    Great dinner at El Vez on a weekend trip to Philadelphia. We had trouble finding parking (found a garage on Sansom, eventually) and were late for our reservation. Both the hostesses and wait staff were very accommodating and we enjoyed a delicious dinner with excellent Margaritas! We did call ahead when we were running so late - and very much appreciate we were still able to be seated.

    We came and sat at the bar. Just got a couple blood orange margaritas and chips and guac to share and it was a great time. They even gave us extra chips when asked to finish off the salsa.

    I've been to El Vez before and the first time was an okay experience and the second time I've been for a friends birthday was really good. I was hoping to get amazing service and recommendations as i once did but my server was not attentive and a bit weird when I came to her about drink recommendations. She seemer very off and maybe new. I tried to give the food a chance but it wasnt as good as i remembered. The server tried to upcharge and give us chicken when i asked for reg nacho mamas, no protein. Chicken came out dry and i had to pick around it. The drinks were too strong and i asked for a marg but got tequila with a bit of flavoring. The taco platter i was hoping to recover last nights experience was the cherry on top. It was soggy and not as flavorful as i remembered. I was hoping for really good food which i had once before but it honestly was not worth the money AT ALL. Will NOT be coming again on a saturday night for a reservation. The server also didnt mention her name which I felt was on her and she didnt wanna get in trouble. Was not a good dinner experience at all last night. SMH el vez please do better.

    Everything was fine, although the waiter forgot some things I don't blame him because the place was full that day, what I would like to highlight is the air conditioning was hardly working at the front tables, inside it felt hot which was not good in the middle of summer.

    Excellent environment for a family gathering. Wait staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was excellent and the value is terrific. I highly recommend.
