Elements Ratings and Reviews
superlative service, imaginative menu but execution was disappointing. Salmon in pastry was over cooked and looked a little lost on the large plate without accompaniments. Bread rolls are beautiful to look at but much too sweet. the seafood dish looked messy and all I could taste was soy sauce, altogether disappointing as we had heard rave reviews and it was a special occasion.
Currently my favorite restaurant in Chapel Hill. Creative menu, fitting for the season. Roasted cauliflower with quinoa and cranberries is absolutely fantastic as are their lamb chops. Wine list is excellent (also decent selection of open wines if you just want a glass). If you are a sushi fan, make sure you come on a sushi night (sushi not available all nights to guarantee freshness). Menu is very creative whether you decide to have a main or several small plates. Super friendly and helpful waitstaff.
As always, Elements is our favorite restaurant in Chapel Hill. It is excellent for every day dining or special events like anniversaries.
Your staff is always friendly and really knows and explains the different courses that are available.
As always, thank you, Rick Every
The food was awesome and the service was top-drawer. Any entree on the menu can be adapted to meet the wishes of the customers. On the down side, the noise level was high and there was little structure to absorb sound. Otherwise the decor was comfortably modern and easy on the eyes.
We have always liked Elements, especially the food, and the restaurant has been at the top of our Chapel Hill favorites... but the ambiance during our last visit was uncomfortable. Bright lights, lots of noise where it was difficult to converse, along with formica tables, made us feel we were eating in a large college cafeteria. Perhaps if they put on table cloths and lowered the lights it could be better. And maybe put large tables in one room and smaller ones in the other. I would hesitate returning, especially in the evening. Too bad.
We had a lovely meal at Elements. The food was creative and beautifully presented. Two notable comments. On the plus side, our waitress was outstanding in determining the hot pepper aspects of the dishes selected; one of our group has demanding and specific requirements concerning hot pepper levels and our waitress coped thoroughly and pleasantly with these demands. On the minus side, our drinks took a very long time to arrive -- and we had to ask for them a few times.
Overall, it was a terrific dinner and I'd happily go back.
Food was amazing! Our first time there. Great wine selections. Wait staff advised my date to order more food than was necessary. We left a lot behind because we couldn’t finish. But food was good and service was excellent other than the advice to order more. Would definitely recommend!
Exceptional in every way! Our server was knowledgable and friendly – from her wine recommendation to dessert, she took the time to ask us questions and personalize our service. The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere was upscale but still warm and inviting. This is our new favorite restaurant in Chapel Hill, and we will definitely be returning soon.
This restaurant is way too close to our home to have only just experienced its beauty. This place makes me feel foolish for not trying it sooner, it is amazing! Best fresh tuna sushi I have had in the triangle. Both the noodle dish and seafood hot pot were perfect. We will back as often as we can, go.
Really good eclectic mix of "asian fusion" food that retained the taste of their asian inspiration, but combined with a modern take on the dishes. Our impressive journey started from the bread basket (featuring perfectly fried mantou(s) ), to a fresh bowl of chirashi, sautéed black pepper fillet mignon, and sushi rolls, to the mochi dessert. My parents, who were visiting me from Singapore, were totally impressed, and declared it one of their best meals in Durham.
Best meal we have ever had in Chapel Hill. The service was seamless & unobtrusive, presentation was beautiful, and food was amazing. We shared two apps, two entrees, and a dessert. Walnut prawns were to die for, & salmon melted in the mouth. Elements will be our go- to restaurant when we visit our kids @ UNC from now on.
The calamari is always very crispy and tender, pairing well with the hidden arugula slaw with crunchy peanuts. The summer rolls and peanut sauce were light and refreshing. (Don't forget to ask for the sensational fried buns and sliced bread!) We were very happy with the delicate bottle of White Burgundy that our very friendly and attentive server recommended. The on-special Vietnamese-style flounder was very filling; I wish I could say there were any leftovers, but it was too good not to finish. The walnut prawns were perfect, as well as the juicy lamb chops and artistically presented white-dragon sushi roll. We will return as often as Chef Michael and the staff will allow us!
