasses were always full, without ever asking. Can hardly wait to go back!
Great restaurant with very friendly, attentive and informed staff. Chef's Specials are interesting, this weekend was a wild boar that was amazing. Definitely worth the drive from Southern Illinois (100 miles). If you are in the area it is a MUST stop in my opinion. We will be back next time we are in town!
