Elements Ratings and Reviews
This was our 4th dinner at Elements and did not meet our expectations, but was still quite good. There was not the usual special fish selection, which in the past has been excellent. The prawns were over dressed with sauce, and not as flavorful as past offerings. The service was average if not surly. We will go back for another diner, and hope they are back to their usual excellence.
Elements is a semi casual restaurant with an unusual menu. They offer an Asian fusion style menu chock full of unexpected flavors nicely presented in a high style. The staff is attentive yet not overbearing. My most recent visit was Valentines day and it was a pleasant experience. I previously arranged a dinner for extended family in honor of my mother's 90th birthday. It was a huge hit with the entire family and many complimented me on the the whole event. The staff was efficient, accommodating and really helpful during the entire affair. I highly recommend this restaurant for a romantic occasion, events or a casual night out with great food. There are options for all tastes and everything is prepared with care, talent and skill. This isn't the cheapest venue in Chapel Hill but it is good value and a wonderful taste experience.
The food was really quite excellent and my wife loved her wine. We picked a night when there was a sudden problem with heat, which could not be fixed by our visit, so the overall rating is perhaps unfairly decreased a bit. Service was great and they accommodated our desire to split a small plate and a main dish very amenably. Nice serving touches, such as heated Benedictine and brandy. Worth the extra cost.
Elements met every check box on our dining "must haves" list! It was highly recommended by some recent transplants from that ehhh unique state of California. Our reservations were at 6:00 and we seated promptly even though we arrived a bit early.
Wait staff attentive but not pushy. Cocktails were created and served as they were meant to be.
Can't say enough about the presentation of the entrees and the size of the portions!
Food was excellent and paired well with the sides and sauces. Prawns, Chicken and Specials were heavenly!
The negatives...very loud by end of dinner. It was very hard to have a normal conversation with friends so we left a bit earlier than we usually do and had drinks at another establishment.
We will continue to frequent Elements hoping that the noise issue was an outlier.
My favorite restaurant in the Triangle. Awesome food and service! The homemade rolls are out of this world, the sushi is great and you can’t go wrong with any of the small or large plates. I had the halibut special, my wife had the diablo chicken (and I had it again as leftovers the next day) and my daughter had the filet cubes (I don’t recall the name of the Asian dish but she loved it!).
Also, the Elementinis were very tasty!
I highly recommend Elements. You won’t be disappointed.
Lovely staff, wonderful atmosphere, and for the price the experience was well worth it. Not to mention the food was just spectacular. A friend of mine who has never enjoyed sushi could barely speak after trying a roll. Highly recommend. Especially for a date.
The best restaurant in Chapel Hill. The waits are attentive, knowledgeable about the food and helpful when trying to make a decision as to which superb item to try. And the food is creative and incredibly wonderful. If you want to impress someone, this is the place to take them.
We five friends were pleased to be seated in the Sky Box, which afforded a fairly quiet retreat with some natural light where we were able to relax, talk, and enjoy a good meal. The food was presented well, the service was competent and unobtrusive, and the ingredients and food prep were above the norm.
James our server was very attentive and had good working knowledge with wine which is important for me. We brought a bottle of our own which was taken care of very well, and also ordered one from the very good wine list.
Food here is nice fusion of traditional Asian dishes from several countries, all prepared beautifully. Lamb chops are a particular favorite and specialty.
The wine room is great for large groups. One of my favorites in chapel hill area.
The food, the food!! We couldn't decide so we ate our body weight in food! What we liked best? It's a family affair. The daughter, Van, was lovely - just as lovely as her mom. She took so much time to tell us about her restaurant, cuisine, family culture. We felt so welcome. (Traveling on business.) Highly recommend. Fresh, clean, authentic, just amazing. BUT it IS a tad on the "high energy" side. No carpet (from what I recall) so a bit noisy. Not cozy and quiet. We'll be back!
A friend and I had dinner at Elements on a Wednesday night. Parking can be challenging in East 54. However, once we were settled in at Elements, we were happy we made the effort. We had the tempura asparagus and grilled cauliflower for appetizers; they were both delicious. My friend had the Saigon Noodles for her entree, which she said were great. I had the Seafood Japchae, which was also great. Neither of us could finish our entrees. Even so, we somehow found room for dessert. We shared the Molten Lava Cake, which was well-worth waiting for. The atmosphere is very pleasant. We will definitely be returning to Elements.
Our group of five is always looking for a new place to celebrate our birthdays and decided to return to Elements for a second time because the experience was so positive the first time. Our waiter, Matthew Scott, was also our waiter the first time and he was as perfect as on our initial visit. We were not disappointed on any level and look forward to another visit soon.
Really excellent service and creative, very well presented dishes made this an excellent dining experience. Very good advice on the wine. Quality scotch and bourbon selections available but not a lengthy selection. The dining environment was very comfortable with fresh flowers on the table.
Food was outstanding in a comfortable atmosphere. Dishes were flavorful and sized well- not too heavy but plenty. Creative combinations of Asian fusion. Presentation was extremely well done. Service was outstanding and food arrived quickly. Trust their wine recommendations! Looking forward to returning. Worth the drive from Raleigh and easy parking.
We have enjoyed meals at Elements a number of times in the past, but New Years Eve dinner was disappointing. Oysters just covered in a cheese sauce, lobster salad was good, seafood and beef entree over cooked and dry. We waited over 20 minutes for a "hot" chocolate molten pudding only to receive a room temperature over cooked cake with powered sugar on top. I had the wine pairing and the wines were poorly selected and matched. Over all a real let down for a $180 dinner (plus tax and tip).
The wait for our reservation was over 30 mins. Way too long. Then it was another 45 mins. Before our drink order was taken. Our waitperson was very nice but had too many tables to take care of. Once our orders were placed, the food came reasonably quickly and was very good. They seemed to be unprepared for a New Year’s Eve crowd.
