elements at Sanctuary Camelback Mountain Ratings and Reviews
The food was fantastic and the service was very good; however, this is the second time( and last) that is have taken my wife here for a romantic special occasion only to be seated near folks that were very loud and drinking heavily! Disruptive to the entire area but no one suggested the people quiet down. If I wanted to take my wife to a noisy sports bar I wouldn’t pay Over $200 for a dinner for two
I will NOT go back to this restaurant because of these last two experiences- you want your wife to say how lovely the evening was rather than let’s go I have had enough of these loud people
2nd time here and we thought it would be as pleasant as the first time.
Well. I was wrong.
Service was slow
And let me tell you, it tasted like an ordinary student trainee from a School of cooking was preparing the food.
Calamari was ordinary like the one at any long horn o Chilis. Nothing special.
My partner asked for the eggplant rolls. No taste at all. Simple and tasteless.
Since there was no plate I was eager to try on the very basic menu, I had the special. New York Steak with potatoes and lobster knuckles ? Too much for a plate. Meat was super dry. The hollandeise sauce was just a little bit already dried on top of the meat. No flavor. What’s going on. ? Was the chef on vacation ? Or was he depressed?
Only good thing was the company, wine , and the hot chocolate.
I will avoid this expensive and tasteless restaurant.
Best to keep going to Capital Grilled , Ocean Club
Wonderful new year's brunch overlooking Mummy Mountain and Paradise Valley-the ambiance was stunning, the service very welcoming and the cuisine was delicious--many gluten free and vegetarian options in addition to the sumptuous regular menu items. Special treat was the delectable, complimentary cinnamon rolls and raspberries; highly recommend!
Food was horrible, foie gras so dry it had a crust, $55.pasta with lobster, what little lobster in it was chewey. Waiter made two errors on the check. And I had to wait for the one handicap toilet while a staff manager used the restroom. He was not handicapped. It was Christmas Eve but we ate early. I should have complained at the time but somehow never want to be difficult. Will not return.
We met two friends for conversation and had a satisfactory meal in a beautiful setting. The reception and wait staff were friendly and efficient. One of us had the farro bowl for the lunch and it was creatively conceived and delicious. Excellent for healthful dining. Two of us were not as happy with the salmon frittata. The ingredients were fresh and tasty, but the eggs were overcooked and so the overall frittata was not fluffy and creamy, but fairly rigid. So we give high marks for the ambiance and the service, but no better than middling for the food. We had high expectations because of Bo McMillan's reputation, so we were somewhat disappointed.
Not my first time dining here but everything seemed flawless for our date night : ushered to a romantic semi circular booth table which looks out to the views of camelback mountain , excellent service by server Michael, delicious scallop special as well as oyster appetizer. We both ordered caymas 2015 by the glass which was chilled perfectly...my husband is a foodie at heart and had arguably the best short rib entree ever....its one of my favorite places especially during the holidays but you can't go wrong here whether it's a special occasion, date night , group gathering or cocktails in the bar....truly exceptional.
It was the perfect lunch place to celebrate Birthdays and exchange Christmas gifts for our lively group of senior dance girlfriends. The service was outstanding, the food delectable and the view was amazing!! The valet even helped us carry our gifts in! It had been a long time since I’d been there but I’ll remember it again for a special occasion in the near future.
Traveling from the Southeast US, this was our first visit to Elements, recommended by concierge at hotel. This was the finest restaurant experience for us in many years, maybe ever. The hostess and the two servers called us by name, and it just went upwards from there. Incredible view, service, ambience and food. We have already planned to return on our next trip to Scottsdale.
We had a wonderful meal at Elements during a recent stay in Scottsdale area. Our server started the excellent experience--he was friendly, polite, and knowledgeable about the menu/food--provided great service. Our night view overlooking the pool & with a distant view of the mountains/twinkling Scottsdale lights was really nice out on the deck area & so peaceful on this particular night. The hoisin braised short ribs especially were divine--so yummy! We also loved the calamari appetizer. Great wine list too. Overall, a lovely dining experience!
