My favorite thing is the Sunday brunch buffet. They have burrito, quesadilla, waffle and omelette stations. So many delicious dishes like carnitas, red snapper, enchiladas, ceviche, flan, and the delicious corn cake.
Better than regular El Torito. I thought the handmade tortilla was awesome. As for the food the rice, shrimp dishes all had lot of butter to it.....excessive amount used. Entré shirmp dish was super salty and again heavily cooked with butter. I ordered shrimp soft tacos and it was good....but again cooked with lot of butter. WHAT's with all this butter????
I had a salad and found a marble in it. Fortunately I did not bite down on the glass marble. We reported it to the waiter who brought the manager over. They removed the salad from our check.
Our whole table thought the food was bland. No flavor whatsoever. Would I dine here again. No I wouldn't.
The food was great. I ordered the romaine salad with grilled chicken and the habanero vinigarette. It was not spicy. The service was slow, but they were busy for lunch. I would go back again. It has been awhile since I was there, but I do highly recommend it. The home made tortillas are handmade fresh daily.
One of our favorites
We went for an employee anniversary lunch - great food and atmosphere.
The carne Asada was a little too salty. FYI.
Very good food. Although you pay $30 per person which is kind of a lot for what it is. They have the tortillas section (taco, burrito...), drinks, dessert, a small buffet and meat.
Always a treat coming here. The fresh tortillas are the best thing in the world. Service is always very good. I wish there were more of these still around.
Everything was fine until we were asked to pay the bill in the midst of our meal (I was already done but my colleague wasn’t for another 15-20 mins) because the server had to go on break. Server indicated she can’t go on break while there’s an open bill. If this is a company policy, consider changing it or have alternative process in place so as to not inconvenience your guests. We had to Uber elsewhere to have desert.
I want it noted that the server was great and attentive. The food were tasty. Just that one interruption to pay the bill before everyone we were done eating ruined the mood for the rest of our dining experience.
Very disappointing that they decided to unstaff or not care about maintaining the buffet on Xmas day. I love El Torito but this place needs help, no wonder it was like a graveyard there that day.
Service was really good and stick with taco Tuesday- the tacos have homemade tortillas and try the pickled beets
Love this place! One of our family favorites! Will definitely keep coming back!
I reluctantly add this information to my review, but after having frequented El Torito Grill restaurants over the last 20 years or so, I have noticed that the Irvine location seems to be slipping backwards in terms of service levels and food quality. It appears that they may be understaffed and thus left searching or calling-out for assistance during our meal.
Serves large groups which make way too much noise, spoils dinner for smaller parties.
Our waiter was funny and responsive. Much appreciated.
The bar area is great. Atmosphere is better than in main dining room.
Good selection of beers and very enthusiastic and fast servers.
Great food and atmosphere. Enjoy sitting in bar area.
Overall, nice experience. Got super noisy for a Wednesday evening, but whatever. I think I enjoy their old menu better. Don't get me wrong, the food was good, but I'm a creature of habit is all. No reason not to go enjoy a nice meal here.
We were a little bummed on the choice of food for the brunch menu. Would be a great place to go if you want bottomless mimosas and you’re very hungry. The restaurant was very nice inside and so was the staff.
This was the first time we really felt like we were being pressed with the up-selling by the wait staff. We were there for lunch during the work day, and just wanted tea and salads, but we kept getting offered drinks from the bar, appetizers, dessert, other dishes to the point of being a bit annoying. We'll go back, but we finally had to tell her we needed to get back to work and to please bring us the check (which also took a while).
Disappointing service. Non-attentive waiter, and he was not that busy. Did not come back to replenish the tortillas or drinks. Did not check to see how the food was. Did not split the check correctly. Food was cold.
Awesome experience, food is delicious, and so much variety to choose from. You can't go wrong with Sunday brunch!
This restaurant has a host of inventive, interesting Mexican and Latin American dishes. In particular, I really enjoyed the mango Chicken. However the surprise of the meal was the elote, which was sweet, spicy, moist, and just a little bit creamy.
The surface was professional, friendly, and fast. And the happy hour, from 3 to 8 p.m., was one of the longest I've come across in a long time. Specials on this happy hour menu were great and offered some wonderful value in addition to the great food.
Overall this Latina restaurant was definitely a cut above the average. I would wholeheartedly recommended someone in the area.
You really can't go wrong with the ET Sunday brunch. The champagne isn't great (usually isn't at bottomless brunches), but they always keep you topped off and the food is always good with a huge variety. Plus it's great for kids.
Food was greasy, dessert Flan was great
arrived and my reservation was on the list. Once all parties arrived we were sat down at a table . Food was great. Also, The El Torito Grills are the only ones that serve home made totillas.
It was delicious and would recommend it to everyone !
