The food was good, but the service has been better. It was busy, and there only seemed to be one server waiting on all tables. The food took much longer than expected, and we had trouble actually getting to talk to the server -- we would've ordered more wine, or potentially desserts, if only he came to our table.
Love it! Would go there all the time
The food portion for the spinach ravioli and ziti and broccoli were quite small. Did not care for the “white sauce”. There was no cream. It was just chicken broth. We did like the arugula salad and the chicken sorentino. Will not be returning
We arrived on-time for our Sunday evening reservation and then waited over an hour for our food. When we asked the owner of the restaurant (who was checking on tables) whether we could expect to be served soon, he said they were overwhelmed with a party of 10 at a large table in the center of the restaurant. There were only 2 other tables of diners in the restaurant. Our food then came out one entrée at a time so that we all began eating dinner at different times. The food was mediocre at best. Given that it was nearly 10pm and we had arrived at 7:30, we ate and left.
Service was extremely slow. There were no place settings or utensils when the food arrived, approximately one hour after we ordered our food.
Very unpleasant. We were the only ones in there for lunch at 1PM and the service was not good. The worst thing was that when we questioned the bill ($56 for a pizza, a coke, 2 salads and one burger) the server (owner) got furious and started yelling at us. I was shocked and saddened by this. The fellow must have some problems to treat customers like this.
Took my sister and her kids their for her birthday. As usual, the food was great and we were treated like family. Vinnie and his staff are simply the greatest! Check out Guac, his other restaurant.
This may have been a 4 rating eons ago because now it's a -4. Skip this place. Save your money and eat at home--I recommend a jar of Rao's sauce, which is a definite 5.
Pizza was great as was the service. Owner was personable and having a good time. Also, good glass of wine. Worth the trip.
The owners make you feel like you are at their home. The food tastes like their mom made it. The room is very warm & inviting with the fireplace as the focal point. We will definitely return again& again.
Classic Village decor. Love the fire place & old NY style bar. But the best is the home made Italian food & our friendly server Rocco. Classic Italian as well telling us life stories in a passionate & hilarious way, while multi tasking with the rest of the customers while getting our order perfect.
It's dinner & a show. We'll be back!
Very nice owner, great place. Been there 2 times, will be back
We went to Eleven B for a low key dinner before going out in the East Village. The food was excellent and the service was great! A few of us ordered the salads and were very impressed. We also loved that it is BYOB. Will definitely be returning.
If you are in the mood for red sauce Italian cooking then this East Village eatery may be an option. Pizza, pasta, salads -- simple, but nothing special here.
Walking in the restaurant, the smell of cooking was heavenly. The portions are great at an excellent price, will definitely return.
I don't review restaurants that frequently, but my experience here was so poor that I felt obligated to leave one. Management, if you are reading this, please use these comments constructively.
I came here on my birthday for a dinner with 3 friends. Father service we received was some of the worst I have ever experienced. It took more than 30 minutes after ordering for the waiter to bring us bread and another 30 minutes for our entrees. One hour between ordering and food? Absolutely unacceptable. Maybe if the restaurant was packed, but it was at maybe 50-75% of capacity.
The food itself was okay- not great, not horrible. I had to add quite a bit of seasoning to my chicken Marsala to give it flavor.
After finishing our meals, we sat waiting for the waiter for about 15 minutes. The last time he had even come near our table was when he dropped of our entrees. Finally, I got up to go to the bar to ask for our check. The man (I'm guessing it might be the owner?) didn't even seem phased that we had to get up to seek out our waiter. Another 5 minutes passes and finally our waiter comes by with the check. No apology or acknowledgment of the poor service. Utterly disappointing experience.
Ambiance is nice. Food is okay. But the service is awful.
Walked in around 7 o'clock and nobody else was there, though it did start to fill slightly as the night went on.
Service was good, though it should be as the only people there. The food was very average, nothing special. If you live in the East Village it might be worth stopping by, but don't make it a destination.
I have yet to have a bad experience here, this place is perfect for larger groups and always provides great service. The main guy in the restaurant, I want to say his name was Vincent, was very kind and accommodating to our group who wanted to try a little of everything. He helped to recommend dishes as well as cut up larger ones so we can all try the food. The lasagne and chicken parm are really good dishes, but their pizza is always simple and delicious. On top of the great food and service, this place is BYO and all the prices are extremely reasonable- wins all around! I would def recommend this to anyone looking for a nice spot in ABC City...or anyone just looking for a nice meal.
If you're planning to head here solo, I would try to call to reserve a table. As they generally cater to larger groups, it can be hard to get smaller tables.
friendly staff, excellent italian family style food, reasonable prices. no complaints!
Incredible food - the spinach + apple salad, baked ziti and white pizza are all unreal. Also this place is BYO with a very reasonable corking fee! Whats not to love?
The staff was so friendly and helpful! The food was delicious and it wasn't crowded at all for a Friday night. I will be going back again just because the waiter and bartender were so accommodating and treated us wonderfully.
It was a pleasant surprise since it as my first time there. The menu is simple. The quality of the food is fresh. It is also plentiful. My companion and I discovered that if we had ordered an appetizer that we would have had much too much food to eat. The chicken parmiagana plate is excellent. Also, the side dishes are large enough to feed two. Prices are very good. We will be going back.
We really enjoyed the dinner here - with the wide open doors it felt like outside dining - in the comfort of indoors. In fact the mosquitoes were a bit of an issue - so it really was outdoor dining! The ambiance was wonderful, relaxed, nicely furnished, and very pleasing. My only caveat was the food. It was pretty indifferent - but we did not have the pizza - that might be a different story. The desserts were not homemade, and the sauces lacked flavor. The main dishes were decent. Despite that I would definitely go again - for the look, feel, and spaciousness of the restaurant and the caring attention of the staff. We had a great evening with one another in a delightful space - food? Ah the food of our thoughts sustained us!
From the moment we arrived the Owner and staff could not have been more rude. They came up to us several times telling us what time they needed us out and at one point came over and said "you need to go now". The owner and staff were also yelling across the restaurant as we ate. I will never return to this restaurant. There are so many wonderful restaurants in NY, there is no reason to be treated the way Eleven B treated us. The food was fair but definitely not worth the service.
The food here is great and very resonably priced. Will go back many more times in the future. Go here!
