El Vez New York
Casual yet contemporary, El Vez celebrates the festive soul of Mexican and Mexican-American culture, a true south-of-the-border spirit that manifests itself in the restaurant’s attitude and atmosphere. The breathtaking space is a feast for the eyes with imaginatively designed dining areas, a large bar outfitted with a photobooth, a wrap-around landscaped patio for dining al fresco and a burrito bar for food on the go.
With deep roots in regional Mexican cooking, the menu is built around guacamoles, fundidos, ceviches, tacos, quesadillas and enchiladas made from scratch with authenticity in mind. Meanwhile, the bar offers a large selection of creative cocktails, signature margaritas and staggering selection of 150 mezcals and tequilas.
Good Mexican food and the service was great!
Great atmosphere with delicious food. This is a perfect place to take a date, family, and friends. Overall great experience.
Great service - very accommodating of our family including two young kids.
Feedback - we love the vibe and food! But we sat in the back area which holds parties and heating is very poor
Solid Mexican food in a big restaurant space. Came for a team lunch and it was a perfect spot.
Have lived in this area for over a year and just discovered this gem! Delicious food, friendly service, fun vibe. Highly recommend!
Very basic mexican. Salsa and guacamole were lifeless. Drinks were good. Wouldnt go back though
It was unfortunate we had a table smack in the middle of heavy traffic. It was not comfortable for myself or clients.
Small spoons should come with taco condiments to share.
There was plenty of staff on hand for the lunch crowd. The service and food was average.. not above and beyond.
Food is always exceptional as are the margaritas! Wait staff friendly and helpful when ordering.
Very good food in a fun atmosphere. It might have even been my favorite meal while we were there.
Went to El Vez to meet up with an old colleague from Wisconsin and the restaurant was perfect. Great space size and waiter took very good care of us. Gave great sharing recommendations and food was excellent. Everyone was very happy and glad I recommended this as our meeting spot.
We were very happy that they were so accommodating as we brought our 17 month old with us. They had a great children’s menu, and he happily coloured in with the crayons and art they gave him. Yummy food and great service. We loved it before anyway, but it is still great!
Our waitress ignored that we had a special occasion ( I told her twice that my friend had a birthday on that day). Food and drinks were great.
Fun neighborhood restaurant. Food good service good but you have to go early to avoid the noise. One of the noisiest restaurants in New York City. Get in between five and 530 and everything is fine.
Energetic is very good. The food and service is always OUTSTANDING... We love EL VEZ!!!!!!
Good food, great guacamole, nice ambiance, good value.
The food is great and cool space but the service on this occasion was lacklustre and not particularly friendly
Shrimp was over cooked and steak was tough in the fajitas. Guacamole was too tart. Very expensive food and drinks. I eat out often and I would not recommend El Vez.
It was a great spot for a family brunch! The food was not great, but but the service was friendly and attentive and we enjoyed the experience overall.
Fabulous food, margaritas and especially the service by our attentive and warm server, Christina. Only drawback was unnecessarily blasting music in dining room area.
Accommodating staff. We arrived early for our reservation but were seated right away. Our waiter Josh was great. Very patient and attentive. Food and drinks were good.
Everything was wonderful
Way too noisy! As in, chaos noisy and bad sound system.
Always a great time here. Food is great. Service is outstanding.
Food was surprisingly neither salty nor spicy and came off a little bland. The atmosphere was active and felt festive and authentic to the brand. All in all we had fun (and several great cocktails)
Waiter and waitress were unfriendly.
We had the pleasure of participating in the Stephen Siller Tunnel to the Towers race this past Sunday. We had made a reservation ahead but were told that there was no guarantee that we would get a table outside on the patio but they would do their best. And that they did, we had a beautiful table with a perfect view of the stage. we were able to sit comfortably and enjoy our lunch and delicious cocktails (they did run out of Modelo but I made do with a well made Margarita) all while watching the festivities.
Most importantly, our server Christina was attentive, patient and absolutely terrific. She knew the menu and was very accommodating to any of our special requests. We took up her table long past a normal table turn and she was more than pleasant! The staff was very busy and they all seemed prepared and helpful with anyone that needed help. El Vez and Christina, you receive my gold star for this outstanding Sunday visit!
Thanks so much and we will see you next year!!

I love this restaurant. It's a must-visit every time I'm in NYC. They have excellent guac, nachos, and margaritas for this Texas girl!
Great food and service
Great lunch and good drinks!
The food as El Vez was petty plain Jane and expensive . Nothing had much spice to it - the guacamole, the salsa, the two entrees and sides we ordered. It seemed the kitchen forget to use any chiles.... The service was good, it was a nice evening to sit outside in NYC. With a beer and a wine, but no dessert, the bill came close to $120 with tip. For NYC, being one of American's food cities, you can do better.
Outdoor seating is awesome, view of WTC
The guac was only OK and my chicken was cold. The waitress did remove the chicken from my bill.
Had reservations and the option of seating right away or waiting which i appreciated. Service was very efficient, the foods delicious ( mahi mahi tacos, chicken quesadillas , crab enchiladas) and drinks are superb but a little pricier than expected. Its very loud and bursting with energy; great for birthdays or friends get together.
It was a nice time and we got to enjoy the environment and food while having fun!
Great food and drink. The food is fresh and imaginatively prepared. Way too loud, though, for real conversation. Fortunately, when we asked if the music volume could be lowered a bit, there was no problem.
Amazing place to eat! Food came very quick, and the staff was very accommodating. Food was excellent and the margaritas were out of this world. Would definitely eat there again and would recommend anybody looking for good Mexican food around the WTC area.
The server got two orders mixed up, and our guests didn't realize it right away. We do like this place but it seemed like our server might have been new
