El Torito Grill - Brea Ratings and Reviews
I used Open Table to reserve seats
I noted on the reservation it was my sons birthday
Dinner service was slow. Then we got our chicken fajitas. Wow six strips of chicken.
Then the Waiter disappeared
We figured they must be getting the crew together for the birthday thing-
Nope when he reappeared he walked up and handed us the bill-
We just figured it’s time to go
Then to top it off they reported to Open Table we never arrived for the reservation
Made it for 6pm
First time there. Food was very good. Had the chicken Mole and it was excellent. Mole sauce seasoned great for my taste. What was a pleasant surprise was the tortillas. They have an open station in the restaurant where staff have the equipment to make fresh ones. You get hot fresh tortillas to your table. The hot ones were almost the best part of the meal. And their complimentary to boot
We had a wonderful time at El Torito Grill in Brea. Our server was excellent (I'm sorry I can't remember her name) She was super friendly, helpful, and fast. The food was tasty and came out in a timely manner. We were there for a birthday, and they helped our table sing and celebrate very well. I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Walked in to find out that my open table reservation was not found in the system, they were still able to see us with a very minor wait. We had sat down to find out that we didn't have an assigned waiter, a different waiter picked up the slack and we enjoyed a dinner. Minus drink mixups and last of silverware all work out my the end of the evening.
Love El Torito!. Used the on-line reservation for this occasion because we had a party of 8. I confirmed our reservation when I arrived, but unfortunately was forgotton. Waited about 45 minutes and was finally asked by a "seater" whether we had checked in. Walk-in are placed on a written list. On-line reservations are on a ipad that apparently isn't checked again after you arrive
The food for my friend and I was spectacular. My salmon was cooked perfectly. The salmon and the vegetables were also very tasty. My friend loved her chicken enchiladas and we both loved the tortillas. The guacamole made tableside was "okay". I had to re-mix it because it was salty in sections. It could have been more - I guess the avocados were small.
The chips and salsa tasted very fresh.
I haven't had food this good at a restaurant in a long time and I go out often.
Keep up the good work!
This was a celebration of my wife's birthday, however, due to an earlier appointment, we could not arrive for dinner until later in the evening. I had checked out other LA / OC County hilltop / view restaurants for this occasion, but they couldn't accommodate our late arrival time. Although ET Grill didn't have a hilltop location, they had somewhat of a "mini-view." What they lacked in a view, they more than made up in every other aspect. When we arrived & were greeted by Brandon, we immediately felt welcomed & special. He remembered me from a phone call that I had made enroute & was so accommodating...insuring that we were seated precisely where we wanted in the patio...even angling the table & chairs to afford the best view & insure that we were at a comfortable proximity to the overhead heater. The food was at perfect temperature & delicious. Maria, our server, was very cheerful & attentive to our needs. To our delight, around 9.30pm, we realized that we had a good view of the Disney fireworks display from our table.
