Elevation, a student operated restaurant at Cascade Culinary Institute (CCI), uniquely engages community diners as an integral part of the student learning experience. The Elevation menu, which changes four times per year, boasts of high quality ingredients that are sourced from regional growers, ranchers and producers. Patrons who dine in a "live classroom environment," are provided with an opportunity to offer feedback via a survey at the conclusion of the dining experience. Guest input is then integrated into the instructional process on a weekly basis in order to enhance the student learning process. As part of the CCI Capstone Course, learning outcomes within Elevation associate with students developing confidence in cooking and service techniques and developing effective communication and teamwork skills prior to their transition into the regional hospitality industry workforce as future leaders and innovators.

Food and service was good, we selected Elevation because the place is quiet. And then the piano player began next to us and fairly loud. Music ran us out so we could continue our conversation.

My wife and I have dined at Elevation many times over the years. The experience is always marvelous. Student table service is friendly and welcoming. The food is consistently creative, well prepared and very tasty -- truly high level cuisine. For either lunch or dinner, Elevation is always a joy -- a genuine dining jewel in Bend.

Thank you for a very delicious and generous lunch on Valentine's Day. We appreciated the tiny bite to begin (not ordered -- just brought along with bread). We took containers home to finish later! The fish and chips were especially good and cooked perfectly. We'll be back!

We had a wonderful lunch at Elevation which is the restaurant at the Cascade Culinary Institute. It is a teaching restaurant where students not only prepare the meals, but they also learn the art of restaurant service. The restaurant is only open for lunch on Thursdays and Fridays for the winter term. The menu changes every 2 weeks. The food and service was outstanding. We will definitely be returning for another wonderful dining experience.

This is always a first-reat experience for us and our friends.

The food is tasty and clearly well prepared, the hosts/hostesses are friendly and courteous, the atmosphere is comfortable . . . there is just no downside to the experience of dining at Elevation.

The students, regardless of duties at the restaurant, are courteous, professional, and friendly.

Went for lunch. Brief menu but delicious. We three swapped tastes and enjoyed all. Beverages were lovely too. Enjoyed learning how servers are taught...learned a few things ourselves for hosting dinners at home! Looking forward to more lunches and hopefully dinners too once the new semester starts.

How can you beat a lovely lunch hand-made by culinary arts students in a beautiful restaurant? The freshly-made pasta was incredible! I was surprised there weren't more locals taking advantage of such a gem. Absolutely fabulous to taste the students' creations!

Culinary school restaurant staffed by the students. Excellent lunch menu that changes every couple of weeks. The meal rivals and in some cases, surpasses those I've had at very high end places. The cost of the lunch I had (3 course meal) was $10. Any tips go to the student fund, so don't be cheap. When we were done, we were given a tour of the institute by the professor. Very impressive school.

As serious foodies, my wife and I have been to Elevation several times for both lunch and dinner. For many locals, the restaurant is an undiscovered jewel -- excellent food, friendly service, comfortable setting, and a great value, especially for the fine quality cuisine. Highly recommended for a special occasion or just a lovely meal out. Elevation is one of Bend's better and more consistent restaurants.

Our Waitress, Shannon was fantastic, very knowledgeable, one of the best wait staff I have had in a restaurant. The ambiance was very intimate and the diners were treated to a small but classy menu. I ordered the surf and turf and the meal was served beautifully and was very tasty. It was my Birthday and my wife's Birthday was in 7 days and being Gemini's we clicked with Shannon as she is also a Gemini. It made some good banter. Gail had the soup and the scallops which she raved about. Our dessert was fantastic and complementary due to our joint birthday. Central Oregon Community College did itself proud by having this venue to show off the culinary school and the talent it graduates.

We were pleased with the creative dishes offered and the personal nature of the service—this is, after all, where students train to elevate their cooking and restaurant management skills, which means that, for their performance, the customer is the ultimate judge. Customer comments are not dismissed, but taken seriously. Both sides are invested in making this a positive experience. The friendly atmosphere reflects this, where conversation is never loud but never hushed. And, on Wednesday, there is no corkage fee, which allows fine dining at a reasonable price. We have eaten here before, but not recently, and we were surprised by how much both the food and service have improved since then. Elevation has come to richly deserve its name!

The staff were very accommodating to food allergies & the desserts were perfectly sized & delicious! Duck confit was perfection. Scallops & salmon were cooked perfectly but could have used a bit more heat to get a nice sear. Artisanal breads & compound butter were perfection!

Another great meal! Every time we dine at Elevation, we're not disappointed! Their attention to detail, their plating, their customer service -- all outstanding! For students, they truly pull off great meals! I really appreciate the increased number of entree options they offered this Spring. And, everyone at the table was extremely satisfied. How do we keep this place a secret?!?!?! (Just kidding.) We love it!!!

We always enjoy coming to Elevation - especially toward the end of the semester! This time the 4 of us each got something different and all of the dishes were wonderful. I love the enthusiasm of the students who are just embarking on their dreams. I wish there were a way to find out where the students who cooked for me or served me in past semesters were working now -- I'd love to patronize their restaurants. And I'd go wherever Isaac, who made the pasta dish this week, was cooking!

Aside from the limited nights they serve dinner—it’s run by the culinary school and its students—I was very pleasantly surprised by how good everything was. It’s in a beautiful wooded setting, a little hard to find, and the building is modern and sleek. The restaurant entrance is around back. I loved the decor and the huge, see-through fireplace. The dinner menu is interesting and as haute cuisine as any celebrated fancy restaurant I’ve been to in Bend. The French onion soup was delicious and the duck breast was really done nicely, if not a touch over cooked. I ordered my duck breast medium rare and it came out with just a hint of pink. It is run by students, after all, and it was delicious so I didn’t send it back. The dessert creme brûlée was also very nice. I didn’t delve too far into the wine list but Elevation had a wine by the glass I was familiar with so I ordered that. Overall, it was a very pleasant surprise and experience and reasonably priced. I’m already making plans to go back for a friend’s birthday dinner.
