El Vez Ratings and Reviews
Nice meal. I had the Carne Asada and my wife and daughter split a taco sampler. Goof value for the money. Recommend the street corn as well as the creamed corn that came with the Carne Asada. Pretty good value. I would say this place is close to on par with the better NYC Mexican places that I frequent
My boyfriend and I wanted a sweet date night just to celebrate us. It was great. The food is delicious and the drinks are really good. The Indian rojo guac is delicious. And the blackberry capirihna are amazing! Love the vibe and dim but nice ambience of the place. Plus the photo booth adds to the fun.
It had been years since visiting El Vez and it was just as good. The staff worked well as a team. The menu was limited in a special way more than enough options and the authentic flavors coupled with a good price made it a very enjoyable evening. Also it's closeness to the Kimmel and theaters make it a good pre event dinner venue.
I went to El Vez during restaurant week. It was my first time. The 4 courses for $35 is a really good deal. The noise level was kind of high would be one of the drawbacks maybe because of my location, seated at the window which was ideal for watching foot traffic but not for hearing my boyfriend's conversation. Pretty good selections for each course.
It's not easy finding an authentic, really good Mexican meal. El Vez fits this description. We did the Restaurant Week special meal was great. However, we need to go back and try many other of their selections. Even the Nacho's looked great! Our waiter was also wonderful!
I am never disapointed with a trip to El Vez. Was taking friends out in the city to explore and brought them into El Vez to get the experience. All of the drinks were delicious and timely, appetizers perfectly spaced between drinks and dinner. The best thing about El Vez is the flavor, all the recipes are solid recipes that taste fantastic and aren't too heavy. Ordered the chocolate Mole Short Rib Enchilladas and i am still dreaming about them they were absolutely delicious!
Very tasty and great service (as expected at a Starr Restaurant). Loved the black bean enchiladas and my husband really enjoyed the taco sampler. Portions are not overwhelming so you'll have rooms for apps or dessert. We went the dessert route and tore into the excellent churros.
Moderate prices and well-prepared food.
Atmosphere is usually exciting here; always filled with a ton of people. I've been here many, many times. A lot of my friends from Jefferson love this place for its margaritas. Definitely has a nice energy for a special night out, which was what this was for my party. However, the servers are very slow and expectant. Bartenders are even worse. Food is good, but not incredible as would be expected from the price. Portion sizes aren't that great either. I would come again, but it's nothing to rave about.
The waiter was wonderful. The music was a little loud for family conversation, but the food was delicious and my family and I all had a wonderful time. For a Sunday evening, we also saw a lot of other families with young children, so El Vez manages to be a good, upscale-style restaurant yet be family friendly at the same time.
