I have been here several times prior to this visit. I recommended this place so I can unite two families. We were greeted, seated and drink orders taken rather quickly. Appetizers came out equally as quick. When the entrees came out they looked as if they have been sitting under a heat lamp. The cheese in my enchiladas was cool and not cooked all the way through. The fajitas weren’t sizzling and we waited ten minutes after the entrees came for corn tortillas. Was not an enjoyable evening food wise.

The El Torito Grill used to be a "go to" place where you could count on good service and quality food. Over the past couple of years, service has been inconsistent and the food preparation has not met expectations. There always seems to be a mishap with our order including this most recent visit. And, this time, I noted that a server was moving a table next to us causing a plate to fall and shatter on the floor and no one bothered to sweep it up! There was glass all over the floor and folks were wearing sandals and open faced shoes. The host ended up seating a party at the table where this occurred. Not sure if I'm ready to give ET Grill another chance.

We had a great time at this restaurant. The staff was very helpful and the food was very good. We will definitely make a future reservation at El Toronto Grill soon.

I recently had my Mother's Birthday Dinner at El Torito Grill in Brea. Had a great experience before. We had a total of 12 people. Our server did not come to our table that often at all and there was even a time that maybe he was gone for 30-40 minutes to check up on us. Some of our guests had to go in the back to get refills by themselves. The server was really nice but not attentive to our table. After we were finished with our food everyone waited almost another 30 minutes till I got up and looked for our server who I ended up asking another worker to get him. Waited a while to get the check back and still ended up getting the to-go boxes on our own in the back.

PS. Please please please put on the menu that all of the food is served with cotija cheese. I do not know many people who like that kind of smelly cheese. Its basically the same as putting parmesan cheese on Mexican food. Most people are not fans and its unfortunate to remake a dish if the menu doesn't have all of the ingredients that is on top of the food.

Most of our food was warm but not hot, and all of the tortillas were cold and was not replaced during our meal. It was very nice to have the staff put my cake in the fridge and bring plates and flan for my mother. Maybe it was an off day but I do like the normal El Torito in Orange.

I used Open Table to reserve seats
I noted on the reservation it was my sons birthday
Dinner service was slow. Then we got our chicken fajitas. Wow six strips of chicken.
Then the Waiter disappeared
We figured they must be getting the crew together for the birthday thing-
Nope when he reappeared he walked up and handed us the bill-
We just figured it’s time to go
Then to top it off they reported to Open Table we never arrived for the reservation

First time there. Food was very good. Had the chicken Mole and it was excellent. Mole sauce seasoned great for my taste. What was a pleasant surprise was the tortillas. They have an open station in the restaurant where staff have the equipment to make fresh ones. You get hot fresh tortillas to your table. The hot ones were almost the best part of the meal. And their complimentary to boot
